I heard today that Southern WILL be at the scrimmage along with EL and Columbiana. -
MorgansRaidersThanks sonofsam! I appreciate the update.

No prob. Are you guys playing them this year or something? -
MorgansRaidersNo, actually I'm a reporter for the web site ITCLFootball.net. A couple of our contacts with Southern weren't sure if they were scrimmaging at Indian Creek, so I knew there are Indian Creek fans on this site to ask. We're just trying to get a preliminary scrimmage schedule put together. If you need any info on the ITCL, I'll certainly help you out in return.

sonofsamI have been hearing some very good things about the Redskins this season... It looks like we may have a team that has an excellent chance to win the B8 and grab our first Playoff appearance in 14 years...
Should be a very exciting season, RB/LB Niko Otto should have an excellent year. Niko will have the help of a solid LB core with Ludwig, Sharpe, and Yocum around him. The offensive and defensive lines look to be the biggest in recent years and have a good bit of athleticism. Ludwig should take over for Doran Thomas at RB and should surprise people when he gets to carry the ball. IC should have a handful of RB's they can plug in and keep the offense fresh. QB Adam Young could potentially own every IC record as a QB by the end of the season... The 2 1/2 year starter should have some nice targets to sling to including his younger brother who may lead the team at QB next year. There are quite a few younger players that could see some PT and potentially make a big impact this year.
The Creek is rising -
BuckCreekthat sounds very good, SOS. How are the numbers this year?
-
sonofsamNot exactly sure what the numbers are yet, its to early for an accurate number, but I do know they are up from last year. Still a decent amount of underclassmen.
The nice thing about these underclassmen is that they are hard workers and bought into the program. They are going to make the upperclassmen work harder to keep their jobs. Even though people still deny seeing it, last year was an evident change in the way this team prepares and plays. Things look very exciting over the next few years and we should see a Creek team that has confidence, plays with heart, and is putting in 110% effort. -
ferflogThere was a buzz about the Steubenville-Indian Creek game that I will miss this year.
-
CamomanYep I hear ya. The reserve teams that played each other back then are now seniors had a pretty good game.
...everybody will miss it. -

I have a feeling we will see another IC-BR game this year...
The focus right now is camp, and then doubles. One bite at a time. -

I hope you're right. I look forward to seeing Creek play Big Red. If we meet in the playoffs, there should be a huge crowd. -
Al CaponeThis is not a knock at Sam or Creek, but if Sam thinks this years team is more talented than last years team, than he is crazy. The thing that Creek has going for them this year is the schedule. They play Weirton instead of Big Red and play a Bellaire team that may not even have enough kids. The thing that Creek has to worry about is getting enough points off of these teams they are playing to make the playoffs. Seriously, they could go 8-2 or 7-3 and miss the cut.

Capone,
How do you consider me crazy? Let me throw a few things out there for ya... Since the new Connor philosophy took place last year, the kids have been working very hard conditioning and weigh lifting as well as working together as a team. This will be the second year of this philosophy, last years team was pretty darn young so a lot of those kids are coming back... Nice thing is they will have two years of boot camp under their belt, not just one. Quite a few kids made the commitment at the end of last year to focus solely on football for this year, taking the conditioning all through the year. It is a FACT that this year's O-line/D-line will be the LARGEST and maybe the most athletic sine Connor became head coach. This will be Adam Young's 2 straight year at starter. Niko Otto is going to find himself teamed up with a LB core with big time talent. Have you seen Adam Young's sophmore brother?? Hey may break his bothers records at QB over the next few years, but for now he is going to be an excellent target for adam to throw to...
Oh yea, this will be Coach Hammack's second year at Off. Coordinator, I would have to believe that he will be doing a LOT more for the offense this year than most expect. Coach Kucz has a defense this year capable of shut-outs... Not "a" shutout, S-h-u-t-o-u-t-s with an "s".
I'm not crazy. Wait an see. -
CthelitesGo Creek!
Sounds like we could have a nice team and Conner is turning it around. -

As long as the players stay the course, this season is going to be very fun to watch. -
CthelitesI've heard some of the kids that didn't play last yr might be going back out?
Have you heard anything about it? -
sonofsamI haven't heard any specifics, but I will try to find out. I will tell you that if they are there for the wrong reasons, they won't last. However, seeing what last years team did and how they came together makes kids want to be a part of the team. If they are serious about playing and they practice 110% then we are moving in the right direction...
-
CthelitesExactly SOS!
If you build it they will come! -
sonofsamCthelites,
you have a PM. -
MANAZEthey having midnight madness this year?
-
sonofsamMANAZE;404574 wrote:they having midnight madness this year?
No, midnight madness was done away with last year. -
MANAZEthat sucks, they doing anything else then?
-
sonofsamYep, Hitting the weight room and conditioning... Heard quite a few of he kids were throwing up last week from the conditioning. Much rather have a full weight room and conditioned players rather than being the first team in the state to do contact drills.
-
MANAZECan you smell that? I smell football!
-
sonofsamI miss living close to the high school... Even morning I would wake up to the echo of the fight song from the band.
