Two Muslims know real reason behind mosque proposal near Ground Zero
-
WriterbuckeyeThis piece is written by two Muslims and was carried a couple days ago in the Ottawa newspaper. It's an excellent piece on how they believe Americans are being hoodwinked by this proposal, and how the Koran strictly forbids this type of mischief.
An except:
New York currently boasts at least 30 mosques so it's not as if there is pressing need to find space for worshippers. The fact we Muslims know the idea behind the Ground Zero mosque is meant to be a deliberate provocation to thumb our noses at the infidel. The proposal has been made in bad faith and in Islamic parlance, such an act is referred to as "Fitna," meaning "mischief-making" that is clearly forbidden in the Koran.
The Koran commands Muslims to, "Be considerate when you debate with the People of the Book" -- i.e., Jews and Christians. Building an exclusive place of worship for Muslims at the place where Muslims killed thousands of New Yorkers is not being considerate or sensitive, it is undoubtedly an act of "fitna"

Know the real reason or have a hypothesis as to what the real reason might be? -
I Wear PantsExcept it isn't an "exclusive place of worship". From all accounts that I've read it's a community center type thing first, prayer place distant second.

Belly35Call what you want : Political Correctness, Social Concern, Religions Freedom, Global Muslin Butt Buddies, Obama Faith …… take that crap a shove it up your ass.

Look at the Imam record, writing, past history, the organization links and the connection to other radicals did America not learn from the last election …… -
TiernanBuild the damn thing right on the site I say...use this as the ultimate example of why America is the greatest country on earth by allowing freedom of worship of any kind. But at the same time we need to step up carpet bombing in Afghanistan letting the rag heads know those freedoms will be defended forever.

Thread Bomber^^ I thought this was an excellent statement until you threw in the "rag head" Slur, You piece of shi.t Christian

ptown_trojans_1I see no problem building the thing. Then again, I see no problem with Islam and the head of the center.

ptown_trojans_1I know 2 things. 1. He came out against the 9/11 attack and other attacks. 2. In order to win against al Qaeda who need the support of moderate Muslims. If you alienate them, then they more likely join the radical side, or do nothing to help you in the long run.
Much like the Cold War, the U.S. may need to ally itself with people that aren't radical, but aren't squeaky clean either. Now, he may have a history that borders radical in some circles, but he is against the definition of jihad the al Qaeda preaches. -
IggyPride00In Islam it is somewhat of a tradition to build a mosque on a site of conquest. This should make for a nice recruiting tool for Al Qaeda.

ptown_trojans_1 I like you. You bring some refreshing insight to some topics... so I'm going to say this with a little regret

I'm curious your opinion on the concept of taqiyya, which allows Muslims to be deceitful as to their true intentions:
http://callofthepatriot.blogspot.com/2010/04/it-is-all-right-to-lie-and-deceive.html
http://www.ci-ce-ct.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3:taqiyya-how-islamic-extremists-deceive-the-west&catid=2:taqiyya&Itemid=2
http://jeffersonsrebels.blogspot.com/2010/04/taqiyya-dispensation-to-deceive.html
So when this imam says "We're here to build bridges" or something to that effect, could he really be saying, "We're here to rub 9/11 in America's face and build a monument to our terrorist triumph"? He can denounce terror all he wants- I don't believe him. His actions, and his refusal to call Hamas a terror organization speak louder than the BS coming out of his mouth. -

Thanks for the rant.
I don't see the big deal. Honestly. The guy is not affiliated with 9/11 or the attacks and the center will not preach Islam that is inline with al Qaeda.
Ehh, I read all those links a little differently. Of course those sites are bias and I'd like to know where they received their translations of the Qur'an.jhay78;453043 wrote:I'm curious your opinion on the concept of taqiyya, which allows Muslims to be deceitful as to their true intentions:

I don't care if you believe him or not. I don't think he is a radical like OBL, but a moderate that is needed to advance the dialogue in religious discussions on how to remove the need for radical Islam. -
I Wear PantsThe first site linked says that the enemy is Islam.

If Illegal’s where crossing into the US our government would put a stop to this also ...
If Congress purposes Un-Constitutional Bill our government will not vote for them...
If an Individual stand outside a voting area intimating voters our government will prosecute
If the government inspector on a oil rig are not doing their job they will stop the drilling
Should I keep going….. -

What do you think the spirits of those who died on hallowed ground at ground zero think of all the smut stores around there? -
I Wear PantsAs long as no Muslims use them or run them they are okay with it.
-
BoatShoesI mean, does this even count as being "at ground zero?" I mean it's close by but it doesn't even look like you can see the site if you're in the proposed mosque. It seems disingenuous to at least some degree to say that it's at ground zero.
