just looked up olentangy and they have 17 people making over 100000 and the only one who is on a 185 day contract makes 105000 and that is definintly not a teacher. you cant make that as a teacher.

Not saying it's not fair. WKfan said you wouldn't find any teachers making 100k

    Because you say so?

its just a fact of the pay scales for public schools...most of them top out between 76000-80000... check out their master agreements. 105000 is just not possible at this time for teaching only in a public school yes i say so. prove me wrong and i will apologize.

That's not true, because there are districts in central ohio with lots of teachers in the high 80's and 90's

you top out at 80000 and that is after 15 years or so and then after 20 years you can get a 1700 dollar raise and at 25 something similar and at 30 something similar in many cases...so yes as i have said on this thread already you certainly can make 88000 at around 30 years. but that is not 100000, and certainly not 105000...if you or others had said 80's or 90's i would not have made any comments

the comment was that you cannot find teachers who make 100k, the fact is you can.

She is listed as a teacher under this awards list
  • LJ
She is an intervention teacher per the staff directory
  • Gblock
she is a intervention specialist at the high school and most likely is in charge of the IEP's for all of the Special ed students in the High School. My guess is she is the one responsible for coordinating who is responsible for each IEP and making sure they are in compliance and all meetings are held on time and filed correctly. this position is probably adding to her normal salary as is the case in our district. it requires a lot of after hours and summer work. the reason it is so important is because if you get sued over an IEP and it has spelling errors on it you will lose the case and probably a 5 figure judgment.

An intervention specialist is NOT classroom teacher. They work with special ed /IEP kids from all grades within the school.

My daughter in law did this for 4 years before moving into a classroom this year.

She is a teacher, she is listed as a teacher, she is in the union as a teacher.

For all purposes, esp of this debate, she is a teacher.

    OK.....let me ask you this.

What qualifies you to determine that this person is a teacher or not?
