It's almost as if you're struggling to decide if you're a redneck.

There's no struggle. I know what I am.

I truly am thinking about putting in an order for a 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R.

Basically a fully loaded Raptor but with a 700 hP Shelby 5.2L GT V8 in it.

MSRP is $109,000.

Never ordered a car before, guess I have to do it through a dealership? I can’t find anywhere on Ford’s website to do it.

Will have to get in writing the price is MSRP, not dealing with any of the dealerships that are majorly marking up new cars.

I don’t think they made Raptor R yet, until the 2023 model, am I wrong?

I thought I read the Raptor R was supposed to start in 2022 but had to get pushed back to 2023 model year.

I don’t plan on having my Raptor until March. Our yearly bonuses come in March and my current car will be paid off in a month. 6 months of saving and bonus money as the down payment to help make the payments a little lower.

But if I want a Raptor R in March I will have to order it sometime in the fall.

I got to drive a shelby gt500 for a week while they delivered my mustang 2 years ago. It was bad ass. you'll love the supercharged 5.2.

109k for a truck. Wowie.

I've driven an SVT Raptor. It's plenty of truck. I'd have a hard time justifying an R unless I had fuck you money.

I don't have fuck you money, but we shall see. A loaded Raptor is basically $90k, so its $20k more for the R and the Shelby GT engine.

2020s are supposedly the "best" year. Quick browsing shows insane used car prices still trending with Raptors. Some are ~70k. Others 100k. Doesn't make sense.

I would guess the 6.2 years were the best years and they havent made a raptor with a 6.2 since '14 i think

I believe it's just based on issues/recalls.

I test drove a 2018 SVT.  I briefly shopped them before getting an SUV. I loved it, just couldn't justify dropping that amount on a used car.

When I bought my mustang in '20 the guy was like.. have you ever considered the gt500's we have one here.  I'm like yeah... but 52 for a mustang is enough. Cant spend 100 on one lol

70k down would make the monthly payment hurt less.

Or, and hear me out, you have spent the last 3 years paying off every single debt your have (student loans, credit cards, cars, etc) to the point that the only debt/monthly bills you have now is a mortgage and utilities.

That was well over $2000/mo in bills that I am not paying anymore. Spend the next 6+ months saving that $2000 along with some bonus money in March and viola, a nice down payment on a truck you have wanted since they came out in 2010.

My best friend growing up has a Tacoma with 360k miles on the odometer. It's finally dying. Shit fucking up daily.

He's exploring new Tacos but I think I got him sold on the Tundra. He get's a vehicle allowance and works in construction. I told him he will surely be disappointed with the ANCIENT Taco motor and transmission. Tundra is the way!

I do the finances but wife and I have an agreement that anything over a certain amount has to be agreed upon.

She is pushing for me to get this truck next year more than I am.

So the only question is whether it will be a regular Raptor or a Raptor R come March time frame.

Well…

It happened yesterday.

Spent months trying to find anyone selling one at MSRP…

no one is selling Raptor R at MSRP, most want $150-200k for a $109k truck)

Many are selling base model raptors ($80k) at or just over MSRP.

Nearly no one is selling a fully loaded 37in tire performance package Raptor at MSRP ($89k). Most asking for $105-110k.

I got lucky, a dealership In Lebanon OH (north of Cincy) had a customer custom order one, but it took 6 months due to part shortages so they bought one somewhere else in the mean time. The dealership had a fully loaded 37” tire package Raptor with everything except some of the Raptor decals/stickers (guy didn’t like them) and sold it at MSRP.

I picked it up yesterday.

Truck that I have wanted since they came out in 2010…

My F150 Raptor…
