Insomuch as taking the concept of a peaceful protest and perverting its meaning to be anti-American or "disrespectful" because that's easier to do than actually discussing or doing anything about the reasons behind said protest is "pro-American", sure.

I haven't said anything negative about peaceful protests. I support peaceful protests. It was horrible when the officer murdered Floyd.

He was asked his thoughts in hindsight about Kap and if he would support players this coming season if they kneel'd. 

So, his response is a direct answer to the protest of Kap/potential ones as a result of Floyd.

Saw some random procedure related discussion about the knee. No idea if this is true, but supposedly you're trained to put the knee in the middle of back/shoulder blades. 

 

As I said at the beginning of the thread. I trained BJJ for 3 years and the black belt that was our trainer also trained local police departments. 
 

I texted him after the original video. He was appalled. He said not only are all police departments explained how dangerous a knee on the neck can be within about 1-2 min, they are also trained that they should never do it, and if they absolutely have to in order to subdue the suspect, they have to take the knee from the neck to the back as soon as the suspect is in hand cuffs.

Not surprised about that, but it never really struck me that he might not be a male. 

Anyhow, I'm still incredulous as to how this all went down with the knee on the neck and you salt in jmog, again, giving the insight that he has as to how the training goes.  I am not trained in such things, but I'm at least I'm smart enough to know that if you do that to someone for that long of a time, you are going to kill them.

Yeah, I feel bad for the poor in the city. I support the protests, but hate the riots. I volunteer in a couple of areas that have been hit badly. First we couldn't deliver meals because of Covid, and now it is the riots. Several lost local stores and pharmacies. When this eventually ends, those people are hurt the worst.

Does being cancelled mean everyone hates you now? I thought you meant his post-retirement announcing job at NBC was canceled, which you know is also coming.

I’d say that’s a few ways to describe it.

He apologized this morning, and if he can be sincere he could be fine. Last night I thought if his apology didn’t land, he may just retire.

I personally think there's more to this. The fact that Floyd had a previous relationship with the cop that killed him from that nightclub they both worked at and the fact one of the three cops who watched that apparently knew it was excessive and suggested he be turned on his side but the cop who killed him refused. I think he knew what he was doing but we'll likely never really know his thought process.
