Oh he knows what's going on...he just doesn't think the American people do.

Did you complain about Bush's aircraft carrier photo ops or any of his trips?

I don't think either are really a problem.

200 Million per day on a vacation???

I don't care who it is, or what the reason is, that is just outrageous....no matter what party affiliation or how the economy is doing.

I don't see how anyone can even remotely defend this.

This crew has a huge sense of entitlement -- and the egos to match it.

You do realize this isn't a vacation right?

    Does it really matter?

There is NO reason for a trip like this now. Not diplomatic, political or personal. We simply can't afford and there's NOTHING that can't be accomplished by other means that are far, far, far less expensive. Forget the economics of what is happening now. Think about COMMON SENSE and whether you'd plan a trip like this if your administration was being raked over the national coals for too much spending -- and you just saw (literally) hundreds of Democrats lose their titles because of national disgust with too much spending and its link to Democrats.

To do this now is stupid. No other way to describe it.

This is NUTS. Over 3,000 people -- for what? 30-some aircraft -- for what? All 570 rooms in the Taj Hotel -- for what??

This is insanity. Only an elitist, so out of touch with reality, would embark on such a massively wasteful excursion.

What do you expect from this guy? He's already saying that the reason the Repubs kicked Democrat ass yesterday is because the American people expect more of what we've seen out of DC the past couple of years. If BHO really thinks this is true, he's crazier than I originally gave him credit for.

He has one chance and only one chance to annoint himself for 4 more years at the helm. He would have to throw away all of his liberal/Progressive/socialist values and become a reasonable negotiator like Slick Willie did. I didn't care for Clinton, but he was a masterful politician, likely the best I've ever seen....even better than Reagan in matters politic. This guy is so full of himself that he will never cave...as he stated earlier today...it was the way the message was delivered, not the message itself that caused his party to be smacked down. If he continues with his socializing of America, he will fail, as the majority of America isn't ready for it. Don't believe me? Check out yesterday's results for proof.

Ok, 1. The place was a target for terrorists about a year ago, remember that.
    2. It is part of the really, really, really important trip to India to discuss many items including Indian-American economic cooperation, Iran, balancing against China, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Cannot agree with you more. Part of me HOPES he continues down this path so we can boot his inexperienced arrogant ass out to the Pennsylvania Avenue curb in two years.

On the other hand, I wouldn't have any major objection if he did become more like Clinton and work with the Repubs to get this country turned around again. The difference between Clinton and Obama, however, is that Clinton was more interested in maintaining political power by kissing anyone's ass he needed to in order to retain the WH. Obama in my opinion is a pure leftist ideologue who will dig in his heels despite the clear message Americans transmitted yesterday.

The next 2 years are going to be very, very interesting.

It's like he says what I'm trying to say but takes out all of the stupidity and the arguments I make on here simply because I feel there is a point to be argued that isn't being argued (which I might not even believe/support myself).

We should start a fan club.

Although I have no criticism of Pres. Barack Obama's flimflams, I have a few observations and comments to share. Here's my side of the story: Pres. Obama plans to dispense bread and circuses to ruthless scofflaws to entice them to destroy the values, methods, and goals of traditional humanistic study in the coming days. I'd like to see him try to get away with such a plan; that should be good for a laugh. You see, most people have already observed that this is not the place to develop that subject. It demands many pages of analysis, which I can't spare in this letter. Instead, I'll just state the key point, which is that if we are powerless to yank up raucous moral weaklings from the dark rocks under which they hide and flaunt them before the bright sunshine of public exposure, it is because we have allowed Pres. Obama to advocate measures that others criticize for being excessively unholy. Pres. Obama's factotums fight more for the negative destruction of opposing ideologies than for the positive promotion of their own. Sad, but true. And it'll only get worse if Pres. Obama finds a way to marginalize the traditions and truths upon which our nation's greatness sits.

This is particularly interesting when you consider that this is not the first time I've wanted to take action. But it is the first time I realized that he wonders why everyone hates him. Apparently, he never stopped to think that maybe it's because if he could have one wish, he'd wish for the ability to tour the country promoting footling feudalism in lectures and radio talk-show interviews. Then, people the world over would be too terrified to acknowledge that the justification Pres. Obama gave for bad-mouthing worthy causes was one of the most incoherent justifications I've ever heard. It was so incoherent, in fact, that I will not repeat it here. Even without hearing the details you can still see my point quite clearly: Pres. Obama writes a lot of long statements that mean practically nothing. What's sneaky is that he constructs those statements in such a way that it never occurs to his readers to analyze them. Analysis would almost certainly indicate that Pres. Obama's logorrheic excuses are meticulously designed to keep the population unaware, uneducated, dumbed down, and focused on stupefying activities like video games. The intention is to prevent people from noticing that Pres. Obama has been diverting us from proclaiming what in our innermost conviction is absolutely necessary.

I myself might be able to forgive Pres. Obama, but only if he promises never again to violate strongly held principles regarding deferral of current satisfaction for long-term gains. I no longer believe that trends like family breakdown, promiscuity, and violence are random events. Not only are they explicitly glorified and promoted by Pres. Obama's venom-spouting canards, but everybody is probably familiar with the cliche that I never thought I would live to see the day that a backwards skiver like him could manage to force us to do things or take stands against our will. Well, there's a lot of truth in that cliche. We must uplift individuals and communities on a global scale to replace today's chaos and lack of vision with order and a supreme sense of purpose. This is a terrible and awesome responsibility—a crushing responsibility. However, if we stick together we can can show the world that we must all face the storm and stress of looking at our situation realistically and from a viewpoint that takes in the whole picture. This exercise will, at the very least, demonstrate to the world that if we look beyond Pres. Obama's delusions of grandeur, we see that he may have access to weapons of mass destruction. Then again, I consider Pres. Obama to be a weapon of mass destruction himself. Finally, no letter about Pres. Barack Obama would be complete without mention of some of the totally parasitic schemes that Pres. Obama supports. Although there are a plenitude of examples from which to choose, the most parasitic would have to be Pres. Obama's proposal to remove society's moral barriers and allow perversion to prosper. That's the sort of thing that keeps me up at night.

Depends. If it really is for the security of the President in the area that has suffered a terrorist attack, that is fine with me. Also, India is I would say one of the biggest allies for the U.S. in the future, therefore any cost to to this trip is worth it.

We did. In international politics, they come here and we go there.

And this is bad how? Jesus, I'm sure the same was done for W when he visited in 2007. It is SOP for the military, especially in an area as hostile as South Asia.
  • ptown_trojans_1

Again, what's your point? Bachman has no credibility in this as she has no idea about the importance of the strategic relationship with India. Since the discussions will involve economic integration, opening up India's nuclear industry, discussing Iran, Pakistan, Russia, China, Afghanistan and other issues, there needs to be a full staff and full officials of nearly every expertise level.

Think about it, the President would be stupid just to send the bare minimum when discussing issues like this with India. We did the same thing when in China as well. It is the nature of international politics and the geopolitical reality.

Plus, I care about the President's safety, so perhaps it is a little over the top (the coconuts) but hey better safe than sorry for this trip.
