Ehh, they were still pretty bad comments to disparage an American city.
Also, Baltimore isn't a shit hole. Some parts are still like the Wire, but other areas are pretty damn nice and fun. I often head up to Baltimore for events, dinners, games ,etc. The entire area from downtown to the inner harbor, baseball park, Fell's Point, Federal Hill and Port Covington area is nice. If you ever visit, Sagamore Rye is based in Port Coveington and is a nice rye. It has really grown and been rebuilt in the last 10 years. It is like every major city on the rebound. I'll admit it still has a ways to go.
LOL, you are giving Baltimore wayyyyy too much credit. I have been plenty of times, and outside of the few little parts you named, it is a complete shit hole.

Nah. I think the city reminds me of DC 10-15 years ago. Some parts are bad, but others, including on the northern end as well are not bad.

geeblock should be highly troubled by Elijah Cummings gerrymandered 7th district.
Oh, it is not as bad as mine, the MD 6th which the state assembly changed to get the R out of office. MD 6 is all of western Maryland, but then the swoops around to include the city of Frederick and populous portions of Montgomery County. It is totally gerrymandered to favor the Ds.
MD's Congressional District are just as bad the PA and NCs, maybe even worse.

While I am the first to jump all over the media when they pull dumb crap like this about guns, there could be some truth behind this.
My dad owns an antique (WW2) Russian SKS AK-47. It is only semi-auto obviously to be legal and he purchased it legally. The only difference between it and the actual assault weapons that the Russians used in WW2 is the firing pin. It still has the bayonet and everything. It is a beautiful rifle. We have shot it a couple times but it’s mostly a collector gun.
So, while the media is probably 100% wrong here, my dad does in fact own an AK-47 legally, just has had the firing pin replaced to only a semi-auto.
I threw in the "any real sense" to kind of cover myself a little bit, but I didn't realize this was a thing, so that's fair.
It's still deceptive journalism, though, since the very thing that makes an AK-47 objectionable and "scary" is the fact that it's an automatic weapon. I mean, I could hold up a store with an M4 rubber duck, and someone could make the case that it's "AK-47-like."

And was illegal to take into California, was also illegal to be in the gun free zone, and obv it's illegal to kill people. But more laws will certainly stop this, and it's disgusting that the gun grabbers don't even wait for the bodies to be cold before spouting their BS.

Well, they'll argue that gun crimes are happening on a daily basis and that there has been about one mass shooting per week, meaning the bodies never get cold before the next one.
I don't actually mind something like this catalyzing a discussion, but what bothers me is when they use the recency in an emotional appeal. If we're going to discuss it even minutes after, that's fine. Let's have a rational, civil discussion, where we seek effective and adequate solutions.
Let's not fly off the handle and say that if you don't agree with my position in both action and intensity, then you must hate the victims of the most recent event. That's what so many did after 9/11 with Muslims. They used an emotional appeal of the images of the victims and heroes during the attacks to vilify individuals who had been peaceful their entire lives, much in the same way people are vilifying the private ownership of guns by people who have been peaceful their entire lives.

Well there is gun violence everyday, but they don’t ever talk about that. Look at the murder totals over a weekend in Chicago. They are also almost all pistols. Yet the scary looking rifles are the ones they have a problem with.

Was there a motive given for this? Did he post anything on social media?
All I've heard is that he said he was angry and that he posted something about the book Might is Right on Instagram not long beforehand.

You want to see the rats scurry. Trump should ride into the rat infested areas of Cumming's district and ask what can he do to relieve them of their plight since they have been forgotten. The scurrying rats will be on two legs instead of four.
Come on...

You'd be right. It implies an intrinsic causal relationship between race and behavior.

It should be treated with about the same level of seriousness, yeah.

Seriously man, listen to yourself.

I didn't take him to mean it in the way you took it. At all.
Jumping to the extermination?
"Seriously man, listen to yourself."
