Yeah, the short lived love with Kim's sister was very strange.

I was more shocked she was allowed to sit right behind the VP. I'm sure the Secret Service loved that. It was just last year where Kim had someone use a rag to posion his own brother.

The entire thing is odd.  Am I the only one calling bullshit on NK trying to be diplomatic with this unified Korea bullshit?    It comes off as a trojan horse.

Oh, you are not. I am calling it as well. It follows the typical DPRK pattern. We are now in the cozy phase so they can get something in return, more money for something more likely. This lasts just a little bit, and once the Olympics are over, they will continue to launch test missiles and other shady shit.

It's propoganda, it happens all the time at big events like this. The media is too stupid to see through it. NK doesn't give a fuck about South Korea.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/02/12/top-dnc-official-dined-with-louis-farrakhan-iranian-president.html

Democratic National Committee Deputy Chair Keith Ellison attended a private dinner hosted by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in 2013, along with the head of the black nationalist group Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan.

Iran has been listed by the U.S. government as a “state sponsor of terrorism” since 1984.

But the dinner was not the first time Ellison was associated with Farrakhan.

Ellison attended Farrakhan’s Million Man March in 1995, and even publicly defended Farrakhan – who has repeatedly made anti-semitic remarks, and has called Jews “satanic” – according to a report by the Daily Caller.

Ellison has attempted to distance himself from Farrakhan, especially during his run for DNC chair in 2016, writing an op-ed for The Washington Post, painting his relationship with Farrakhan as limited to the 1995 march.

But Farrakhan slammed Ellison, posting a video to Facebook saying that Ellison and Carson visited him in 2015.

Former White House press secretary, now Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer slammed the media for not covering the latest Ellison-Farrakhan development.

"Once again, no feeding frenzy by the media. Don't let anyone tell you the press is neutral. They're not. Their silence is deafening. Ellison Attended Private Dinner With Iranian President and Louis Farrakhan in 2013 via @freebeacon," Fleischer tweeted Monday.

http://thefederalist.com/2018/02/12/dear-america-news-media-absolutely-hates/

"Let’s be clear about what this is: this is 15 year veteran reporter at CNN, Will Ripley, just straight up delivering North Korean propaganda whole cloth to an American audience, simply because it criticizes the Trump administration. Of course, Pence’s actions were intentional and bringing victims of this brutal regime to light was not taking the low road, it was showing North Korea what we think of them. But leave it to CNN to just parrot what any critic says about this country without a thought to context."

The liberal media love-fest for one of the most brutal regimes in the world is simply unbelievable. Psychotic.

I wasn't a fan of the sister of Kim being in the box with Pence, the love she got from the media, all the love for the "cheerleaders", or anything like that. I also applaud Pence meeting with the defectors and the father of Otto.

But, Pence not standing for the unifed Korean team was dumb as shit. It's not giving any power to North Korea. It is both North and South coming together under one flag, under one anthem, for this one event. Isn't that what the eventual goal is? A unified and peaceful Korea? Why wouldn't he stand and applaud that? It isn't hard. It's not like he didn't stand for the North Korea team, I get that, but this is for the unified North and South team.

It just looked dumb and he was the only guy in the place not standing. It made America look out of touch. Do we not want a unifed Korea?

Also, that picture in the article is not from this Olympics, again, the North and South both came together under a unifed flag.

I read that he didn't stand for any team other than the US. Have not looked it up to see if it's true, because I don't really care. The media response was all I needed to have enjoyment.

Agree with your take.  Not honoring the unified team was a bad move.  Doing that would not have equated to supporting Kim and his regime.  It would have been a message to the  world that our primary goal is to reunite the Korean peninsula.  Unification equals the demise of the Kims.  Supporting that is equal to wanting the regime ousted.

But this group's obsession with swinging our cock around trying to out-badass North Korea is pathetic.  Haing an enemy is the ONLY thing that keeps the North's regime in place.  We seem to gladly serve that role.  Pence is ignorant for not seeing this.  No one expects his boss to see it, but come on Pence.

Hey, makes it two countries where he's used the presence of one anthem or another at a sporting event as an excuse to grandstand!

It would have been honoring the Korean athletes and thereby the Korean people.  It would not have been honoring the Kims.  The extreme right and left wings have to make every occurance in the world somehow a political event between leaders.  Guess what, not everything has to do with politics.  Showing enthusiasm for a first step - albeit a tiny one - toward the Korean people having a chance to be together again is a good thing.  Showing how we don't like Kim by sitting down during a parade of athletes accomplishes nothing.

ANNOUNCER: And you can see US vice president Pence has decided to remain seated during an obviously emotional moment in the stadium - the united Korean team coming in.

KIM JONG UN:  Holy shit!  Come over here to the TV guys.  Look at that!  Pence isn't standing for the Korean team.  Holy F---!  I think...I think...Oh my God, I think he is showing his displeasure toward us in the North.  Jesus, he's really pissed.  Look at that stone faced expression.  Oh man, wow!  We've been taking this shit too far.  I mean I knew we could get under the Americans' skin.  But I never realized how pissed off at us they really are.  Man, oh man.

FLUNKIE #1:  Dear leader, you have made the Americans upset.

KIM: I know, I know.

FLUNKIE #2: What shall we do dear leader?

KIM: I'll tell you what.  Get our head of nuclear testing on the phone right now.  Tell him to stop his testing right this minute.  Tell him that I will put an anti-aircraft projectile right between his eyes if he doesn't dismantle his missiles this minute.

FLUNKIE #2: You got it boss.

KIM: This Pence is angry as hell.  We need to re-evaluate our whole show over here.  Maybe I need to seriously consider stepping down.  Do any of you guys know a good florist that delivers?

Like Trump did in the Middle East...see I can play that BS game too.

But, seriously, if it was just the North Koreans, sure I get it, but come on, it is the both countries.

Plus, even more, it is the host country, at least show some respect for them in their own fucking house by standing.

I would agree.  If its in the US and other diplomats sat on their hands....we would make a big deal of it.

Listening right now to yesterdays Joe Rogan podcast. He's got Jimmy Dore (very progressive/socialistic) on and they are just putting the democrat machine on BLAST.

I mentioned this and dropped the link the other day, but it got me thinking. The progressives have some thoughts that aren't that very different than some conservatives and libertarians. I watch Jimmy Dore because I'm interested in how other people think, how they come to their conclusions. But it's also interesting to me how ideologies always have their points that meet in the middle.

^^^holy shit, a liberal with a brain.....going to go buy a Powerball ticket right away

There's a guy who doesn't view his political support the same as being a fan of a team (where you're supposed to root unconditionally for the guys on the field).  But that's why the parties (and their media) have embraced that model - they want you to be a blind homer and unconditionally support whomever has the R or D behind their name.

I love how liberals act like the NRA is one of the only orgs giving money to people. Start spelling out how much people get from everyone, don't pick and choose you dolts.
