Brandon Johnson, the soon to be mayor said:
"In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city. However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities," Johnson said in a statement after the incident.

Robert Peters, state senator said:
"Since I’m a glutton for punishment and I’m sure I’m gonna get the most unhinged, crime weirdo replies but: I would look at the behavior of young people as a political act and statement," Peters wrote in a Twitter post Sunday. "It’s a mass protest against poverty and segregation. Rest in peace to my mentions."

Well, I guess when they reach voting age, they can start putting thought towards their future and who they will be voting for. 

Democrats in general have lost all ability to manage any system. They can come up with ideological opinions and ideas very well, but when it comes to putting their ideology into practice they suck at it. Absolutely abysmal results. Or maybe the ideology is what sucks and can't be implemented with good results. Just look at the state of California, Oregon, Washington. The writing is on the wall.

Either way, that age group in Chicago has some hard choices to make in their near future.

Not having fathers? Or any respectable parent figure? They’ll still vote Democrat. See the Mayor elected who is an abhorrent person. Don’t cry when you get mugged and when no pharmacies or grocery stores want to be anywhere near you.

I'm finding it harder and harder to believe that you're an educator. With an educators education & experience, you should be able to, if not form better arguments (let alone facts lol), at least perform as if you do. But you don't. You don't even come close.

You've been doing well, then you had to go off the rails. 

I understand this guy had a stroke, so I'm not going to make fun of him for his issues. But this is ... hard to watch. Is there a reason he's still working when he can barely get thru the easy/scripted parts? This man is completely incapable of speaking extemporaneously and somehow he's making decisions that affect all of us?

This reminds me to send up a big GFY to the PA GOP for putting up Dr Oz instead of literally anyone else. At this point I'm almost convinced the GOP is controlled opposition.

Jared Polis on Friday signed a set of health care bills enshrining access to abortion and gender-affirming procedures and medications, as the Democrat-led state tries to make itself a safe haven for its neighbors, whose Republican leaders are restricting care.

The goal of the legislation is to ensure people in surrounding states and beyond can go to Colorado to have an abortion, begin puberty blockers or receive gender-affirming surgery without fear of prosecution. Bordering states of Wyoming and Oklahoma have passed abortion bans and Utah has severely restricted transgender care for minors.

Except 90% of them vote straight party line, anyway.  People weren't voting for Fetterman, they were voting for Pelosi.  Doesn't matter if you're brain dead so long as you vote the way Nancy says!

Granted, I thought some of the abortion laws from the Repubs were ridiculous.  But this is inexplicable - how are we "protecting" the rights of children by allowing them to pursue life-altering surgeries without parental involvement or mental health evaluations?

Mental health evaluations and any suggested/proceeding therapy afterwards are considered "Conversion Therapy" to democrats and is anathema.
