Time after time in the real world, businesses and those running businesses are held accountable (personally), civilly and criminally, for shady actions, negligence, hiding evidence, obstructing justice etc..etc..... ----- Enron, BP, VW, Wells Fargo, Davita Healthcare, and on and on and on ...............and yet, when it happens at the highest levels of government, and in this case the most trusted institutions, it is swept under the carpet.  This shit has to change.

Overall though my main point is "losing" important documents is inexcusable.  Show me a private business that let's shit like that get away and I will show you a business that is close to death.

Someone found the texts, which begs the follow-up question of how hard they were looking to find the missing texts in the first place.  So you conveniently lost them, then you conveniently couldn't find them....

Then you have the IRS....and you have to wonder if low-level staffers weren't threatened in some way to destroy/lose records.

Becoming pretty clear that these govt entities can't be trusted to maintain their own records.  Of course, the NSA probably is sweeping all that up (along with everything else).  But we need an independent, separate group to maintain records so that this crap can't be covered up (by being "lost").  Ironically enough, part of the justification/reasoning behind what the Obama Admin was doing with the Trump Russia stuff was that they didn't want it buried or destroyed.  So right there you have people from the Obama Admin claiming it can be done...and it looks like they did that in several cases, themselves.

“This story gives a glimpse into how that original Russia narrative may have been spread around to overly compliant journalists and other members of the “resistance.””

this memo is going to haunt the left in 2018 and 2020....if you are running against any of them that were complicent in the cover up (which they all are since they voted to hide the memo) it wont be hard to play the corruption charge

We might be entering a new era in partisan politics unbecoming.  You have the Repubs making strong accusations against the DOJ, and then you have Dems basically calling them liars and contriving a cover-up.

I'm inclined to believe the Repubs, because it sounds like a lot of this are the bombshells the media dismissed and ignored, but made many of us go "something's fishy here".  But without presenting evidence, much less a smoking gun, this will just drive a bigger wedge between the useful idiots on both sides.

I doubt it. The 24 hour news cycle won't allow it. By November voters will focus on the new and shiny thing or the fact that DC is still a swamp and both sides cannot work fucking together.

I'll wait to read the thing if it is released before I draw any judgement. If it does not reveal sources and methods then great.

Pretty much this.  A tweet from Trump would overshadow anything.  I am not joining the hype train though.  I have seen a lot of this "bombshell is coming" shit on both ends for the past 4 years and nothing comes out of it.

True.  But it appears to be damaging enough that Dems are writing their own memo (which they most likely will then have to leak) in rebuttal.

Mueller does not appear to be investigating Russia collusion.  But the Dems need that distraction, and they need the pretense of impeachment to carry them thru 2018.  And many people feel the memo might lead to calls to end the investigation, hence much Dem butthurt.

It's becoming pretty clear the investigation is no longer about Russia collusion.

It's going to be a real riot watching calls for impeachment over obstructing a sham investigation.

It never was.

I think exposing the bias and potential criminality by a few people at the top of these powerful agencies is highly necessary.  Congress has been charged with oversight of these agencies; if there is abuse of power, particularly in situations involving presidential elections and efforts to throw the election, then by all means congress had better alert The People ...............the radical left-wing media sure as hell won't.

obamagate ................makes Watergate look like a walk in the park.

Directly out of Saul Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals':  accuse the other side of doing that which you are doing.

Looking forward to the indictments.

Mueller should voluntarily shut down his investigation as it is readily apparent it was a sham from the beginning. Hopefully he has the balls to do the right thing.

I think it was always about getting a special prosecutor to anal probe his finances.  And I would never in a million years make a bet there's nothing impeachable in his finances.  Kickbacks are illegal in the US even if it's legal locally....but it's business as usual, particularly for global real estate developers.

It seems like all the people Trump's pissed at are his own appointees or at least Republicans.  I guess the whole investigation is bunk though.  Trump said so himself.  In fact, I don't think we should hear about it anymore.  Any further reporting on it will constitute "FAKE NEWS".  Just chill out and go bang a porn star.

He really hires the best people, huh?  Considering the guy picked Flynn and Manafort, no one should be surprised he appointed some Obama sympathizers and never-Trumpers.

Saw a Republican representative on tv last night....He claimed to have read Schiff's memo, and said Schiff is running his mouth and smearing Nunes knowing his memo probably won't/can't be released because it would need to be heavily redacted of the sources and methods it details.  Said Schiff did it intentionally so he can blame Republicans for obstructing the truth when the memo isn't de-classified for release.

then the Schiff memo likely makes everyone in the crime and the cover up look way worse than the pubs.  Should call his bluff and release it unredacted.  If someone broke the law.......the info shouldnt be classified.  THis whole thing shouldnt be classified.  It doesnt pose a threat to national security (outside the beltway) and surely has nothing to do with foreign governments (unless Great Britain was in on it)
