Rodgers wants to play for the New York Jets. The holdup is due to the trade compensation the Packers are seeking.

From what I heard yesterday, it sounds like the Jets kind of dropped the ball on this. They met with Rodgers, fell in love but didn't know the asking price from the Packers beforehand. I imagine this will get done but sounds like the Pack could keep the Jets in limbo right up to the draft.

I’m sure it’ll get done soon if it’s going to because both teams need to move on eventually. But it’d be cool if Green Bay could also drag their feet and be a pain in the ass like Rodgers was.

They were discussing this on Sirius at lunch and Charlie Weis said "too bad, we're just moving you to RT" (regarding Williams trade demand) but didn't the Bengals sign Collins to a multi-year contract to play RT? I guess they could move Williams inside to guard but probably not ideal.

The word protecting is a bit of a stretch here.

I know Cincinnati has lost some players in FA but pretty surprised that, with the pending Rodgers trade,  the Jets have leapfrogged the Bengals in Super Bowl odds.

You know who’s just as annoying with free agency? OBJ. It’s been a year speculating where he might sign.

I had to google this because I thought you might have meant for 2023 but it was for 2022. Good old Ben.....always got to keep himself out there.

He didn’t post what I saw. It was a Pittsburgh beat writer

Ok, when do we think the Jets and Packers work out a deal and Rodgers is officially a Jet?

Before the draft?

During the draft?

After the draft?

At this point I'm leaning towards round 2 of draft night.

"The New York Jets have traded their 2nd round pick (and a future pick) to the Green Bay Packers for Aaron Rodgers"

I googled "Roethlisberger 49ers" and 4 or 5 stories came up.

Guess he had an interview with a local Pittsburgh guy (Mark Madden) and it came up. Sounds like SF reached out to him last year when all of their QB's went down. If it would've been for this year my thoughts would've been "WTF is Shanahan thinking?"

I think it will be closer to the draft but I hope it's sooner so they can sign all of his friends and make Elijah Moor expendable. I don't want the Browns to give up a high 2nd rounder and a player for Jerry jeudy.

Thought I saw where 49ers also reached out to Philip Rivers? Or maybe he was interested in the time if they were. Regardless they were pretty desperate.

Trade falls through. They roll with Zach Wilson, finish the season 3-14, you fall into a deep depression along with the BR as his Browns go 0-17. Bengals win Super Bowl, I win the mega millions.

Seems like it could be Corey Davis going to the Packers so I think Elijah stays. Lazard replaces Davis and Moore looks like an actual NFL WR with a QB that can complete a pass.

Browns just traded for him and you guys Mecole Hardman to replace him. Moore and a 3rd rounder for the Browns 2nd rounder.

Look on the bright side, that 2nd rounder the Jets just got will probably be flipped to acquire Rodgers.

The Lamar Jackson - Ken Francis thing is kind of bizarre. I don’t even understand who it is?

Why didn’t this idiot just hire an agent like everyone else.

He's totally screwed himself by not using an agent as a buffer. I can see it now: Receptionist: "Mr GM, Lamar Jackson is on line 3 for you." GM: "Hang up....it's probably some damn prank caller." If he can't use this Ken Francis guy, he has to call teams directly? So weird.

For Bengals fans, what's the plan here? Jonah Williams to RT? Was Collins that bad last year? Thought that was supposed to be one of their marquee signings?

Saw this mentioned on the Jets forum, apparently an idea from some podcaster I've never heard of.

Rodgers should just show up to the Packers facility and head to the weight room. Packers are on the hook for all that money if he hurts himself. Would probably get the wheels moving on finalizing the trade.
