Im from Brookfield and he has already bashed us. He is not from Brookfield. And neither is that Paul guy you are refering to. I have not seen one ignorant reply from somebody from Brookfield on this page, and the reason I'm reading this thread is because I have nothing but respect for Norwayne and how good they are and was hoping to find some more in sight in to their team. If Brookfield peopel have been posting things that are cruel or wrong please how me where. If they have then they are few idiots in Brookfield just like every school has:thumbup:

From his other posts I would say Wayne is an Irish fan.

Rittman, Dalton, Chippewa and Waynedale should become soccer schools because american football is absent at these places. The truly funny thing here is only one of them can get last place. All would be last in most bad small school conferences.

Is Hillsdale even in Wayne County? I'm sure Orrville is and they would fit right in to this pathetic conference. The amusing fact about that is the Red Raiders couldn't win the WCAL either.

The WCAL should thank its lucky stars they have Norwayne. It's their only hope of success in football and they are lucky they are riding that gravy train known as region 13.

Also if Norwayne wins region 13 I will be rooting for them to win state. I always root for the teams that are closest to my town, except Ursuline. Just can't bring myself to root for them

Hillsdale levy failed .....looks like Go Falcons might be right about the 5-5 season next yr. Pay to play now at HHS, record may be 2-8 LOL. I'm sure there will be a lot of parents considering to leave the district.

Sorry to hear about the Hillsdale levy failure.

I know I'm going to sound like the first vulture at the carcass and I don't mean it that way but I'm curious as to what schools would benefit sports wise from kids leaving Hillsdale?

Orrville has suitable housing...We desperately need lineman, although we didn't pass our levy either. :(

What was the levy for? What new cost was it posited to cover?

I am not connected to their district, so I'm in the dark on it.

Hillsdale is projecting about $500,000 deficit for this coming June and $1.5 mill. for the following June. By January we will be in Fiscal Emergency and the State will take control. We expect in the next eight months that we may be forced to reduce our staff to state minimum standards, which would cut among other things Ag. and Shop classes and upwards of 40 people. Pay to participate will be $300 per extra-curricular activity, which includes all sports as well as things like clubs and marching band.

Triway, Ashland, Loudonville, NWN, Lucas, and Madison have connecting districts.

Wow. To what are people attributing the $500K and $1.5K deficit? New expense somewhere?

Since 2008 Hillsdale has seen a reduction of about 17% in stat funding. The biggest portion is attributed to three years ago when we started receiving Federal Stimulus money. The State of Ohio put the stimulus money into the education budget and pulled out a matching amount of state money and used it other places. Last year the stimulus ended, and the state did not put their money back in to the budget.
As an example in rough numbers: Before the stimulus we got $5 mill. during the stimulus we got $5 mill. after the stimulus we got $4.7 mill.

I believe, but not sure that Orrville is in the same boat.

Triway recently went into a similar, serious issue stemming from the State discontinuing much of its assistance. That's why we had the emergency levy this past year, and it thankfully passed.

Much the same in Orrville. We will be making cuts. The worst thing about our levy was that many (not all) of the people in our community see these new schools, new multi-purpose facility, and the new turf/upgrades to the stadium and think that Orrville City Schools are growing money trees and swimming in cash! The timing of it all was not great, but many people are just uneducated and see all this building activity and think we are peachy-keen...
