1_beastHell with merging...heres whats on the table if Southeast dont pass the emergency levy in Nov.
http://www.facebook.com/#!/notes/vote-yes-on-southeast-local-school-levy-wayne-county/budget-deficit-and-plan-of-action/437740569927
I recommend to the board of education the following major cuts: Per Superintendent Dr Mike Shreffler
We will close Mt. Eaton Elementary School, Fredericksburg Elementary School and Holmesville Elementary School.
Apple Creek Elementary School will be renamed and will be configured as a primary school grades PreK-3.
The current John R. Lea Middle School will become an intermediate school and will house grades 4-6.
Waynedale will become a Junior/Senior High School and will house grades 7-12.
The RIF list will include approximately 12 elementary teachers, 4 secondary teachers, and possibly 1 special education teacher.
There will be no primary art, no agricultural classes, and no computer classes at the junior high level.
The classified RIF list will include 3 secretaries, at least 3 custodians, at least 3 library aides and a number of other aides.
The administrative RIF list will include at least 2 administrators. -
Red RumCan't be my dad, Miyagi. He's way to busy helping me tag team your daughter. By the way, she needs some more of that ambulance chaser money, we're almost out of Thunderbird and prophylactics.
Waynedale without Ag classes would be like catholicism without the pope. Hope the levy passes. -

Mr. Miyagi thought that Dalton / Orrville rumour was true a while back. What a way to get a levy passed...... No offense.. but do you think if all schools would threaten to consolidate with Orrville that all the levies would get passed ????
I think it was thrown around, never really going to happen. Seriously, how many schools are going to consolidate when a levy fails one or two times? It passed the next time in a landslide. But who knows at this point. As far as yschoold wanting to merge with the with the riders - athletically, great, academically, well... -

I'm just pondering here ... Isn't it funny how when a district is in need of financial cuts and the superintendent makes lists like this there is always one missing.1_beast;491828 wrote:Hell with merging...heres whats on the table if Southeast dont pass the emergency levy in Nov.

Mr. RussellActually Miyagi, they are calling for the coaches' heads in Smithville.......It's ridiculous.
If any of you Smithville fans who want to bash Keith Schrock and call for his job are reading this, I want to ask you this question. If these WCAL and Area teams were missing these players; How would their teams do this year?
Dalton: Blevins/Hackett
Northwestern: McKean/Neer
Tuslaw: Burrow/Miller
Orrville: Simpson/Turner
Wooster: Daughterty/Price
Rittman: Bauman/Turbeville
Hillsdale: Fulk/Moore
Triway: Carmichael/Polen
You take your two best players off any team, you aren't going to win around here! That simple! When 90% of your big plays come from Roseler/Bates, you aren't going to be able to win without them. If Schrock and Co win three or four games this year it would be their best coaching job yet. -

Totally agree with this..........everyone has all the answers, try coaching with your best talent dressed in
street clothes. -
Havin FunGot to hand it to luckydog. That may be one of the most eye opening posts I have seen in some time. You take Bauman alone off Rittman and they don't win a game all year. Without Carmichal and Triway wins what, 1 or 2 games? I think Bear fans, including me, need to look at our team too. We have two brand new QB's and the starter gets hurt in first scrimmage and gets first live action in weeks 2 & 3. All-Ohio DB Phillips gets hurt in week 2 or 3 and misses the Rittman game and maybe this week. We have no one else with his size and speed to shutdown who can shutdown Turbeville.
Injuries are killer to D5 and 6 teams. If you avoid them you can be successful. If the bug hits, you are screwed. I feel sorry for Smithville but the counter-point my friends bring up is that this decline is not just for this year. It is going on 4 or 5 seasons now. -
Mr. RussellWhile my above post should raise some thoughts to everybody's heads, I want to also remind everyone, I am aware that injuries do happen and coaches and players must get through them.
Smithville's past three years:
2007: 3-7, Starting QB Bates gets hurt against Waynedale, misses 4 games; Starting FB/LB Fox, misses 3 games.
2008: 6-4
2009: 4-6, Starting RB/CB Rehm, misses 3 games.
2010: 0-4 Start
Every program has dry spells, the scary thing is, in 2006, when Smithville was 9-1, if Kevin Beichler or Corey Bescanson went down, it could have been a 3-7 or 4-6 season easily! Smithville had extremely had hopes this year and still does for the rest of WCAL play. Next year, 18/22 positions will return for the Smithies (almost the entire line that has been able to control the l.o.s. in the first four games), with Bates back as well...They will be extremely competitive. With that being said, I could still see the Smithies winning 5 this year. -
George198Mr Miyagi;491710 wrote:Red Rum"s dad.........the kids are reading this forum too...... i think your post is going to make coaching a lot more harder...... NWN needs to show some solidarity, some positivity...... the kids could get behind that....the fans should get behind that, nothing worse than working hard at practice and come home and hear from the adults that all the hard work you are doing isnt going to work.
Maybe if you feel so strongly about "change" and the last 3 years you should have a sitdown with Coach Thut and let him know your true feelings and how you think you can help the situation. Mr. Miyagi thinks ,why not go on the NWN Football Facebook page and voice your opinion where you can't hide behind a screen name,,......dont tell us about change we cant do anything about it ..... posts like yours and rabbits are only causing more bleeding when we should concentrate on stopping the bleeding.
NWN definetly doesnt need to run Thut out of town. Do you have a name of any previous coach that has done what Thut has done and stayed around the program instead of jumping ship? All teams will have some down years, are people calling for Coahces head in Smithville because they are 0-4 ? patience george san
Mr. Miyagi I have nothing to hide. I have had a sit down with coach Thut. The answer I got was "that is the way we've always done it" If Henry Ford thought that way we would still be riding around on wooden wheels.....Let me try this, how long would you keep trying to eat your soup with chop sticks, knowing it's not working before you switch to a spoon. What worked for Thut 11 years ago obviously is not working now, Why not do something different, change things up a little, try something new... -

