I think the point was made about those horrid looking "USC look-a-likes" we used to have.MANAZE wrote: haha depends on the colors they choose that year for the red and gold. we've had some ugly combos. -
bigman91Sam, How are doing sir? You making an appearance at the scramble this year. I had a great time last year and look forward to this year. This year it's at Red Oaks, I do a little better here, I lose less golf balls. Hope to see you there.

I was just talking about about it yesterday... I have not heard any info on it. You know more about it than I do I guess lol I would like to attend.bigman91 wrote: Sam, How are doing sir? Skin_ManThe indian creek golf outing is at red oaks on jun 12.
Should be a great day, and the change of course will not change the way things are ran.
Other than the new course you won't see many differences, they are collecting prizes and hole sponsorships if anyone is interested in donating. -

I will be there... I can actually make it this year. I have heard a ton of great things about the outing, can't wait to have a little fun and be around the Redskin NationSkin_Man wrote: The indian creek golf outing is at red oaks on jun 12.

I think this will be a good opportunity to break out the "official SoS T-Shirt" -
WooHaa!
LMAO!sonofsam wrote: A Big Red is a horse, school, town, team... Hell, its everything if you want it to be... I call my toilet "Big Red" even though its a cream color.... But I do have the famous horse blowing smoke painted on it... I usually hit it right between the eyes when I take a dump. -
bigman91Sam, Sorry I didn't get your message until today. I look forward to meeting you this year. What can I do to get one of those SOS T-Shirts?
Indian Creek does an outstanding job with the golf scramble, I have a great time every year. The food is great, and they have nice prizes. -

sonofsamSo is anyone else getting a team together for the scramble?

If building a team to compete at a fundraiser was the point, I think those people should check themselves. I am not the best at golf, I am going to have fun and support the Redskins... If luck be it that we would happen to win, then added bonus... But June 12th is all about Redskin Pride.MANAZE wrote: Unless it scramble eggs count me out I suck at golf... -
sonofsamI'm so sick of that other thread... It never changes. I'm more interested in how we are coming along this year rather than the draft.

MANAZEIts funny that we complain about this but when my grandfather and his brother was in HS he was recuited by Massillon. They offered my great-grandfather a job for at least four years and if the youngest brother was good as the other two he would have a job for almost ten years. They didn't go though because my great-grandfather didn't want to get fired from his job when he no longer had kids playing there.
My grandfather was a pretty good athlete in his day. Woody Hayes even went to his house to try to get him to go to Ohio State but he decided to become a Marine instead and then when he got out he was offered a try out for the Browns but stayed here to work as a Union Pipefitter because they made more money than the pro athletes. -
sonofsamYou know, it not really complaining... Its just the fact that I am so sick and tired of arrogance of people that can get away with something and they feel the need to gloat about it. THAT is what gets me. No one likes someone who brags about themselves and the fact that no matter where you go in THIS town, not just Steubenville you have to put up with it. Like I said before, I really DON'T care who, what, when, where, or why Big Red does, I just am sick of hearing all the bragging and "We do no wrong" speeches.
You know, a few years ago, there was a sign erected at JCC about the IC levy. Low and behold the almighty people from Steubenville threw a fit. IC was forced to remove the sign. In the last month TWICE I have gone to Kwik King in Wintersville and found kids from Big Red at the door asking for donations. Whats wrong with this? The last time I went there, some kid asked me if I wanted to donate for some kind of athletic thing at Harding (what exactly he was collecting for I don't know because I couldn't understand anything other than donate and Harding) I told him politely "You are in Wintersville. If you were collecting for Indian Creek, I would gladly donate." On the way out of the store he asked me again. I told the kid "I thought we discussed this already". As I was getting in my car, he yelled at me again and asked if I would like to donate then giggled with his friend that just came out of nowhere. It ticked me off pretty bad. The first thing that went through my mind was about that sign that Steubenville couldn't bare to look at, but have no problem placing kids in our town to collect money.
Am I the out of line for feeling this way? I don't think so. At first I hoped IC would say something about the issue, but then I realized its not about that... Its about doing whats right and being the better man. Showing class... Of course I will continue to tell each kid from Steubenville that I find collecting in my town that I will not donate to them, but at least this isn't something else that can be twisted around on us and be thrown in our faces.
Bottom line is its not jealousy, its not envy, it nothing but annoying however Big Red attracts these players and we all have to hear about how no one else even compares to them and how good they are. It just gets so dang old. -
ovackerSon,
I live in Richmond and I was at Walmart in STEUBENVILLE and I donated money to the IC sotball team. Seriously, you need to find something else to complain about because you're talking nonsense now. -

