Series62post #1048 by rr1 "Love how the bar keeps getting moved.
Win on turf...but they were no good
Beat Triway...but they were no good
Beat Northwest...but they were no good...."
"Win on turf...but they were no good" Hence they scheduled a very weak team to improve their opportunity at a victory...how good was JM, really.
"Beat Triway...but they were no good" How really tough was Triway? That would have been accomplished last year if he'd listened to scouting reports and watched the film he did recieve.
"Beat Northwest...but they were no good" Is Northwest that good?
No one's raising the bar...I'll give credit to the fact that at least he's finally listening to someone else.
Think about it, perhaps he's reading my "bashes" and said to himself, "Self...that Series62 has a point, I need to see what all players, 9-12 can offer, I might find a gem, (Domer and Keontagh), and stop trying to play favorites all the time)!
Is that enough credit? LOL!!! -
Series62The riderwannabe post #1057..."its so nice when you dont come on here and say crap that you have no idea on wjat is going on. Stay back in your hole or go to mckinley and watch them .Or should i say it nice move the hell out of Orrville."
I have more of an idea than you have! You're a "riderwannabe"? Are you so very sorry that you have to want to be and can't? Are you so clumsy that they wouldn't even let you be a riderwaterboy? Some of you guys keep trying to insult and offend me by bringing up McKinley...it's not going to work.
NO!...I'm not moving! Now you can go and have your cry! -
GreatwhiteLot of talk down millertucki way about Devault puttin out his diss on West Holmes.
-
Riderwannabeok dont move just please vote yes towards all the levy.also thanks for all the support towards the players and coaches, you have no clue. just like hanging the wooster dummie
-
RedRider1Owens is making the most of the opportunity that came his way when Dyson & Inmann (Robinson) moved out. He's working hard and not letting anyone take that opportunity from him.
And what's this about the other coaches finally teaching Davault to trust freshmen & not to play favorites?? Do you really expect any credibility with that statement?
Monheim & Hoobler both played as freshmen while at Orrville & both are now Big10 linebackers...and from day 1 he's proven that if you're good enough, you'll play...regardless of grade or name. Domer is another example of that. -
sanitizerBeing 3 and 0 is right where this team needed to put themselves for the best opportunity to have success in the post season or the rest of the season period. I watched Wadsworth play Ashland and I also attended the Wadsworth Wooster game. Ashland was not that impressive but in that system by the time we have them on the schedule I am sure they will be better. Wooster has some serious talent but just seemed to have trouble putting it together? Both teams are beatable IMO. What is more interesting to me is to take a look at freshmen who have started for Orrville in past years…. Look at what they have accomplished. Every situation is different. Some teams were just not deep enough or didn’t have enough talent in the seniors or juniors but in the end all these young men found success in later years. Love to see these young men STEPPING UP and making HUGE contributions. It is clear that this team IS NOT going to lose because they are not trying or putting in all they have. Give me 11 young men that play hard and care and anything is possible. Do we have weaknesses ABSOLUTLEY! Talked with a few coaches this weekend and they all made that pretty clear but what they ALL SAID was that these kids play their asses off!!! As a former Red Rider that is ALL I can hope for and that is what RTR means to me!!! Did they beat three teams that they “should” have beaten??? IDK (If you read back in this very thread I don’t think anyone was SURE), in high school football anything can happen on any Friday night, that’s why it is so damn cool. BUT they did exactly what they NEEDED to do to be 3 and 0! That is big to me. In most cases winning the game you are supposed to win puts you in a pretty good spot to win some you shouldn’t…..
Go Red Riders!!!! -

I like how you put that!sanitizer;1501148 wrote:In most cases winning the game you are supposed to win puts you in a pretty good spot to win some you shouldn’t…..

You could add Zook and Summers to that list both lettered as Freshman. I would also say Hershberger as his wrist heals we get out there a bit more.RedRider1;1501105 wrote:Owens is making the most of the opportunity that came his way when Dyson & Inmann (Robinson) moved out. Heck of alot better to be 3-0 than 0-3, regardless of who you're playing. I think Orrville can make the playoffs with 3 OCC wins. And Wooster will likely have quit by season's end if the wheels continue to fall off.sanitizer;1501148 wrote:Being 3 and 0 is right where this team needed to put themselves for the best opportunity to have success in the post season or the rest of the season period. The biggest thing this team has going for it right now is that we have stayed healthy and we are playing with CONFIDENCE! We played with ZERO confidence last season and this group of seniors appear to be good leaders as well. All those factors have helped to the 3-0 start. We will continue to need the strong play of those seniors and the younger guys that have stepped up to keep doing what their doing (Sprowls, Owens, Simpson, Shaffer, Fitzgerald, Luke Smith, Domer, etc)...Keep it up Riders!jaco;1501248 wrote:Heck of alot better to be 3-0 than 0-3, regardless of who you're playing. What supposedly diss did Devault do, I have always found him to error on the side of caution when it comes to the bulletin board material.Greatwhite;1500994 wrote:Lot of talk down millertucki way about Devault puttin out his diss on West Holmes. -

