Kids sleep for 11 hours a day at that age. So they’re at daycare for 60-70% of their waking hours.

I might have exaggerated her speech, she hits all the previous guidelines and teacher says she’s fine, but compared to our older daughter she is lagging (and yes I know you’re not supposed to compare). I don’t think it’s illogical to think that not being able to see lips move and hear things clearly at a place you spend a lot of time from age 5 months to 29 months has a detrimental effect on speech. What’s going to happen to kids with parents who aren’t as involved and read them books every day and practice letters/ words?

2nd kid often lags behind the first. My daughter was saying “catalogue” at 15 months but my son grunted and pointed until he was 4….scared us even though we knew he was super smart. He’s doing quite well 14 years later.

kids spend less than 1/4 of  a 24 hour day at school, and they dont go to school year round, so no masks did not fuck up your kids speech. But yes requiring masks at school but nowhere else is dumb.

You should know better, that for a lot of kids (especially in low-income districts), school is the only constant interaction they receive.  They either go home to an empty house, or go right to their iPads, video games, TikToks, etc.  Yes, even younger kids.

Which is great but as far as time spent..most time is spent out of school.  Stop blaming schools for all of peoples problems is all im saying.

No one was blaming a school for anything.

there is no doubt the teachers wearing masks have fucked her speech up. I don’t need studies.

I don’t particularly think most wear them voluntarily.

I don’t think kids should be wearing masks.

How did teachers wearing a mask fuck up a 30 month old’s speech?

Tell me you have never seen a speech pathologist without telling me.

They LITERALLY over exaggerate their mouth movements to show kids how to form the correct sounds. Kids that are behind in speech go to such speech therapy in school and this is what the therapists do.

Watch a PreK or K teacher talk to their kids vs say a high school teacher. They also over exaggerated their mouth pronun so kids can see how to form words/sounds.

That almost makes sense. A father with a child with Down syndrome would also be against masks in school. I wasn’t calling kids with disabilities retards. If you’re that offended, anyone who thinks masks should continue in schools is a complete fucking moron. Is that better?

You have to remember your replying to/dealing with a retard.

You get your freedom.  Airlines will probably drop mask mandates soon. I’m traveling, going to restaurants, kid goes to school with no mask - I’m free as I’ve always been.  Now those people in Ukraine defending their lives and homes would be outraged if they knew it was slightly inconvenient when we fly.

Careful here... We test for COVID the day before we leave for Costa Rica.  Me and my 2 daughters.  If any of us tests positive, trip cancelled. For a virus that is not what it once was.  They will not test me for flu, AIDS, or anything else.  Only this dated virus.

I’m not saying it sucks.  I’ve had to do it too.  But we’re near the end despite the claims that we were going to stay in a permenant state of serfdom.  Okay hope you make it out with no problems.  But know you live in freedom and prosperity despite some of the nonsense you hear.

Considering originally it was "2 weeks" and we are now at 2 years, 2 years is rather close to "permanent" when we were told 2 weeks to flatten the curve.

So powerful.

Glad they've accepted the victim role as such a young age. Usually manifests  later in life.

It can be difficult when a point is exaggerated to near-infinite absurdity.

Just wondering, are a lot of y’all and the left going to apologize and admit defeat or just going to pretend you weren’t wrong? Dipshit NYC mayor still wants under 5s to wear a mask in that trash city. People aren’t going to forget…

Sounds like you're saying there will be another Covid outbreak and a return of mask mandates in October....

Being wrong about everything. Masks, lockdowns, schools, etc.  There are still mask mandates on airplanes, which has some of the cleanest air. There might have been 10% science in the whole pandemic, and 90% politics.
