Paul, in that mind of yours, you would have the Bobcats winning the BCS national title. Fact is they will be hard pressed to beat the winner coming out of the REG 14 this yr...Im guessing that will be Columbus Bishop Hartley.
If they meet in the championship game, and I do think Norwayne has the potential to make it that far again, the Bobcats would be at least 14 point underdogs.

I say let Wooster and Orrville take their best 15 players off each team and they can practice for Five weeks while Norwayne plays for the State Championship. After the Championship Norwayne will play the combined team on Orrville new field. I say Norwayne desire to win would win. Thirty of both teams best would out number Norwayne best but you only play eleven at a time. Your thoughts.
This is interesting, although a fail, interesting to think about. I got a quick thought for everyone....
Last year there was some decent chatter about Norwayne vs. Orrville and Small schools (WCAL) vs Bigger schools (OCC). I enjoyed reading it. Where does everyone think Norwayne would finish this year if it were in the OCC? The games may have been closer...maybe not. I have seen several OCC teams play this year, not overly impressed, as in years past where the talent is head and shoulders above the WCAL. I say Senior High would give Norwayne trouble....them and West Holmes. Madison would also be a good game. WH/Madison because of their run-first styles. Senior would have the athletes to cover all Norwayne's recievers and still stop the run. Ashland could cover the recievers, but couldn't stop the run. I enjoy watching the WCAL and OCC every year, Norwayne would definatly be a top 2 finisher in that conference this year. IMHO, They would win a majority of the games, but the starters would def play the whole game.

I have very similar thoughts, and I even mentioned something in a blog entry earlier this week:
I really wish we could see a Norwayne vs West Holmes game, because I think it would be a good one! I'd probably take Norwayne if I had to pick, but I'd be interested to see how the Bobcats do against West Holmes' rushing attack, which would be far and away the best Norwayne has seen all year (including week 10 vs Northwestern), and better than their own, with Zimmerly.
Norwayne would definitely finish in the top 3 (Senior, West Holmes, Madison), and could finish anywhere in that top 3/4, but I'd lean around 1-3.

A co-worker Norwayne fan said he remembers a Smithville player going down for maybe 20 minutes and taken away by an ambulance. He is wondering the status of that player and if he's okay. Can someone provide an update? Thanks.

Pretty sure it was a CVCA player that left in a ambulance when they played Norwayne.

He says he remembers that one earlier in the season. But the one he's thinking of just happened in their last home game.

Would love to see WH and Norwayne play. This would be a high scoring game and the last with the ball would likely win. Norwayne would not stop WH from running and WH would not cover the spread offense of Norwayne. I would likely give the edge to WH (if they do not turn ball over as they have a tendency to do) and their running game because I think it would frustrate Norwayne getting pounded on sustained drives. Norwayne could definately compete in the OCC the past two seasons. Long term?? This season I would put them in the thick of winning the OCC with WH, Senior and Madison. They would blow out CF, Orrville and Wooster. Ashland may be able to hang, along with Lex, but they may beat on them too.

I think West Holmes would win they have more speed in secondary than you think. Brady Arnold is pretty good at safety he has real good closing speed. Not saying it wouldnt be close just think i would give West Holmes the edge because of ball control. Dont know if they would blow out wooster but may win 56- 42 would definitely be able to outscore them.
  • beatobama
I think it would be great game to watch, but Arnold cannot cover all the receivers in Norwaynes system/ They would be even better if Harris was not hurt. Still think W would win in a close one, if they took care of the ball. Arnold would likely be matched up with Berger which would be a fun match up, but the rest of Wh secondary would be exposed. There likely woould be no punting

I think norwayne would finish in the top 3 in the occ this year IMO. The top of that conference is very strong and balanced this season. As far as this week goes, I think the cats beat the huskies by 3 to 4 scores. I think they will wear them down in the second half and explode in the 3rd quarter.

My thoughts on the week 10 games:

Should be a fun week! Good luck to all the teams.

Well the season is winding down, here we are at week 10. Best of luck to all the teams playing tonight! I hope all the Senior players take a little time to reflect on their years of playing high school football, many of them will never wear a uniform again.

Got to get out of Region 13 first....Brookfield may be the best team in that region!

I use one of my twitter accounts to give WCAL, PAC, OCC score updates. If you have Twitter, you can follow @AndrewMarcum

Or if you don't have Twitter, you can still get my tweets as text messages (for free, even on non-smart phones), by doing the following:

Text the message "follow AndrewMarcum" (without quotes) to the number 40404
To stop receiving them, text "unfollow AndrewMarcum" (w/o quotes) to 40404
