What's the menu? Bet I could do it. Local grocery store has frozen birds on sale for 49cents/lb and a 5 pound bag of potatoes for $1.99.

With our Meijer perks we got a 16 lb turkey for a little over $6.

55% of the vote is what is now required for a “mandate?

It's obviously something more than just winning the election, or we wouldn't talk about "mandates" only winning.

And it's certainly greater than 50% of the popular vote, which Trump didn't get....

I think this is interesting, in a way:

I wonder if those people were eligible to vote but just weren't registered or if they simply couldn't be bothered.

Sure about that?

To be clear, I’m not questioning your 55% number, it’s just something I’ve never heard before.

Was more curious if there was some political research to back it up or if it was just a made up number?

I have never heard of the mandate thing but I hope this doesn’t signal the future of our politics. This will then give the other side the ammo to do it and I don’t think anyone wins in that situation.

I also don’t see any benefit in inciting bad blood from our two closest neighbors. No way this can go well.

Well, it's too late for all of this. The Dems have already done both. And it's not going well.

With that being said - it is my hope that 1.) Trump can manage to calm things down on the world stage and 2.) Trump doesn't go after those Dems who were the purveyors of political persecutions, lawfare because he has the "ammo". While he may have just reasoning, our country doesn't need that right now. And, I'm rather content for the Dems owning that particular stain in this nation's history.

Fuck Canada and Mexico. They literally can’t do anything without us.

As far as Canada goes, the US gives them billions and billions to subsidize their military.

So, I agree with ICL - fuck Canada.

And outsourcing because of greed is about as ignorant and uninformed as it gets.  Just regurgitating leftwing propaganda.

Yes, they have marginally increased profits from outsourcing.  But it was either that or slowly die.  You can't have a 10-20% cost disadvantage on labor and expect to compete.

This is the old, tired Walmart argument.  For years and years people lamented jobs going overseas, but they kept going to Walmart to fill their shopping carts with cheaper products.  And if you wanted your company to survive and compete with that, then you outsourced overseas, too.

Canada has already called and said they will work with Trump to secure the border and Mexico has said they will turn around caravans. Seems like the threats of tariffs are working

Sleeping at a summit with world leaders, and they told us he was fit to serve (for four more years, no less).

Always fun when narratives collide with reality.

Good on me for actually looking at the thread to see that's a parody account and not the real version of that leftie guy I vaguely recollect for some reason that probably relates to him being one of those always-online social media clowns. Makes sense; not like people with anything going on in their lives should be wasting their time on random dipshits like Rugg. Well, except for other random dipshits like that -- hence why I checked to see if it was real or parody.

Be a very fulfilling job to put fake stuff on social media each day.

When it comes to social media and politics, the main thing I've determined about that marriage is that some very, very weird-ass people have finally found their calling with ideas like, "Hey, that there's a leftie who's always posting shit here...I know! I'll spoof him with a fake parody version of him and his takes! WINNING!!!"
