sonnyblack, I heard he stayed put. But I will believe that when I see it. Do you have any information on the contact scrimmages? I was told one of them is at Niles McKinley on Saturday the 17th. But as of yesterday, the installation of field turf at Niles wasn't finished. I can't get any concrete information about dates and times of the scrimmages.sonnyblack;1481930 wrote:so did the labron kid end up @mooney? -
Spread All Day5 weeks ago he was going to mooney. But he's been at Campbell practing so i think he's staying. Hes the frosh i heard was going to play QB

Even if he stays at Campbell he is not going to be the starting QB. Steve Elash will be the starter.Spread All Day;1482031 wrote:5 weeks ago he was going to mooney. But he's been at Campbell practing so i think he's staying. Hes the frosh i heard was going to play QB -

I suppose this is something the public schools have to deal with. First it was Mooney. Then Ursuline. So I guess Campbell was his third choice. Hmmmmmmmm.scoreboard;1482185 wrote:He left but came back. -
scoreboardI hadnt heard anything about Ursuline but im not surprised in the least. They probably filled him with empty promises as well.

Could be. But my point is if a choice is made to leave don't let the door hit you in the ass.scoreboard;1482342 wrote:I hadnt heard anything about Ursuline but im not surprised in the least. They probably filled him with empty promises as well. -
soup city99I totally agree big dean, these a high school kids at best. They shouldn't be paraded across the county by parents and adults.

Hell, if the kid didn't want to be at Campbell in the first place, how dedicated can he be to our coaches and his teammates? Unless of course he was thinking of leaving for academic purposes, to improve on his education by attending private schoolsoup city99;1482451 wrote:I totally agree big dean, these a high school kids at best. omemorialhighI see Campbell returns 6 on offense and 7 on defense. I'm not optimistic. I don't see any toughness and I think that will be evident week 1. Anybody care to break down our schedule. I don't know much about what these teams have returning

Struthers FanWith Campbell, it all depends on motivation and leadership. The talent has always been there; just don't always see the Devils very excited on the sideline. Off-season conditioning seemed to be a problem last year as well.
Will the seniors motivate the team this year? I guess we'll find out in 19 days and a wake up when Struthers ventures up the hill.
Would be nice to see a decent turn out for opening night at Knapic. -

Struthers Fan, I agree. The talent is in place again. Senior leadership has been a real problem since the 2011 season. Regarding the offseason conditioning last season ............. too many lazy kids, many of them seniors. I haven't heard much about the Campbell team for the upcoming season and how the offseason conditioning went. I do know that Struthers will be a formidable opponent in week one. From my point of view, and some may disagree with me, many of these kids are not Campbell grown. They are from families that moved into the city. And when it comes down to having pride and dedication, that really makes a difference. I have learned not to over expect. It is what it is. The coaching staff can only do so much when it comes to motivation.Struthers Fan;1484791 wrote:With Campbell, it all depends on motivation and leadership. Spread All DayThat "Campbell Grown" point you've made a few times is true. Not a lot of families still reside in Campbell that were there in the 80's and early 90's. They're in Poland, Boardman, Struthers, etc.
That being said, they have a lot of athletes i hear. The QB is shaky at best i hear as well which can be a problem. Will the line have the conditioning to do anything? No idea. We'll see in 19 days, when the Cats roll into town. -
reddevil90This Campbell team has the talent. Hell they have always had the talent to win every game! They are returning a good amount of starters on both sides. But other then that the team is a mystery as of now. Not a lot is known yet. And i for one want to keep it that way. only thing i have been told is the Devils have very good speed and hands. but not to sure on QB. And i also worry that with that many returning players on both sides from last years lacking team. We will still hold the same attitude as the last two seasons. We shall soon see what kind of condition they are in with a very good struthers team. I just want to see the team play as one and stick together and fight to the very end! I'm almost to the point of accepting that we have good and gifted players. But lack the pride to put on the Red and Black and play a full 4 qts without worry about getting their SWAG on after the game.

omemorialhighI don't know much about our opponents. I expect struthers to beat us pretty well. For as much as we return there is not much optimism. I expect elash to be better than most think. I know this junior class was supposed to be the one to watch, I'd like to see a good productive season.

I feel it's better to play an opponent like Struthers in week one than further into the schedule. Campbell needs to use a legit tailback to join Adrian Brown in the backfield. Last season one of the Jackson brothers showed some promise. His only problem was holding onto the football. Mykal Hughes is another candidate for the backfield. He was ineligible last season. I believe three of the returning offensive linemen are Rusnak, Kelly, and O'Dea. I believe Campbell is lacking depth on the line, which could be an issue if these kids are not in shape. Elash is a smart kid. He'll do fine provided the pass blocking is there.omemorialhigh;1484964 wrote:I don't know much about our opponents. I expect struthers to beat us pretty well.
