Interesting. I wasn't born here and haven't felt unwelcome, though I can see where you'd get the "cliquish" vibe. I just ignore those people outright if they're assholes about it, I don't have time for that shit.

Just curious, what time period did you work here?

It was several years ago...and that may have changed since then.

That was my impression at the time.

Cincinnati has made some great changes in the last few years with downtown and other neighborhoods. When I lived there in HS (10+ years ago), Cinci sucked to go to for pretty much anything. Now, I love heading downtown when I'm back home for a weekend.

I was in cinci this past weekend for a bachelor party and was pleasantly surprised how much it has improved.  We had a good time.  I also had goetta for the first time.

I like it.  I would choose ground sausage over it, but I enjoyed it.  Have you ever eaten at Echo?  I forgot how many old school diners Ohio has.  There are 0 legit diners in DC.

I respectfully disagree with your controversial opinion. ;-)

Yeah, the Echo was pretty close to our old house. It's a great little diner.

Couldn’t agree more with the pets thing..I want to punch people in the face when I ask if they have kids and they mention their pets. I literally have a multi million dollar client who for the last three years we’ve had in our notes that she has two kids, but she recently just let us know that she doesn’t have actual kids, those two kids are her pets. Always wondered why they weren’t her beneficiaries. That explains why. Smh

also, boogies opinion on Hitler..lol wtf man

My opinion is that the common narrative about Hitler is that he was a non-entity who was good at one thing - speaking.  I think that is totally wrong.  That is what we'd like him to be, but it isn't accurate.  The truth of the matter is that he was extremely adept at many things.  He had very strong leadership traits.  Without these, he'd never have been heard about.  The reason I think this opinion is important is because it regards Hitler as a very capable person who also happened to be very evil.  That is a dangerous combination.  Making him out to be a crazy nut who was incompetent glosses over how he really came about.

Car engines quit being understandable after computers were added.   Printed circuit boards can't be fixed with a hammer.

A lot of truth here.   He didn't gain power like some do by getting it passed down in their family.   You don't get his position without being a great leader.

I think some ewuate being a great leader with being a leader who does great things.   Hitler was obviously a fantastic leader who did many atrocious things.  Saying he was a great leader does not endorse what he did, just that he was believable enough that he rallied so many.

All Jr. High and High School student must participate in two school extracurricular activities each year

Beginning in Jr. High being cut from a team is the start of real life experence  .. deal with it

Terrible 2nd take. You would never get to the 1st one (which is good) by cutting kids in middle school. I don't believe in cutting kids at the interscholastic level. With the obesity issue in the states, no way. A life of activity is what needs to be reinforced continually. Too many kids are cut too early and we have the issues we have in sports -- declining numbers.

Just relocated to Cincinnati in March 2017. I have found the exact opposite. We've been welcomed more than anywhere we ever lived before (South Dakota was decent, northwest Ohio was terrible, Kansas was terrible).

That said, controversial opinion of mine is on ramps are for getting up to speed of traffic flow AND off ramps are for slowing down to where you need to navigate the road ahead. The right lane (if that's where the merge lane begins) is not for speeding up on a merge on OR slowing down on a merge off. This seems to be a controversial opinion in NKY/Cincinnati.

The Olympics in general is over rated. Waste of money to host. Cheating by countries, athletes and judges. Many athletes are actually professionals.

Great thread!

Seinfield is trash (seems to be more popular as the years go by)

Baseball is more boring to watch at home than golf

Spaghetti Warehouse >>>>> Olive Garden

Kobe is a more skilled basketball player than Michael.

Rashida Jones is a perfect 10

Trump is a good President who has piss poor judgement.

If you use the term "reverse racism" you should be dropped on an island like Tom Hanks

Roundabouts are great, people are just dumb.

Seth McFarlene is incredibly annoying and not funny at all.

Same for Frank Caliendo.