You crack me up, man. And BRF's answer to your question is: yes. -
FalconCan't wait for the the Dalton/ HIllsdale battle this weekend. Over the last couple of seasons, I have watched this matchup slowly become a rivalry. I take my hat off to both programs, and good luck to both teams. May the best eleven on the field win. You just can't beat WCAL football.
-
madman11ahhh sorry folks i've been busy with school work....but back to my tribe
They are by far exceeding my expectations. They should be 4-0 at this point if they could have converted in the red zone against sandy valley. As for this week, i see them pulling off a big upset. I've never seen the team this focused in my life. GO TRIBE!!! -
ogs211more bad news for chippewa, starting safety got in a fight today at school and will most likely miss the game this week.
-
hipsledMiyagi......You do not have a clue......anyone from NW reading this thread knows who George198 is..Hell it's his real name and the only George i believe in the whole District.........You obviously don't know the kids because they all feel the same way years before these posts........You sure as heck don't have a clue how many sit downs with the coaches have occurred which have been several...No one ever said they want the coach out of there.....We just want a little, just a little less predictable play calling in and out of our 4 play spread( read my last post) The kids want that so bad!!! .....I talk to Smithville people every day who say Schrock is hurting the program more than he is helping it.......No doubt he is a legend and the previous post is right about this being his best coaching job ever to get this team to 3 wins ....but it is time...........I agree 100% that in this league you lose one or two players it could be devastating but you see we are already losing big with everyone( one game without Neer) so what the heck lets try somethin...you can't tell me that if you were watching or coaching this , you wouldn't want to at least try to change it up................or we could just be the most consistant predictable team in the league...................

