No stirring the pot, just speaking the truth. Last season I predicted Norwayne winning the league but losing in the playoffs. That too got everyone all fired up. I called smithville out for pounding on Akron North and said that will haunt them at some point. This year I am prediction the Chipps followed by the Cats. Smithville will underachieve but at least they get to play Dalton...Gobucks55;1808550 wrote:I would strongly venture to say that El Choppo is "stirring the pot". He isn't even a Chippewa fan. People in Doylestown know and understand they have some experience back as well as a lot of youth. They respect everyone, they understand the league race is wide open with Cats as the favorite, and they will be rooting like crazy for all WCAL teams in their non league portions of their schedules. Please lets not start the year casting stones at one another already. -
oldsmithieOf course he is stirring the pot! and at this point he is the only one throwing stones! The league is very balanced but I think Norwayne is the early favorite.

oldsmithieJust went through last years non league schedule. El Choppo wants to rag on Smithville's non league games, well take a look at the power houses you played!! Wellington 3-7, Beachwood 1-9 and both the Chipps and the Smithies played Tuslaw 6-4. Smithville played Akron North 0-10 and Fairless 3-7. Seems about the same!!!

Norwayne has the toughest non league games Manchester, Orrville and Div.II Akron Firestone.

TheWizardChippewa opens the season with a 42-26 win at home vs. Wellington.

Buck sweepAs if Chippewa has a great non league? Tell me a little more about this "it factor" I'm really curious. Anyways congrats to the chipps on the win and good luck to all wcal teams this week!

Chipp can't help their non league. The year before did't wellington make the playoffs and so did Beachwood.. But to schedule Akron North, c'mon. Then to beat them 74-12 is done right wrong. Even mooney didn't do that to them the following week. -
el choppoWCAL Predictions for this weekend
Chipp - win
Norwayne - win
Waynedale - lose
Smithville - lose
Dalton - lose
Hillsdale - win
Northwestern - lose
Rittman - win -
Havin FunNorwayne Smithville and Northwestern fight it out for the top spot. Hillsdale, Chippewa and Dalton in the middle. Rittman and Wayedale 7-8. Take your pick.

1_beastSkeptical about my Bears inexperience, but there is definately some athletes with potential. Not very deep imo, but if the familiar names stay healthy they could surprise ALOT of folks.
Then again, the Bears are slow, weak and non athletic....graduated ALLLL That talent. Poor us. -
scotmich
and smithville didnt!!!! 9 of 11 on offense, and 7 of 11 on defense!!! of course we made a deeper run in the playoffs the most!!! just sayiin!!!! i would say that smithville has the best talent but that means nothing on friday night..... our jv last year 9-0 7 shout outs again meaning nothing on friday night... score board "only beat tuslaw by 5,,,,, and on the last play of the game!!!! just remember most teams lost a lot!!!!!!!1_beast;1808649 wrote:Skeptical about my Bears inexperience, but there is definately some athletes with potential. 1_beastHillsdale jumped out with Northwestern to make a statement to Norwayne and Chippewa. Smithville with a BIG win over Tuslaw. Norwayne and Smithvilles opponents were the better oponents. Rittman, not sure what to think, RH ony has about 20 kids. Dalton was up 28-21 on Garaway at the half...? What happened there? Not sure how to comment on the Bears. I'll let wcalfan give his synopsis.
-
oldsmithieThe Tuslaw/Smithville game was a hard hitting hard fought game and had a lot of momentum swings. Tuslaw is going to win some games this year!! Both teams struggled at times but were pretty evenly matched. Good solid opening win.
-
1486wdDalton played well in the first half, but Garaways depth was the difference in the second half - too many two way players on a hot muggy night.

Speaking of humble pie....saw your name in the paper today....surprise, surprise. You still may need to save a bite of that pie when you finally have that talk with your son apologizing for ruining his high school athletic experience.Hunter86;1808706 wrote:You were meant to be as you don't have one of the Bear insiders club secret decoder rings.
