A lot of kids the are "tweeners" will end up at say a MAC school instead of an 1AA school by being at a higher profile program with a respected coach who has connections.

That is the difference.

Naturally if you are like a Curtis Enis then it doesn't matter that you are at a small school, but for most, that's not the case.

Exactly..you will definitely be found at a big program. Not always the case with the not so well known programs around the state. And to think that talent will always get you exposed is just plain idiotic.

It was just two years ago that Union Local had a quarterback that they regarded as a superstar. I don't believe he received a Div. I offer from anyone, not even the MAC. Had he played for Big Red, he would be in the Big Ten right now.

Back in the 80's before Edison combined all their schools, there was probably one of the smallest high schools in the state. Stanton Hi School. A kid named Blaine Rose got a football full ride to Maryland.

Sure, nobody said it doesn't happen. I said you have to have people get your name out in order for it to happen. I'm sure that kids parents, coaches, or school made sure they got tapes or spread the word about the kid. I doubt it was just his talent that brought Maryland in to look at him.

Why does everyone care so much about open enrollment? It is the parents CHOICE. Bottom line. If Big Red is getting more kids to go to their school then the question should really be why is a child leaving a school he has been at for 9 years to go a new school? To many schools use "last name" rights for their sports teams and Big Red appears to be one of the few that uses talent over name. That could be one reason to transfer to BR. Plus BR plays a lot of their kids through out the season. Where as most local schools play about 16 kids all season long.

Also if BR is getting all these kids why have they dropped down a divison a few years ago instead of going up one?

Correct me if I'm wrong...but I believe Steubenville just went from a Division 4 team in 2008 to Division 3 last year. That is moving UP a division..not down.

We are one of the smallest Div. III teams in the state. There is a good chance that we will drop back down to Div. IV in 2011.

Some of us players used to go in groups wherever big red was playing to watch and cheer them on.The kids from other teams don't care about what other teams are doing.It's the adults that screw everything up.It's stupid.Peaple even you SOS say some pretty stupid things.

how is where I work related to where I am from and what team I support? I just asked a simple question and you are blowing up. I guess maybe the moral of this is I could care less who supports who, but its not fun to have cheap shots taken at you is it? Sometimes people forget their roots and find it easy to poke others when you have people in your corner poking as well. It just seems that your a lot different on a computer than in person, you seem to be a nice person on the street, but different on here.

Either way, I am not faulting you for who you support or why. I would just like the same respect.

Creek should be respected for what it is and that is a school. They have some great teachers there. You hear all this bs that goes on but you never here about alot of there teachers that stay over twice a week to help tutor their students or the ones that skip lunch to help out students that need help with home work. Sports aside Creek is one of the best schools in the valley.

Sos i am a nice person in both respects.I have never taken a jab at you or creek.EVER.Every once in a while though you take a jab at me and put ny business out there for no readon at all.This time you jabbed at me for saying big red goes up and down division all the time.Why did you jab at me for that?

If he had done equally as well as Big Red's quarterback, for sure he would have gotten some Div. I offers. I think he ended up at Lake Erie College or somewhere like that. That's where you go when you don't get any exposure.

He wouldn't have done as well as Big Red's QB, IMO. Maybe playing behind a better line would've made him a little better (not that he wasn't good just not even on the same block as Collaros or Macon even) but the B10 is stretching it.......
