Gwynn fits.  Never won the MVP, though he finished top-10 in MVP voting seven times.

Ozzie fits.  15-time All-Star, but he not only never won the MVP, he only finished top-10 in voting once in his 19-year career.

The last one actually finished top-10 in MVP voting NINE times.  Never won it.  That has to suck.

You got it.

The recently late Al Kaline was an 18-time All-Star who finished in the top-10 in MVP voting nine times without ever winning it.

Oh Goddamnit, I had Al Kaline on brain and confused him with Alan Trammell.

LOL  Well, he had the longevity.  Man played for 20 years.

Question #59:

Which post-1960s (entire career) HOF pitcher pitched for over 20 years and only managed to make two All-Star games?

Hint: There were two years he missed the All-Star game but still finished top-5 in Cy Young voting.

Door #4 wins it.  Bert Blyleven only made the ASG twice in a 22-year career.  Craziness.

But ended career 3rd on all-time K list I think (at the time)

I knew it was high.  If it's that high, that's nuts.

Question #60:

Here's a fun one.  A post-1980s HOF slugger who won 2 MVP awards, and who finished top-10 in MVP voting seven other times only made the All-Star game 5 times in a career that lasted 18 years.

Damn.  That was too easy.

I couldn't believe he only made 5 ASGs.

That's true.  Still, the man won multiple MVPs.  I would have thought that would count for more.  Just a weird time to play the position, I guess.
