They're only meaningless if we're not ranked...LOL.Old Rider;1506142 wrote:Our Red Riders are 6th in the new AP poll. Meaningless I know, but pretty cool to see these kids getting some respect after last years season.
Lets go to Senior...roll the dice...and see what happens. Those kids put their pads on the same way we do...go get it!
We'll be the underdog for the next few weeks...so might as well use that as motivation. Same formula that's worked so far, get a lead, work the clock & lean on the defense.
Excited to watch the game at one of the nicer venues in the state. -
5knotsMy first Red Rider game of the year last Friday and Bam! winner winner chicken dinner X 2. Riders win #600 with great goal line stand and I win the 50/50! what a great night. Real impressed with the crowd...boy this town loves to win. really though, very good crowd. I missed HS football. I was a little shell shocked at the size of the kids looking so little. I am sure it is no different than always, I think Iv'e been watching too much B1G ball and had a little reality check when I looked out there. Tough hard hitting group of guys out there. Good luck the rest of the year.

RIDER DADThings did not turn out they we wanted tonight, but I am so proud of our boys, lots of heart out there tonight.

Could not agree more! This team has a ton of heart. These coaches are putting together great game plans. Need a couple wins to get to week 11. I think they can do it.RIDER DAD;1512971 wrote:Things did not turn out they we wanted tonight, but I am so proud of our boys, lots of heart out there tonight. -
RiderwannabeOrrvilles playoff hopes are getting less and less as eash friday goes by.

I disagree. They are in good position. Win against CF, and Madison and I think you are in. Get a win against Ashland and you are setting great. Wooster game always a toss up is there any Rider Fan that would count this team out at this point? Open your eyes...this team wants this and they are fighting to get it. I will take that every day!Riderwannabe;1514264 wrote:Orrvilles playoff hopes are getting less and less as eash friday goes by. -

, I think we are where we thought we would be, a lot of people thought we would be 4 and 0 and then the next three games would be the hardest and so far that's what has happened, not time to hit the panic button yet, its not that the kids have rolled over, still lots of fight in the dog.Riderwannabe;1514264 wrote:Orrvilles playoff hopes are getting less and less as eash friday goes by. -
RIDER DADAshland O line is probably the best or second best in our league, very solid group, but if we can play like we did the last two quarter of West Holmes, we have a good shot, we tend to play Ashland close, if I recall last year was a pretty close game. Need to balance out that passing game with the run from the start, the short passes seem to work when we used it, once Luke got the rust off Friday he looked good, and the beauty of this team is we have a balance of good receivers, not a super star so gives us a balanced approach. ok I will get off my soap box

jacoNot to be rude, but this upset ain't happening. Play the jayvees in the second half and make sure nobody gets hurt for the last three weeks of the season. Winning two of those last three will determine playoffs. There's no shame in being overmatched by a quality much larger school, and that's exactly what this match up represents. Madison, Clear Fork and Wooster will not be cake walks, so don't go in banged up.

That is a bad attitude. Did many think that Orrville could have beaten WH. That was one play away...that was almost made to being a victory. When you worry about injuries you get hurt.jaco;1514317 wrote:Not to be rude, but this upset ain't happening. sanitizerI watched Ashland play Wadsworth and I didn't see ANYTHING that would make me think we don't have a shot?
-
Red Rider NationIf we come out with the same gameplan we had against Senior and WH we will get rolled. We will NOT move the football by running up the middle. That doesn't work on teams that are much bigger than we are. I was bashed after the Senior game for saying why didn't we throw the ball in the second half-people said we have NO passing game. Friday proved otherwise. Why not set up the run by having a good passing game and mixing it up? If our gameplan is to run up the middle we will get run out of our own stadium. I agree our playoff hopes are diminishing. Just because we went to D5 doesn't mean 6-4 automatically gets you in. What does get you in is beating quality opponents and other than Triway and that one is arguable we haven't done that. Can we bet Ashland??? We shall see

unc4lifeSanitizer...if the only game you saw Ashland play was Wadsworth and that's the only game you are judging them on then you will be surprised by what you see Friday! Totally different Ashland then that night. Ashland's QB is playing so much better then that first game and I would say he is the best dual threat Qb the Arrows have ever had. I think the big thing in this game will be Ashlands depth in the second half. The arrows will
have to play sound football because they know Orrville will always bring a fight! -
Old RiderI have a good feeling about Friday!!! This team realizes that there aren't many more opportunities left this season and I think they let one slip away in Millersburg. That was a winnable game!! I think this Friday is the same. We are back at Red Rider Stadium and a chance to gather some significant playoff points with a win! They want that winning taste back in their mouths and I think that this Friday they get that back!
Go get it!! -

Great point and I agree. That system would take a few games to get the hang of it. I did think they had a "clever" passing game even against Wadsworth. I do think they will be better BUT I don't think they looked then or are good enough now to think Orrville doesn't have a shot. that is why they play the game. QB is one heck of an athlete!Sanitizer...if the only game you saw Ashland play was Wadsworth and that's the only game you are judging them on then you will be surprised by what you see Friday! Jaco Don't send your team to play Friday night, due to your post we figured we would forfeit the game, your team seems all big and scary, so thanks for the warning.jaco;1514317 wrote:Not to be rude, but this upset ain't happening. CCRollyNice to see the Riders having a bounce back season. Happy that I've moved to Avon Lake and get to see solid football a whole lot more also! Looking forward to that Week 10 matchup as always.

Riderwannabeword over here in stark county is that haley and slaughter are done after this yr of coaching

Haley was going to be done after last year. I sure hope he comes back as he is a great Coach. Have not heard about Slaughter yet but would not surprise me because football and basketball is a lot of time away from home.Riderwannabe;1515951 wrote:word over here in stark county is that haley and slaughter are done after this yr of coaching
