Also, the real outrage here is that apparently full rides for cheerleading is a thing. I'm sorry, but just because a bunch of 3rd-rate gymnasts get hurt at a high rate doesn't make it a sport.
Ohhhhhhhh.........now you’ve done it!
You did NOT just say that.
I’m going to go to my garage refrigerator and loot the beers I have and shoot them down my throat.
And then I’m going to loot my neighbors refrigerators who I know don’t have guns.
Never dealt with a curfew. Ours started at 8. Went to two local grocery stores (uncessfully) at around 6:45. Eerily similar to day one of the "pause."
What a weird deja vu feeling.

So how does curfew work anyways? Sorry if that’s a noob question, I just never have been apart of it. Is it similar to the essential travel thing with COVID, except cops will actually pull you over and you better be doing something essential? And I assume no one allowed outside? At work last night people were debating ordering food around 7pm and I told them they better do it soon because we had curfew at 8pm, but they didn’t seem to think that mattered?
It shouldn’t matter as I think delivery drivers are allowed to deliver. So ordering food and having it delivered would be allowed.
Mostly, they stop the people walking the streets.
But I’ve never been a part of one resulting from riots, sooo

I have two kids who live in apartments in downtown nerve central Cleveland and as a parent I can tell you how much this sucks. My one daughter works at the Justice Center and that is where the bull shit started. She was able to make it back to her apartment before all hell let loose there. My other daughter who works for Ernst and Young and lives in the heart of the action was fortunately able to be at our home visiting when all this shit went down. We are waiting for an “all clear” for her to be able to get to her apartment, get her work computer, drop off a food and supplies delivery from home to her sister and come back. Meanwhile, our probation officer daughter is stuck in Cleveland “on call”.
Cops weren't very enthusiastic about it. Didn't really believe them - needed more passion and conviction.

Is that supposed to be so they can legally say they gave fair warning?

While I dont agree with using that language, insinuations and platform to express that.....she does have a right in this country to do so and losing her job over seems like her rights are violated
Private college. Private business. Where is the violation?
She's not being censored. Others have merely decided not to associate with her because of what she said.

Further clarification. She just graduated HS and was to attend Arizona Christian University, so she hadn't even made it to campus yet.
At least she saved on gas and time.

Seems like NYC was more under control last night. Less looting, way more arrests.

Their Mayor is a POS.....just think he was running for President a few months ago. He basically sat back and let them loot and burn the city.

This scene comes to mind with how people are treating these protests, especially with yesterday's #blackouttuesday.

I don't disagree. But in this day and age, as stupid as it is, you really gotta be smarter on social media. I am very glad these platforms weren't around when I was in high school.
I've never been one to really do anything on social media or really be "public" about things. It's never been my style.
The kids need to learn, without a doubt. I wish a school and athletic program (yes, even dance) would confront this head-on. Mandate some policy for her to adhere to before attending and while attending. It's an opportunity to truly educate AND as a Christian institution, to forgive. It's obvious there's a lot of love that needs to go around to people -- the "blast" mentality is something I just cannot get behind.
If an institution (or organization, etc.) fails to make proper steps to educate or correct, then that's a different story.

You really think people like that chick are going to go to college and learn that their racist thoughts/feelings are wrong and change for the better? Maybe a couple might, but I think the majority of them will allow college to make that ideology they have stronger.

No reference to racism but if I were a parent, I'd cringe at the thought of sending kids to college with all of the liberal bullshit they have force fed to them.

Or you could just raise kids to not buy into that. Or just not send them at all.

You realize that just because it’s taught in school, doesn’t mean everyone turns into a liberal?
You act like liberalism is like AIDS or something lol that you catch. Just because you don’t agree with it (and I don’t either), doesn’t mean it’s this dangerous disease.
