Mental illness can often be hard to understand.

Believe me, dude, watching you post over the years, we all can relate to that.

Do we know for sure QO is not a bot?  Because he has a tendency to post links along with a one  line, often non-sensical, comment....just like bots do!

There are countless examples of liberals being hypocritcal when it comes to this topic.

The stupidest thing here is taking a story about some coffee shop in Oakland and using as a summation of “liberals”.  I’m pretty liberal and I think the coffee shop is insane. But seeing how 95% of this message board is conservative, what if I posted a link to some nut job militia story and concluded how mentally ill “conservatives” are?  You would rightly point out the fallacy of my point.

You are in the minority of liberals then. That’s the problem. The regressives have take. Over the party. Hopefully PA shows that moderates can still win by denouncing pelosi and not being an idiot.

The majority of liberals who get a voice on social media are complete tards, which increases the separation between the 2 parties. (Same thin with the 18 alt right people getting played like they are the majority)

LOL,  you must not have been following the cake baker SCOTUS case and the conversation around it if this is your spin.  I am well aware anecdotal stories don't sum up an entire group of people.  I have been following the case enough to know what the main talking points have been from both sides.  Regardless, please reread your post and take your own advice, thanks.

Side note: congrats on the bolded part.  At least you are finally admitting you are pretty far left instead of pretending you're an unbiased moderate.

That's almost a thread in itself.

99% of people, myself included, never heard of "alt right" until August 2016.  That's when someone decided they were the perfect anti-mascot for identity politics, and literally overnight "alt right" was thing in the mainstream media.

There is a unity and coordination in the liberal media that is more than a little alarming - same stories, same agendas, same LANGUAGE.  Signaling and messaging, just like you find in political campaigns.  I don't think you see anything near that in conservative media.

That is a grandiose statement that is an opinion, not a fact. If I chose to focus on certain stories I read, I can make the same types of statements about conservatives. But just because I say it doesn’t make it true.

I don't know about that - just compare the language and tone coming from the LEADERS of the Democratic party vs. the Repubs, notwithstanding Trump.  They act that way because their base eats it up (same as Trump's).

You're talking a pretty angry bunch....cry-rage is a good description.  What has changed with Trump is the people in the media no longer try to hide it.  Lose their shit on a regular basis like they're rooting for the 0-16 Browns.

Good article regarding states splitting apart etc...

I like the article. Nothing is forever (50).

I believe it WOULD be more representative.

My college roommate back in the 70's was from Rochester, NY and often remarked how upstate would like to be separate from NYC area.

No doubt.  Currently the governor of NY is beholden to the liberal agenda, and big $$, based in NYC, so no fracking statewide for example, which runs counter to the interests of upstate NY, landowners, and those in New England wanting to heat their homes for a reasonable price.  Nuts.

Count Dankula once made a video of teaching his girlfriend's dog of doing a nazi salute. He did this to prank her and rile her up. A distasteful joke. But, the pug was cute.

He was just convicted in Scotland, where he lives, of being grossly offensive. No sentence passed down as of yet.

Let's hope that crap doesn't continue to creep over here.

I have seen numerous studies where the college aged morons think "hate speech" (broadly defined) shouldn't be protected. This is ridiculous imo. It is either all speech or none. And don't give me some bullshit about yelling fire in a movie theater.

Twitter is already beginning to censor conservatives while allowing liberals to tell people they hope their kids die in a shooting. Bunch of pussies to "suspend" people, willy nilly.  There are also articles about Fbook and youtube letting the SPLC to censor accounts. That organization is a complete farce and targets normal conservatve groups as hate groups

Problem is the Dems won't go for that - popular vote or nothing, with them.  Geography is not their friend, so they would strongly oppose any geographic strengthening of the electoral college (because they'd never win another election).

I just don't get the cries for a popular vote.  The, like, basis of our entire Democracy is that group think in San Francisco doesn't dictate how everyone else everywhere else in the country lives.  And that would also be less of an issue if the establishment-types in DC didn't have their power grab to run roughshod over state and local governments.  But centralizing power makes it easier to control people and take away freedoms.

Instead of thinking the world is going to end because of net neutrality, you'd like to see a little more concern for just how much power and influence Google, Twitter and Facebook have.  What Obama and Trump campaigns did with the data should be alarming, but hopefully the profit motive will prevent them from unfairly tilting elections (just imagine if they made their data and analytics available to only one candidate).

People pulling their hair out over Russia, when a handful of executives at a handful of companies can [and probably are] do much more damage.

And the issue is not so much what obama and Trump did with the data, it is how and why so much personal data was nonchalantly handed over by FB because somebody showed up dangling a few $$$.

Damn glad I have never signed up for FB or any other social media bs.

It's hilarious how "progressives" cry about disenfranchisement when it comes to using an ID to vote, yet it completely goes over their head they are pretty much advocating for their own form of disenfranchisement.  I will never want a popular vote, because I wouldn't want the fucking idiots in LA/SF/Chicago/NYC making all of the decisions for me, especially if I were to live in a state that lines up with most of my beliefs/stances.  A complete failure on our school systems for not teaching our students the purpose of all of these things.  I was pretty shocked to learn that most schools don't even have civics courses.

This is what I taught when I was a teacher. It was frustrating because I was very interested in the subject, but the students who found it interesting were few and far between.
