Jets kind of got taken in that deal but they needed a legit QB.

If he plays 2 seasons I have no issues with the deal. If he retires after this season it was a pretty shitty trade for the Jets.
Either way, this season should be fun.
If it’s the 32nd pick then IDGAF I’ll probably be dead from celebrating too hard.
if the jets don't immediately come out winning, the drama rodgers brings coupled with the NYC market will overwhelm the team and they'll finish .500ish.
if i weren't lazy, i'd find the O/U on Jets win this season and bet the under
at best, i think he'll rise them up to wildcard team.
NYC Media is overhyped, imo. Buncha nerds for the most part.
But yeah, this could easily backfire on the Jets. Still worth the risk. The defense is very good. Top 5 potential. The offense has promise with GW and Breece Hall as studs and a solid supporting cast. Oline is a question but Aaron gets rid of the ball quickly and probably makes an average line look decent. I have a lot of optimism but understand that the Jets are a cursed franchise and this is likely to blow up in their faces.
Also the line on FanDuel is 9.5 wins.
Over -134
Under +110
I'm comfortable with those odds. I threw $50 at the under.
Good luck I hope you lose. Barring injury I think 11 wins is the floor but it’s probably 50/50 his arm falls off anyway so it’s a good bet on your part.

The max they can get scheduled is 5 games but could get the 6th if a late season game gets flexed.
I can see Eagles, Chiefs, Bills, and Cowboys (Thanksgiving) for sure. Maybe Miami?

Sort of. Its max of 6 for three total teams, no one else can have more than 5. There is no limit on if they get 6 right off the bat or are flexed into it. There are also no restrictions to Week 18, so anyone could get a 6th or 7th game. NBC also can only have a team on SNF 4 times (excluding Week 18).
But, given that Dallas will always get a Thanksgiving game on CBS or FOX usually, NBC will grab them for the max 4 games on SNF. Then they will almost always find a way to flex into them (flex starts Week 5, btw). That gives them the max 6 times on primetime plus the max 5 times on NBC. Then if they are at all in a game relevant to SNF on Week 18, NBC will get a 6th game on their network and Dallas will get a 6th total in primetime. All that in addition to their Amazon TNF game...

I’m sure it’s been discussed and I zoned it out but why was he so hellbent on the Jets?

I'd be curious to see how this all played out behind the scenes. The Jets hired Hackett in late January. Given his relationship and success with Rodgers, was that a shot to lure Rodgers here? Or was there a wink-wink, nudge-nudge agreement in place where the Jets were certain they would land Rodgers if Hackett was hired? I assume the latter, and if so I'm curious how those discussions went down without violating any tampering rules. If Hackett is unemployed, can he and Rodgers openly discuss plans for next season? I know the Jets couldn't without the Packers permission, but that didn't happen until March (I think).
My assumption is that Rodgers liked the elite young defense and the likely elite young offensive weapons in Wilson and Hall and figured it was his best last shot at a title. The Jets won 7 last season with Joe Flacco, Zach Wilson, and Mike White. I know Rodgers had a slightly down year but he broke his thumb on the last play of week 5. It also would've ranked top 5 in yards, top 3 in touchdowns, and top 7 in completion % in Jets franchise history. A healthy Rodgers should absolutely ball with this team. I also think he's committed to at least 2 seasons as long as they are competitive. If they lose in the AFC title game he's definitely playing another year.
Anyone else watching the draft?
Hate when they take 10 minutes to then pick the obvious Young. Small dude.
They really need to figure out how to be more live and not have the tips picked 5 minutes before.
Damn, Texans take Stroud @ 2 and Anderson Jr @ 3. That's gotta be a first.
They gave up a ton to only move up 9 spots. Geez.
Richardson to the Colts. I had seen Levis in most mocks. Interesting to see how far he falls. He should be in prison for putting mayo in his coffee.
Glad for CJ.
