I don't know if it's quite that clear cut.  This "independent" examination was requested by his family.  Now it was conducted by a former NY medical examiner, but one who also happens to have performed "independent" autopsies on Eric Garner and Michael Brown.

So let's see how the trial goes with cross-examination of both sides medical experts, because I wouldn't say either side had a truly unbiased opinion.  Just saying expert "opinions" are usually chosen with a pretty good idea of where that opinion is going to land.

IMO, there may have been contributing factors.  But as JMOG was saying before that it is a choke move, then the contributing factors could be irrelevant if the move was applied far beyond a lethal period of time.  If it had been only 60 seconds, then you might have a plausible defense that the death was because of other factors.  It doesn't mean MN is lying, just that they've put forth in invalid excuse

This is a terrifying bunch if I've ever seen one.

Well now I’m fuckin’ scared.

A Louisville BBQ restaurant owner was shot and killed by police during protests over the weekend. His body lay in the street for 12 hours. Mysteriously, every bod cam on the police officers were turned off. The chief of police was fired due to the incident.

Glad to see him get fired. Probably should've happened after Breonna Taylor was murdered by Louisville police not that long ago. Apparently the three officers involved in that incident are still employed, which is ridiculous.

I can see why the chief was fired for cameras being off; but also why the cops are still employed (for now) without evidence. The two are related, but also separate.

Wife said there were posts on facebook about downtown was shut down.  I am not going down to see for myself.  Dont care that much

DC is nuts. The National Guard and federal police just dispersed a peaceful protest with tear gas and rubber bullets. 

Even the local news anchors were thrown off saying this is really aggressive and goes beyond anything that normally happens during peaceful protests. 

My daughter just came home and they are arresting people.  She said "THey are throwing the people on the ground"

That was just insane. The ABC7 had one live where the cop smashed his shield into the camera. Was going in for more, when the others kind of got in his way and directed them to just move elsewhere.

I mean if you are one who fears federal overreach, holy shit. What happened in DC was the feds coming in over the top and squashing a peaceful protest with aggressive tactics.

More or less.  It was sort of set up as a foundational reason the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.  In effect, it'd be like saying, "Because a well-regulated militia is necessary for a free state, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed."

So you're right; it doesn't make the latter contingent on the former.  The former is why, in their view, it is necessarily a right they were going to protect explicitly in the Bill of Rights.

Frankly, though, even if you wanted to make the claim that a well-regulated militia was necessary for any right to bear arms, how does one form a well-regulated militia without arms?  Arms are, in effect, necessary for any such militia.  Otherwise, it's basically an outdoors club.

It amazes me that people still try to use the militia angle when one of the most important landmark decisions regarding the 2A is Heller vs. DC, whose key finding is that the right to bear arms is an individual right.

Seems like this would be going a little better if we had literally anyone else as President. 

Newark,Oh (my town) had 2 protests over the weekend and they were both very organized and respectful. There was very little police presence.

The peaceful protesters are currently vandalizing monuments in DC.
