DIV State Semi: Norwayne vs Johnstown-Monroe @ New Philadelphia
-
O-TrapCongrats, Cats! Good luck next week!
-
1_beastHeck of a ballgame! Norwayne played error free and executed well, but they REALLY showed up in the 2nd half!
Some ding dong kept ringing a silly bell in my ear....due to loss of hearing, I was unable to enjoy the Johnstown Band!
Good Luck....Bring Finish The Journey!!!! -
OQBDid someone say Journey?

1_beastIm thinking after the debut of The Falcon Bell in Norwayne stands, That the Cats fanbase may make Go Falcons honorary Bobcat "Bell Guy"....lol
-
Go FalconsNorwayne has great fans and a great team. Gotta Love It! Got to support the WCAL!

beatobamaSeen a lot of good performances in this area over the years, but the cats really looked good tonight. Thought they may have a hard time with a big physical back, but this back was not physical at all. Fast, yes, but not physical at all. Johnstown was completely overmatched by cats "O" and Norwayne played as though they knew it all night. Seemed as though ever play worked for cats all night. Now cats have the opposite. Stop likely one of the best passing games in any division. As should be a huge test for both teams.
-
THE4RINGZThe Norwayne crowd was electric tonight. Very fun to be sitting amongst them. I sat right behind the bell guy, I never got tired of hearing it ring.
Norwayne v. Kenton will be a great match up. I'll take the over.
Keep stalking Bobcats. -

I am totally taking the last line in my statement back, I don't think that will be all she wrote for the cats. If the cats play like they played tonight, they will be State Champions.dontcare;984388 wrote:I think that Johnstown will not be able to stop Norwaynes offense. Hopefully Norwayne can stop Johnstown's running game enough to have more points at the end.... I think this epic season for Norwayne will continue to the title game against Kenton then that will be all she wrote for the Bobcats. -
THE4RINGZNorwayne played a complete game tonight.
On the way home, my son asked a great question, " I wonder what the Norwayne coach told his players at halftime?" -
beatobamaOne thing for certain. That facility is nice, but not near enough seating for this type of game.

I agree -
TeeGreencongrats from an old Norwayne alum

O-TrapAfter much of what I heard about Johnstown-Monroe's offense, I kind of expected Norwayne to win, but I didn't expect it to be by THAT much. Norwayne has done very well against most speed offenses and passing offenses (the exception being Girard, who had quite an arsenal). The two closest games in the regular season were against teams with some size and some power running.
Obviously, the Kenton offense has been lighting up the scoreboard with the passing game, as Maty's numbers have been Ben-esque for his career, but does anyone know if they have any semblance of a power run game? I'm sure Maty does the majority of the running, but I know nothing about how he runs. Either way, I think what will keep Norwayne in this game is their pass defense, which is actually pretty darn good, as was shown against Girard. If they can contain Mauk running and they can stick to their men downfield, they should be able to hang with Kenton. -

We wondered the same thing. The last couple games of the season for Norwayne, I and a lot of people wasn't sure about some of the decisions the coaching staff was making. Well I can say now that our coaching has been pretty darn good in the playoffs. They are making great adjustments.THE4RINGZ;988667 wrote:Norwayne played a complete game tonight.

beatobamaDon't know much, but it seems Kenton likes to match up athlete to athlete and spread the field which may play into cats hands. This may set records for scoring in state finals.

Yeah, I'm curious if they've seen a team that has been able to do that: match up man-to-man athletically.beatobama;988689 wrote:Don't know much, but it seems Kenton likes to match up athlete to athlete and spread the field which may play into cats hands. O-TrapLooks like Elida hung with them, only losing 30-28. Coldwater looked like it kept their offense in check, only giving up 24.
I know common opponents mean nothing, but these two teams DO have one: Wellington. Norwayne beat them in Week 1 by a score of 35-0. Kenton beat them in Week 11 by a score of 74-22.

BeToughIf u told me franklin would have 320 and smith over 100 I liked Jtown s chances... kudos to bobcats for making the plays when they needed to! Great season Johnnies!

oldsmithieCONGRATULATIONS BOBCATS!!!!! It seems like the Cats are peaking at the right time. That offense was outstanding last night!!!! and the reserve players got some action last night. I am full of pride, that a WCAL team is in the Championship game. Norwayne is going to be more than a match for the Kenton Wildcats!
-
1486wdjohnstown looked to me like a team that had not faced much adversity this year - they got stopped on 4th down, then the int for a TD, they absolutely wilted and were done. Before that, the bobcats could not stop their offense. Great win for the cats!
-
ColumbusguyStill adding the yards up but could have the state record