Great start to the season! I'm a Rider fan too, but, I am tired of the references to last year. Yes, my son did play, as did many of his friends. I know most of these kids gave it all on the field, my son did. We did have senior leadership AND many injuries. The upperclassmen playing now played last year too. I know Current and past Riders read this blog. Posters should keep this in mind before they start typing. Former Rider myself and I will type exactly whats on my mind. Hurt feelings? Sorry! My post never mentioned anything about last years kids playing hard. I thought they all played hard. My post referenced confidence and how this years team seems to be playing with more of it. Playing hard and playing with confidence are 2 different things. I can play hard against Lebron James, but I will have zero confidence that I will win. However, when your playing with both...good things happen!zeez sport;1501555 wrote:Great start to the season! rrfanFormer Rider here too. I also will not worry about hurt feelings. Last year my feelings were hurt that I had to watch the Riders Lose! I have respect for everyone that puts on the uniform, but sometimes you can tell when a team really comes together. This team this year is much different than last years IMO. Before someone spins my comment no I don't think we will go undefeated...but these kids are doing what they are supposed to do.

RedRider1I wondered earlier in the day since Orrville got off to a 3-0 start & has a widely known tradition, if we might show up in the first AP poll...
10th..with 1 first place vote.
http://www.news-herald.com/article/HR/20130917/NEWS/130919532
Nice for the kids to see their hard work has a payoff..but take it with a grain of salt as always in media voted polls. -

Exactly! It means nothing and those voters dont have a clue...much like the Daily Record! LOLRedRider1;1502550 wrote:I wondered earlier in the day since Orrville got off to a 3-0 start & has a widely known tradition, if we might show up in the first AP poll...

I did hear that Mr. Dorksen was in Orrville today talking to our captains for a feature story. That's nice. -

Well well...look who is 4-0 now. Still lots of work to do and the next couple of weeks will be tough tests but this team will be ready to go!Old Rider;1483136 wrote:Dyson went to Wooster and I believe he lives with his Grandma?? Although I may be wrong. I also heard the house he was living in fell victim to the JM Smucker company wrath of tearing houses down.
Kayronn is at Massillon and I heard his father (Dru) wanted him to play over there...although he won't touch the field as a Tiger...IMO.
...not sure of a third transfer one other than Bryce?
I think Doug and his coaching staff does a good job and I think the product we see on the field this season will reflect how bad Coach D, his staff, and the boys hated that 1-9 season. We are going to surprise some folks....starting 4-0 is a likely scenario, but if we get injuries early...it could easily be the opposite!
GO RED RIDERS! -

What was that you said????AllAmerican21;1483310 wrote:4-0 is a LIKELY scenario? Seriously? I get being optimistic for your team, but this gets a big C'MON MAN -
BRFYeah, that is some serious crow eating, right there.

sanitizer4 and 0…….. WOW! That sounds pretty darn good to me! Starting this season off on the right foot was half the battle and is for most teams. I watched Ashland this year and Wooster. I was not overly impressed with either team. A lot can happen between when I saw them play and when they play the Ville.
This team has a shot at proving something special this year, especially after the season they had last year. After reading some of the comments from some of you that I know, I sure am proud of this coaching staff, these kids and all of you who didn’t turn tail and run when things got a little rough last year to this year! “It takes a village to raise a man”!
Well done, well done!
RIDER STRONG baby! -
Red Rider NationI will say this: this football team seems to have an extreme will to win! They get after it. As they walked out of the locker room Friday nite I saw those guys holding hands and chanting something. You could see that look in their eyes! My hat's off to them and the coaches. They are playing like last year was just unacceptable and it's exactly what a person wearing that uniform should play like! This team gets after it. I challenge all Orrvillians to come to the game this Friday and show this team the support they deserve. I will drive about an hour and 15 minutes and I can't wait!! Just remember young Riders you will play teams that are bigger, stronger, faster but when you put on that uniform it flat out means more than the one the guy across from you put on!!! RTR!!!

Old RiderOur Red Riders are 6th in the new AP poll. Meaningless I know, but pretty cool to see these kids getting some respect after last years season.
Lets go to Senior...roll the dice...and see what happens. Those kids put their pads on the same way we do...go get it!