huskiedad2I have read and agree to abide by Ohio Chatter rules.......well, well, well I've been away for far too long but fear not Huddle outcasts I have decided this fall to take my talents to....Huskie Land. Somethings never change-quit your sniveling, whining and wheeping about the play calling-maybe you have just gotten beat by better teams? None of your losses have come to slouches-and dont think that the Smithies and GBears are in that category either. And if any NW players are following this thread or adding to it-read and take note. Excuses (although they flow like a raging river on here) are like-you know what-so man up and play some football. The best way to silence everyone is to go out and kick some WCAL butt. You drank the kool-aid too. Your coaches arent the problem, the play calling isnt the problem, the lack of execution of the plays called is a problem, taking a series or two off to "catch our breath" is a problem (then we've spotted our opponent 12-14). And learn how to tackle already. You guys have looked p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c in your losses-as a matter of fact you didnt look great in your lone victory (I'm pretty sure BR is 0-4 and thats not helping in the computer points). Man up, start taking some of the responsibility for this dismal start, dont read the paper, practice hard, eat your vitamins (brother), and go play Husky football like we know you are capable. I'm back and I'm out!
-
Havin FunAny update on Roesler/Smithville and Phillips/Waynedale this week? Any other injuries on these teams?
-
Red RumThank you huskiedad2, well spoken and I agree 100%. Just when I was beginning to think everyone from NWN except Miyagi & myself was a "blame someone else crybaby", You come along with some much needed TRUTH. Once again, Thank You.
Hips, I realize everyone who disagrees with you is clueless, but huskiedad2 is right and yes, we all know who screamin' George is. (I'm not going to out anybody on this forum) It's hard to ignore his embarrassingly loud diatribes on how things ought to be.
We've offically beat this horse to death. We have a good coach who knows what he is doing even if we don't always get it. If the players are reading this stuff, they should stop listening to the armchair QBs (myself included) and start hitting. The results will come.
and also Hips, stop trying to drag Smithville into this. They have alot of posters on here. Let the Green Machine faithful bring it up. I know your looking to support your arguments but Smithville & NWNs poor starts have nothing to do with each other. They are 2 different teams just trying to avoid injuries and win football games. -
Mr Miyagiyes Hip, everyone knows George and his constant loud bi#!in whining outside the lockerroom saturday , lets get the baseball coach fired mouth and we also know the different George that got the NWN soccer program started (OMG....2 Georges in the same district????? If you were a true husky fan you would know that..... who is clueless now hick sled?? ) Mr. Miyagi says kudos to you Huskiedad2 for recognizing poor execution poor tackling and the quality of the teams they are playing.. Mr. Miyagi hasnt had them favored all year until this week and it wasnt because of the play calling or coaching. (but don't mind Mr. Miyagi, Mr. Miyagi doesnt have a clue and Red Rum is blind)
ya know the other day Mr. Miyagi was getting his lottery ticket and thought everybody knows Mr. Miyagi always buys his lottery ticket the same way....... so Mr. Miyagi says hmmmmm i need to .....CHANGE THINGS UP!!!!! Why didn't Mr. Miyagi think of this earlier (because Miyagi doesnt have a clue) so Miyagi asks the clerk if she could please rub Miyagi's ticket on her arse and give it a sloppy kiss and she tells Miyagi "that's not the way we run things around here" how dare she....doesnt she know how hard Miyagi has worked to win the lottery?if she would just CHANGE THINGS UP maybe Miyagi will win the lottery !! so Miyagi goes to the store manager and says Miyagi wants to CHANGE THINGS UP and win the lottery, but the manager says " but she is a good clerk and knows what she is doing" so Miyagi says " if she refuses to CHANGE THINGS UP, maybe the clerk needs to CHANGE" so Miyagi goes somewhere different and CHANGES THINGS UP and still loses the lottery.........different clerk different store same result and crying isnt going to get Miyagi any closer to winning
complaining on this forum is not gonna get you guys anywhere. if a team doesnt execute you will get the same result. Miyagi swears you guys are gonna complain when you win on Friday ..(son of a gun we won!!!!.....but i dont like the way we won, we didnt CHANGE THINGS UP enough!!!! But the kids played great and executed and actually tackled.... but we didnt win like i thought we should and we arent going to win next week CHANGE!!!! )
Red........beating a horse to death???? why is it always the same horse ...everyone knows how we are going to beat that horse, it is so predictable. no one will even send a scout team to watch us do that..... we need to CHANGE THINGS UP........maybe cut a horse to death with a chainsaw. no one will see that coming .... or maybe kick it in the b#lls. that worked once it should work again, if it dont we will just change horses
a dead horse is a dead horse.... (but i dont like the way we beat that horse it was to predictable) ( if i complain on this forum maybe we can beat the horse a different way)
wax on wax off , have an egg roll on me (wait ..... was that to predictable ???....... Miyagi doesnt know Miyagi doesnt have a clue) -
mompovDalton's buildings are older than most in the county. Something must be done with them. They cost so much to repair and operate. Heck, the gym at Kidron was a one room school house! Now it's the cafeteria! We've been appropriately imaginative with what we have for years, but it's time.
If we can pass the building I think Dalton stands a good chance of growth that will a) help pay the levy and b) keep us from consolidation and c) keep the mighty Bulldogs rolling!
Will take Lint back this week for as little or much as he can do! The subs for Kandel are performing admirably so I don't really look at us as unhealthy. I just hope we can stay that way. I worry about all "stuff" that's wrong that happens in a pile but doesn't get caught. Don't tell me it doesn't happen.
Hey 1beast! Don't you have a boy wrestling? Is he a fresh or sophmore? -

That "stuff" in the pile has and will always go on. That "stuff" goes on as far up as the NFL, players just have to deal with it.mompov;493506 wrote:Dalton's buildings are older than most in the county. Something must be done with them. Lets talk FOOTBALL!! -
mompovOkay, lucky dog, I say Dalton eeks out the win. Big guys slip in the mud more! Weather will be a factor. Hackett too versatile for Hillsdales defense.
-
THE4RINGZI repsectfully disagree. Wet weather favors the Falcons. If it becomes three yards and a cloud of mud, that is Hillsdale's strength.
Just saying -
Mr MiyagiMr. Miyagi agrees with RINGZ. Muddy weather favors Falcons. Mr. Miyagi has seen Hillsdale play St Johns but he has not seen Dalton yet this year but he knows Dalton has a lot of speed. The key for Hillsdale will be to control the ball with their running game and not fall behind where they have to play catch up. Mr, Miyagi is looking forward to this game and he will be there as a neutral observer. good luck to both teams
RITTMAN / NORWAYNE is also interesting.....anybody have any thoughts ??? i have seen Norwayne play and they seem to be more inclined to be a running team but dont know to much about Rittman. -
Red RumNow that the Husky vs Husky squabbles have died down, lets make peace and move forward. Nice to see some new blood on here, even if we disagree. It's not too late to save the season and it starts with Chippewa. Go get'em Huskies!
Hopefully the weather won't play a role in the Falcon/Dawg battle. It deserves nice weather and a dry field. My heart is kind of with the Falcons, 40 years is a long dry spell but betting against the Hackett/Lint/Blevins terror trio is a sure way to go broke. May the best team win.
Waynedale/Smithville-I haven't the slightest who will win but I think it will be a high scoring affair (weather allowing)
If the tribe takes out backyard rival Norwayne, even I, who hasn't given them any love all season will have to concede they are a contender.
It looks like another wild weekend in the WCAL
