Same people boycotting nfl lol .. all time ratings

The NFL and Bud Lite are not the same.  This is Marketing 101 in first year business school - know your customer.  If you think your job is to lead or educate your consumer product customers on deeper life issues, you have lost the plot.  If AB wanted to virtue signal to hip wokesters, they have other brands to test the waters with.  Using Bud Lite was so stupid it is hard to fathom.

It only took about 20 years to go from ignoring gender and celebrating the individual to choose-your-own-gender. But if gender is a social construct, then that really makes no sense.  Only in today's woke culture could we go from "gender is stupid and arbitrary" to "OMG you DID NOT just misgender me!!!!!!!"

Where will we be 20 years from now?  Intentionally misgendering people to get even, errr I mean achieve "equality"?  That's kind of where other movements are today already.

A question for the libs and moderates here: what are your thoughts on SB5599 in Washington state?

My main thought is "What is SB5599 in Washington state?" My secondary thought is that you'll have to give a brief explanation because I'm not looking it up unless I'm being paid to do so. This be Lazy Sunday, bruh!

It basically says that shelters that take in runaway kids don’t have to report a runaway to authorities if “there is a compelling reason, like they want to seek gender affirming care”.

Another reason people are moving away from the west coast in droves.

That be a bit on the insane side. I'd say compelling reasons pretty much begin and end with "abusive household; authorities unwilling/unable to step in" and definitely shouldn't be extended to "dad says I have to keep the ding-a-ling I was born with while I'm still living under his roof".

I won't buy a pink one, but would definitely break out the card for a purple one!

It 100% is the issue. Nobody gave a fuck about them, and now as you stated we are being shamed for not agreeing with them in those “conversations” ptown talks about. Btw, most of the  left doesn’t give a fuck about them either.  They have just found a way to milk them for money and rally their base.

Since ptown and gblock love their anecdotal experiences, I will take it a step further. I have plenty of gay friends and all of them are quietly unsupportive of transgenders.  They are just afraid to say it, because they feel they will be black listed from the lgbtq community.

I've seen a lot of gay people now using "LGB" and that's it. They don't use the T or the QIA++123

It's because current activists can't stop. Algorithms, social credit scores and any press is a tall glass of water when you are thirsty.

Since I am on perma midnights at a hospital, I just woke up 30 minutes ago, still drinking my coffee. This made me gulp a large sip of hot coffee so that I didn't spurt it out all over myself, monitor and keyboard.

Thanks!

Well, from my experience, a lot of your views, what you post is either wrong, or uneducated. But, you wouldn't know because you refuse to even accept or acknowledge them.

This is where you are completely wrong.

I've been reading all that I can about the subject. My job (at a healthcare facility) requires me to read some of the drivel that is being put out. Not only that, but many healthcare facilities have what they call healthstreams, where you have to read a bunch of stuff then be tested on it, having to pass in order to complete it; most of the testing allows for one answer to be wrong. Just last week I had 25 of these reading/test streams dumped into my email. So, I AM getting regularly informed by medical, psychological and healthcare administrative professionals - not to mention the DEI committees that are instrumental in forming these guidelines.

*side note*
Did you know that employers are now insisting that when greeting a group of people that we should no longer say things like "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen" because somebody might choose to be offended because their chosen gender or other self-identifying title is left out of the statement?

But I've already been curious about this particular branch of the subject ever since I watched a Joe Rogan podcast that had Abigail Shrier on. She has a very engaging book called "Irreversible Damage" that discusses many of these topics: the consequences of white-knighting, the grooming that is done not only in social media, but in public institutions as well, the age groups involved, the predominant sex getting caught up in the wave, the regret later in life, etc.

Sweden, who was the launcher of gender affirming care to minors has very recently stopped the practices involved. Tavistock Clinic, the spearhead of this movement in the UK has also ended their push of the same procedures. Why? Because it does more harm than good. In fact, that is scant evidence that it helps anything or anybody.

Don't assume that the person you want to talk down to (in a rather lame attempt at discrediting) about such a subject is wrong or uneducated in any capacity, Ptown. Because all you did was hold up a broken mirror and gazed into it. Perhaps when challenging somebody on these issues, you should have your spouse or trusted family member log into your account and do it for you.

