TeeGreenOn the STO High School Playoff Preview, they had some kind words for Norwayne. The host actually predicted Norwayne to take the title. The other two guys like Bishop Hartley.

thePITmanI'm excited to go tailgating and grilling with fellow Wayne Countians again this year. Starts next week? I'm looking for another game to attend this week, one of either New Philadelphia @ Aurora or Hawken @ Manchester or Indian Valley @ Johnstown-Monroe. Thoughts?

OQBMy brother teaches at Oak Hill, it's a little over 3 hours to drive down there from Orrville. I've seen the Oaks play this year and they have a pretty good team.
The stadium is top notch as well built back in 2006 with field turf, but a first round game and a team has to drive 3+ hours for their game is ridiculous. -

Not according to OHSAA.... Think about next year when there are 7 divisions..... Teams in the lower divisions could be really far away. It also might be the other way but knowing OHSAA... they'll screw it up somehow I'm sure.OQB;1307012 wrote:My brother teaches at Oak Hill, it's a little over 3 hours to drive down there from Orrville. jacoIt will be interesting to see how this lousy weather this week affects preparations (and playing sites) this weekend.
-
OQBAre any of the area teams going to go practice on turf so they ensure a good solid week of practice?
-
O-TrapWould it be possible, do you think, for Norwayne and Northwestern to try to get their game moved to Orrville or someplace with turf, in the event that Norwayne's field is unplayable?
-
OQB
I figured it would be moved to Cloverleaf again like Norwayne did last year....it would be closer for both of them, than to come to Orrville, although I'd like to see Orrville host a few games this year.O-Trap;1307095 wrote:Would it be possible, do you think, for Norwayne and Northwestern to try to get their game moved to Orrville or someplace with turf, in the event that Norwayne's field is unplayable? -
1486wdI expect a big turnaround this time, something like 41-14
-
WCALfootballfanThe questions been asked before, is this Norwayne team better then last years? I think they actually may be. Will they continue to improve and make another run? That is the real question. If you've seen them play what do you think?

That's a tough call. They've scored 59 more regular season points this year, but last year's offensive starters only saw the field for a half most games. As such, I'd give last year's offense the nod, because (and I don't have the numbers on me) I'm willing to bet that last year's offense scored more per quarter that the starters were in.WCALfootballfan;1307193 wrote:The questions been asked before, is this Norwayne team better then last years? Now, this year's defense has given up fewer points, but part of that could be attributed to the league not having quite the offensive firepower it has had in the past.
All in all, I'd still probably give a slight edge to last year's team, but I do think this team has the chance to make a run deep into the playoffs. They have the tools to repeat, though as we've said on here, repeating, even for the best team in a division, is no short order. -
dontcareNorwayne / Northwestern game will be at Cloverleaf HS.

Sneaky PeteIf this years Bobcat team can win the state title, I would say they are better than last years team by virtue of points scored and number of wins. Until they actually win the title, I would say last years team is still the best.

That's the obvious way to evaluate them, but more important than the points is the level of competition. They might indeed be better, but lose because Brookfield could turn out to be better than Girard was last year - and/or Hartley might be much better than Kenton was (if they are fortunate enough to get anywhere near that far).
I loved last year's team, but I would give this '12 squad the edge so far because they didn't have the let down that last year's team did against Smithville - and almost vs. Hillsdale. They showed up to play Hillsdale and Northwestern this year. The '11 team was tough in the clutch - mostly because of #45, but you can't fault this year's team for not having a close game yet. We'll see how they perform when it happens. I'd say their regular season was better, but the playoffs will define them relative to last year. -
BobcatI would say that this years 1st string offense didnt play anymore then last years. If they did it wasnt much more.

I think you should consider Hillsdale @ Oak HillthePITman;1306912 wrote:I'm excited to go tailgating and grilling with fellow Wayne Countians again this year. Starts next week? bobcat14I have not been over to Orrville in a while would they have enough parking to host a play off game. Last time I was over there they were limited because of the new construction going on. Just wondering.
