Indian Creek 2010

Not really sure of the details. I know coach conner was livid! He had to be restrained. John Hay was escorted off by police.

Well, they're 2-0. That's really all that matters.

From what I heard the other team was playing dirty all game and their coach wouldn't do anything about it and Connor had enough. I say good for him someone has to stand up for his players.

I know what you mean. last night i went to my old school to watch the Campbell memorial red devils play south range! South range played real dirty and so it happened! Number 5 our star running back was taken off the field and had to go to the hospital. The range kid tackled number 5 by the leg and twisted his leg till it popped his knee out. and as he was already down he laid the ball down the reffs gave range the ball and said it was a fumble. even the news caster that night said it was not/ and the dirty crap kept coming all night. the devils said they had enough and went into over drive and killed them 42- 21.. My second fav team is Indian creek. 8ll be there next week. i try to go to every other one. Cant wait till my son gets up to the high school and plays. he is a gifted kid takes after his old man!!!!

    Ask and you shall receive...

Offense played like dookie and our defense stepped up and won the game... How was that? lol Seriously though, we had a lot of trouble on offense. Our passing game took a break this week... The passes were rushed and our receivers had a hard time hanging on to the ball. I'm just glad that our defense was able to pick up the slack. To me the QB performance last night left something to be desired. The offense looks to their QB as a leader and he appeared to want nothing to do with getting hit last night. Not sure what was up with that, but I hope its fixed soon because there is Junior that made some very nice plays last night that can run and throw very well... I do credit John Hay who is a MUCH improved team from last year for some of the disruption on our offense, but I still believe we could have beaten them by 20 points if our offense was in rhythm. There were a lot of penalties, mostly on the John Hay side. Their right tackle was holding on pretty much every play. I also believe there was a a bit of jawing going on which drew some flags. When the game was on the line, Niko Otto stepped up. He carried the ball well and kept the clock moving. Hats off to the Creek defense, they played one heck of a game against a good John Hay team. Misdirection and speed can bite you and the Defense stood their ground. A win is a win, it wasn't pretty but I will take it. 2 down and its bear hunting season...

John Hay was not a bad team, very undisciplined. Cannot say much better of IC. The coaches "fight" at the end was not very good to have your kids see either.

I agree that seeing coaches "heated" is not good for your kids to see, but there wasn't an actual fight... It was a confrontation. Sometimes even adults can't handle a tough loss and some of the IC players were getting earfuls from them. Coach Connor stood up for his team and instead of the players doing something tha they would regret, he handled the issue. What took place was not out of line and if explained to your kids that what the coach did was protect his players, it can be used in a positive way. Kudos to Coach Connor for standing up for his players... I know he would do anything for them. I doubt we will see John Hay back for round 3.

Couldn't agree more !!! I believe it set football back 20 years LOL ... All i know is that every time JH was driving those little yellow flags were all over the field, 1 of the worst ref'd games ever. I bet penalties were 5 or 6 to 1 favor in odds of IC ...

Dude... Do you even think before you type? Take about the pot calling the kettle black! Wintersville 87? Inkster 09? Big Red has more flags in their favor than the middle east has oil... You have NO room to talk about flags, how many did you try to buy against Inkster last year?!?!?!

The calls last night we legit. John Hay was well coached, but unorganized on the field. They could have been flagged almost every play...

Yes I think before I type. No I'm not talking ( you say take) about a black kettle. Did you go to those games in '87 or '09? I went to the game in 2010 and know what i watched. I bought 2 of those flags at the booster meeting before the game. .. LOL .. How dumb does that sound? Buying flags !!! I really wouldn't say well coached. IC could have been flagged just as much. Numbers 4, 8, 21, and 15 could have got taunting all night but 8 only got it once at the end of the game. BTW 15 should have got one for kicking a player but instead the ref. jst got between them and made them shake hands. Now just worry about that big game this week with OAK GLENN.

So, this is pretty much going to be the same inconsistent, mediocre IC team?

Wintersville 87!!!!!!!!!! I was at that game and if the ref had called illegal forward lateral like it WAS then no big deal . Fact is the team that won that game should have although I didnt like the way it went down . Every town and school has a little bias by officials from time to time and more so by little hick town jobs then Steubenville for sure . Alot of times when Steuby plays a sorry city school alot of penalties like crack backs and holding and cutting knees out of the box are not called because we are up by 26 . But then a guy is out for a week or two if not more . As far as Conner standing up for his team I dont know about that I mean Its your home field with your fans ,your refs ,your police, your stadium and all John Hay brought was the bus driver . I dont think you guys had much to worry about . If a kid gets dirty then ring his bell . Its football knock the crap out of that guy as legal as you can IF YOU CAN !!!

Also how can you be well coached but unorganized on the field that makes no sense.

He turned an inner city school into a good football team... Sometimes the inner city mentality comes out in players, you can well coached and still have "situations".

I guess. But I see some dirty crap from some very established teams . Undiscipled is like offsides all the time and doing stupid stuff blatent stuff but I see that at all levels to some degree. If a player is out there taking swings at people and very late hits a coach needs to sit him down . Controlled anger is the game . Controlled rage . I know Big Red pushes it to the limit and I wouldnt want it any other way . But you cant hurt your own team . Ive seen alot of farm boy schools be as dirty as any inner city team . they just get there butts kicked more because they rather be watching NASCAR or a tractor pull or stealing copper wire , rather then learning the great game of football.
I am just joking around before all the hate mail comes my way . just using a sterotype like inner city kids are always undisciplined . Ive seen both sides of the coin . Ive seen some inner city schools very undisciplined and I have also seen some extremly well disciplined . Bucktel was well behaved and disciplened the other day when I saw them and those Florida teams may have been inner city dont know but they had there act together for sure .

Once again a few of the Big Red posters have their "boot on the neck" of the IC posters. Hey IC posters, it will only bother you if you let it. Ignore them...you don't need their approval of your team. It's not like it's some sort of badge of honor to have their approval or kind words about the IC football team. Enjoy the win...you're 2-0 for the first time in nearly a decade.

My original reply was because of the shot about 87 ok Mr Model . Without some of us Big Red guys on here I think this thread would be pretty boring . what fun is it anyway to just ignor people SOS doesnt and niether do I . Ill talk straight football .
I think IC needs to beat Oak Glen . It is a must win IMO . Yenz guys need to also beat Harrison and Edison and If you go 7-3 You will make the playoffs no problem

The "situation" after the game that caused Connor to storm the field wasn't induced by the John Hay players... It was the assistant coaches. Connor was WAY right in his actions... He prevented his players from doing something that they would have been suspended for and stuck up for his team. Total class in my book.

As for beating this team and that team, please don't take this a cocky response because I have been talking this year up all off season... We aren't in this to go 7-3... We want all 10. We are missing some very good players on Offense and Defense right now due to injury and we have kids stepping up to fill those gaps. Blake Roar #5 played BIG against Weir... We have a lot of sophmores as well. This team understands that they cannot afford to lose. Every week is a must win... Win and your in. Forget 7-3, this team is VERY hungry for 10-0.

You better solve that Ferry problem then . But everyweek is a grind because that confrence is evenly matched . you can not let Oak Glen slip by they will bring points and they are decent . Then I think Union has to be delt with and then St C all games winnable but could go either way .

We have a few more weeks before Ferry... One at a time. Its Bear season this week...