1. His posts is far more on point and educated than anything you have posted on the subject. Up until political pressures changed transgender diagnosis in DSM 5, it was classified under the exact same mental disorders as he described exactly.  So what he said is actually backed up by science, which only changed like a couple years ago.

2. Again, don’t be a moron. No one is not “acknowledging” them. That’s like saying we don’t acknowledge people with ADHD or Autism when we say we hope they get the help they need. Don’t be stupid.

She is definitely a curious wench!

This makes me miss Isidore even more. Because even if Isi was pedantic, repetitive and insufferable - they at least relied on some sort of ideological reference to make their arguments.

Ptown is just a shitlib who, as shown in this thread, relies on reactive emotions.

Another example of authoritarian statists attempting to usurp the role of parenthood.

The west coast has turned into a shithole. California, Washington, Oregon - all rolling around in the mud of their own ideology. Let them. Better there than here (Ohio)

LOL....he mentioned something about "the state owning the means of production" which is a left-wing talking point that is oversimplified to the point of complete ignorance.  "Moderates" don't reflexively spew party propaganda like that.

Regulation, taxation and even prosecution - all things we've seen plenty of examples of - can all be used by the "non-owning" state to punish or coerce companies to stay on the preferred path.  Only people that believe in benign or benevolent big gubmit make the point about socialism in an attempt to dismiss and obfuscate the points about heavy-handed intervention.

It's every bit as politard as the "war on christmas" crowd.

One of the funnier takes on Twitter the last couple days is libs thinking that Disney World could just up and move to a different state, with some morons going as far to suggest Puerto Rico as an alternative. Galaxy brain shit. (I have no opinion on what Desantis is doing there, haven’t looked into it enough)

A gradual move wouldn't be far fetched at all.. You open a park with room to grow... you start as one park, and it grows yearly until you transition to it fully. Now... that would take decades but it's feasible. It's shortsighted if Disney thinks it wouldn't happen too.

Now.. economically it wouldn't make sense. There's no really better location for it. But I guess stranger things have happened when you upset people.

It isn’t feasible. The costs would be insurmountable. Not to mention they have 40+ square miles of land. Where are they going move it that has an airport, the land, and is warm year round, that isn’t also a red state? All they have to do is wait out DeSantis. They also have shareholders to answer to.

From my highly-regarded ability to pay very little attention to things, but have an opinion nonetheless, I'd compare DeSantis-Disney to Russia-Ukraine, only being fought through lawyers and litigation, as opposed to military. In other words, a giant quagmire that may or may not ever actually get resolved to anyone's liking. Last thing I remember noticing is that Disney found some sort of provision that allowed them to completely neuter DeSantis' assigned supervision board or whatever. Now, from a quick Google search, apparently he's talking things like potentially building a big-ass prison next to Disney.

Actually, I might have to pay more attention to this, as the little bit of looking into things I did do makes this thing look like a classic case of a corporation and a politician trying to out-petty each other until one guy is able to totally out-petty the other into submission. And as someone who doesn't give a shit about either entity, I am HERE for this stuff and everything it'll lead to.

The two parties largely just wait for one party to take a position, and then take the opposite side and say the other party is the devil and is going to get people killed.

Because it's equally funny how the Repubs have become somewhat anti-business.  Just anti-woke businesses, and those that push Dem narratives (i.e. all of tech).

It's sort of like how Dems pummel big oil.  The Repubs go after the woke corporations and hollywood types.

I think some politicians are absolutely as dumb and radical as they seem.  But I picture most drinking beers together and laughing at how stupid and gullible voters are.

Florida also removed a lot of Disney's district exemptions, which Desantis signed off on.  I'm sitting on the fence with all of this. I know that Florida is fighting back against all the child grooming practices that are popular - but on the other hand, it's the state using a type of force to punish.
But on the other, OTHER hand, it's not just Florida picking on Disney, the same law is applying to every business there. It's just that Disney has become entitled.
I'm just too wishy washy about it all. I only know some of it, haven't bothered to go down the rabbit hole yet. Maybe one day, but not today.

Shocked how there is hardly any coverage about the roving mobs of “teenagers” that went nuts in downtown Chicago.

What is the story behind all of that? What's the issue that is going on that made them decide that rioting was the best thing to do in response?
