Did someone edit a post in this thread or do something other than adding a post recently? For some reason it bumped it to the top of the list, but I don't know why. This happens occasionally but I've yet to determine the cause (other than shitty code).

The federal government should have a standing offer of $5,000 to any man or woman who wishes to either have a vasectomy or their tubes tied.  The government pays for the procedure and the person gets a check for the 5k.  You can only get it once; you must be 18 and cannot be older than 30.  Just a thought.

Why cannot be older than 30?

Why not just pay for the procedure instead of a cash payout?

You pay an incentive so that you entice people who will likely be bad parents, thus eliminating that outcome. You have an age cutoff so that someone can’t have 8 kids with 8 fathers, but then go in to get the procedure when they’re 42 and not likely to get pregnant again. Or some guy who’s 55 for the same reason. 18-30 seems to cover the lion’s share of problematic parents.

Personally i think we need everyone to have some kind of temporary birth control that can only be removed when they have passed a test and are ready to be parents. Too many people spitting out babies that aren't ready.

Not sure if these have been said:

-If you are poor and can't afford a kid(s), then you shouldn't have on.

-Those able bodied on welfare should have to work for their welfare.  A minimum of 30 hours/week community service.  I might have already said this one.

-The majority of good intention laws are bullshit.

-Any private business should be able to deny service to anyone for any reason.

-Title IX is trash.

-The ACLU is trash.

-Affirmative Action is trash in this modern age.

-Min wage should be $0.

I am not 100% "good" with all of these, but have similar feelings on all. The two "biggest" issues I would have is the poor and kids and the minimum wage being $0.

I don't think people should have kids if they can't afford them, but don't think any given "law" should be enacted to enforce this.

I do believe the market should determine wages, but not sure $0 is the right final answer (some compromise should be made).

Well to clarify, I didn't mean it in the sense of passing a law to prevent it.

What would be your compromise with min wage if you have one?

The true minimum wage is $0 (unemployed). Minimum wage laws provide barriers to enter the workforce for our least skilled workers. If someone only provides $5/hr worth of value, and the minimum wage is $10/hr, guess who isn't going to have a job for very long? It's illegal to provide a job to someone who only creates $5/hr worth of value, even if both parties agree to it.

Let states/cities set their own, but the Federal minimum wage should be $0.

College athletes shouldn't be paid. They should have the ability to acquire sponsorship, endorsements, etc. just like any Olympic athlete does.

The only "reason" I'd excuse college athletes getting paid is to make-up for their inability to work a part-time job while they commit to a sport for 20+ hours a week. I especially believe this in D3 athletics where there's no athletic scholarship involved. No one markets D3 schools more than what the athletes do.

Did Title IX get revoked or is the Trump administration working on it?  Either way, I agree with you on it.

The ADL (these people are afraid of every number and possible hand gesture - not the least of some words like "peckerwood" and "peni" and mythological things like Thor's Hammer) and SLPC is also trash.

Athletes shouldnt be paid.  They should be allowed to make a % of the revenue a school makes while they are there.  When they graduate they get the money.  If they go one and done they dont get any of it and they have to pay back their scholly

If this were to happen, D1 schools need top abolish the free ride scholarships for athletes.  If they are getting paid to play, they can pay their own way.
