Yeah agreed. I thought Harris not focusing on the economy was a huge error. Instead, it was the Trump is a threat argument, which people don't care about anymore.

Agreed on Twitter, X. But, credit to Trump too for going on other media platforms like Joe Rogan and new type of media, podcasts.

Will Ds learn anything from it? I doubt it lol, but depends on how hard they want to go in on the whole Resistance 2.0.

This is a good opportunity for the Democrats to move back toward the center - they're so far left they've lost the common man vote.  They ran on two principals - abortion and Trumpisbad... and it backfired miserably.

A lot of her issues were the flip flopping and not giving a straight answer.

Trump was decisive and focused on the issues and repeatedly hammered that home. Every time I heard him speak he would be saying something like "do you like your grocery bill?, Is the country better off now than it was 4 years ago?", etc, etc.

If she would've come out and said "this is my economic plan and what I intend to do" she might not have come across as being so shady/elusive....like she was hiding something. This and being pretty unlikeable were big issues for her. If they trot out someone like Shapiro (PA) in 2028 they would have a better shot, imo.

Not picking Shapiro was a massive, massive misstep.  Tim Walz contributed nothing but poor headlines for Kamala.

You're wrong on Walz. He was a real good punching bag for Antonio Brown on Twitter. lol

Thank god this is over so my lady doesn't have to hear our 5 years old grandson say "OMG, Mimi....I so sick of Sherrod Brown." LOL

Gotta wonder how much Israel stance hurt Kamala too.

I actually think this could be the best thing that happens to the Dems. I get your "teach them a lesson" mentality here but maybe now they will slide back toward the middle and get a more even keel candidate than these radicals. I'm not guaranteeing that Trump will be the cure all but the country couldn't take a chance on electing that.

I hope you're right, would be nice.

I do hope that Republicans keep inching away from the establishments order. Maybe the Dems will do the same.

It did hurt her somewhat, according to the vote counts (Jill Stein and others). Looks to me that many people weaponized Trump again rather than color outside the lines.

While I'm not a fan of Trump, I'm kind of glad the Senate went Republican.  At least stuff will get through.  4 years of locked up arguing - I don't want to listen to that. Trump has no excuse to not execute on his promises to fix everything.  I hope it works.

Josh Shapiro. I immediately questioned Kamala's choice if VP as soon as she announced it. Pennsylvania would have given her double the votes that Walz's state did. But he was too Jew for the razor edge she is walking on.

Eh... this falls squarely on Biden. There's no way he didn't know how unpopular he was, right? He shoulda said he wasn't running again, had an open primary, then given that candidate a chance to run a campaign. Dropping out right before the election is on him IMO.

You are under the impression that he chose to drop out?

Every other American realizes the DNC higher ups forced him out after his dementia was on full display at his lone debate.

They couldn’t keep up the Weekend at Bernie’s gig up anymore.

He was forced out, he didn’t choose shit

I agree with others on here that Biden shares most of the blame as he took way too long to drop out.

Credit to Trump. He knew his issues were the economy and immigration and those carried the day for most people.

I just hope his tariffs do not screw up the economy, but we will see.

Biden didn’t choose 💩  he was forced out once they couldn’t hide his dementia anymore.

Which one?

Her ad in Michigan that supported Palestine or the ad in Pennsylvania that supported Israel?

It’s almost like she forgot the internet existed and wouldn’t be called out for that.

So my centrist hope was the DEMS would have a route like this and make the right come back to the middle. Mainly becasue I didnt see a path where Trump would win a route. That was obviously wrong, and so I am now in the same mind as you and hoping the Dems adjust. It is their only chance, really. The first party that migrates back to the center will sweep for awhile until the other side joins them. At this point, it has to be the Democrats moving first.

I was laughing because someone speculated that Biden secretly wanted her to lose by making some of his gaffes/comments in public after they did him dirty (garbage comment, etc). Kind of a nonchalant heel turn.

I hate to tell you... but the Republicans have already moved.  They beat you guys to it.

No I'm not under the impression he chose to. I'm sure he didn't WANT to. It's still on him for fighting it so long though. I'm positive it wasn't the first time it was told to him though. You heard rumors of Obama and Pelosi wanting him to not run again. Those didn't come from nowhere. There's zero chance that he wasn't fighting it till he couldn't anymore.

They've moved towards fighting fire with fire and trying to beat the Dems at their own game.

Can't say I'm surprised. Probably wouldn't have been surprised if it'd gone the other way. Have so many alleged experts giving their predictions and it's easy to believe anything, even though (or especially because) so many have so little credibility in the end. Like the complete idiot who was calling Iowa to switch 10+% from last time and go to Harris. That pollster is never gonna be taken seriously by anyone ever again.

I'm just glad it's hopefully essentially over. These election cycles just get more stupid and obnoxious as time goes on. I mostly just avoided social media and news media for all of last night and focused on MAC-tion, with the occasional look at what was trending on Twitter. That was enough entertainment for me to watch people go from "We got this!" to "We can still get this!" to "We need stuff to go right to get this, but that happened in 2020 didn't it?!?" to "Oh...FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!!!".

So they cheated to beat Trump in 2020 but didn’t cheat so they wouldn’t beat him in 2024? Makes sense.