Walmart is in the 6th ward. Along with the IC sign that was erected. Its not nonsense. Get your facts right before posting.ovacker wrote: Son,

That area is a grey area. It in Steubenville limits, but is part of IC school district. Both schools can freely tag at those places with permission from the businesses. Not sure what point you were making with that one. -
ovackerMy point is that IC students tag in Steubenville and vice-versa. Who cares? I, a Richmond resident, bought one of those discount cards from an IC football player. Since it is Richmond money should they have not taken it? Maybe you should call Coach Connor and let him know that if the donation isn't from an IC resident he needs to give that money back. I don't know if you get it but times are tough and if these kids are trying to raise money who cares what town or who the money comes from. Thank goodness there are a lot more poeple out there who donate to these kids than guys like you who give them a hard time. These are innocent kids out trying to fundraise. Sounds like they showed more maturity than you when you said those things to them. You are really giving IC people a bad name with your tireless nonsense.

ManO'WarSo SOS collects his paycheck in STEUBENVILLE yet always has something negative about the city, school, and people. Oh the irony!

Your post is nonsense. Did I say its not ok to donate to other schools? I would surely donate to Edison if I saw them tagging. What is your maturity issue with the way I acted? I politely told the kids that he is in Wintersville and not from IC. In case you haven't noticed, we do not get along to well with Big Red people. The fact is that there were NO grey areas, its was in Wintersville's limits and in IC's district. I'm not the only one that feels this way, so before you try to go preaching, I would ask yourself if what I am about to say really makes any sense or not. Your two posts made exactly ZERO points on the issue and left me in kind of a fog why you even decided to post them? If its just because you don't want to hear what I have to say or you don't like what I have to say, you have a few options... First there is a little button called ignore... You won't have to read anything I post anymore. two, you can refrain from reading threads I post on. Three, you can go look up some facts, come back, post something that actually makes sense and then we can go at itovacker wrote: My point is that IC students tag in Steubenville and vice-versa. And this has what to do with anything? Be happy I pay your city tax and also be happy that someone is very good at what they do... You never know when we could meet. It my just be your worst day and I'm the one that puts this crap aside to take care of you.ManO'War wrote: So SOS collects his paycheck in STEUBENVILLE yet always has something negative about the city, school, and people. ManO'WarThat has as much to do with it as you complaining who tags where. Do you complain about the Central taggers too??
Obviously the business owner permitted the Harding kids, so you should complain to him/her. -
GoChiefs
News flash, they would have to get permission to ask for donations at ANY business. Guess what, that means that Wintersville business didn't mind letting the Steubenville kids ask for donations. They are KIDS for Christ sake. No matter WHAT team they play on!sonofsam wrote: Both schools can freely tag at those places with permission from the businesses. -
MANAZEI get where SOS is coming from. I don't think its right to "invade" another schools district to tag but if the owner says its ok there is nothing anyone can do about it. I agree with the fact that it helps the kids but still Creek wouldn't send our kids down to McDonalds across from Harding to tag so Big Red shouldn't come that far into our district.
I know your thinking why shouldn't they but when you go to a place like Kwik King it has a lot of repeat customers and people who gave last week to one school might not give to the local school because they gave last week. -
sonofsam
Before you go all pro Big Red on me again, did you take the time to read the post about the sign that was CLEARLY in our School district that was force down by Steubenville people? These are kids for Christ sake! THAT is why they should not be allowed inside Wintersville/IC limits. It goes the same both ways. Before you yell at me about being anti-kid, look at the other side too. They are not innocent.GoChiefs wrote:

Also, they may not mind Steubenville kids ask for donations, but lets see what happens if we send IC's kids to tag at Speedway on sunset and downtown. Heck, it would be on the news by 6 and the Herald Star would be reporting headline news. -
CamomanKeep em downtown,
and let the Central people donate their own money, That is how their kids get to play...
