I'd watch both before I'd watch bowling.

    Not kidding. :)

Oh goodness I honestly did not realize they had high school bowling as a sport. That's legendary!

Mr 300 what a low blow! Mason is a terrific player and if you knew him you would realize what a wonderful person he is. Humble, kind and a # 1 academic student. He gives 100%+ . He proved long ago what a terrific role model he is.

Troll King, you need to find something more productive to do with your time. You post without knowing the facts and are always negative about our Rider players and coaches. I respect our coaches and appreciate all the time they devote to our kids. I will forever cheer for our Riders.

    Shutout against WH.
Scored 6 against Ashland...extra point was blocked.

So our last made EP was week 3 against Copley.

...and people are asking why we went for 2. LOL.
Well, with the one 2-point conversion at Lex, and the two failed attempts Friday, it appears that those haven't been too successful either. Hence, nothing to LOL at the question!

I didn't say it we're any good at it, but apparently the coaches feel its the better option right now.

I say we bring back the curved toe shoe & let #51 try some EP's. couldn't hurt.

Friday night I was very glad to see how hard the coach's and players worked, scratched and clawed. Go get yourself two wins the last two weeks of the season! The one you will always remember is coming up but get a win on the turf first.

One of the things that stood out most to me was seeing the kids play with some emotion and excitement in that second half. The kids played hard. Holding a team to 9 yards and 0 first downs in the second half just shows that the effort was there. Lets get these last two!

Geeze zeez lighten up, I will continue to speak my mind about this team and these coaches weather you like it or not. if you don't like what I write don't read it. I don't have kids playing on this team and I'm not personal friends with any of the coaches so I can speak the truth without fear of losing a friend. I would be willing to bet that I have been a Rider fan since before you were born. as for knowing the facts you're correct I don't hang out with the coaches as some on here do. therefore I don't know all of what's going on with this team behind the scenes as far as injuries. One fact I do know is this coach is very single-minded he continues to run an offense that he clearly does not have the talent to run. A good coach would run an offense that fits the type of players he has.

By the way I just wanted to congratulate the defense they did a hell of a job Friday Shutting down a very potent running game . That shouldn't surprise me though since they are coached by the one coach on this team who actually knows what he's doing . Great job coach Haley !

Troll...I also noticed that Coach Haley walked down the entire line of the pee-wee players and gave each and every one of them a fist bump. Simple gesture can go a long way!

The defense was outstanding and other than those two long plays, we pretty much held them in check!

It was neat to read the comments from Mans Madison's head coach. Very respectful and just shows that teams will not underestimate us even at 1-8. That being said, I think we finally get a W on our turf this week...Finally...Keep working hard Riders!

You are correct that simple gesture does go along way. I certainly hope coach Haley returns next season. I've heard that he won't be back. We need him on this staff , i think he would make an excellent Head Coach. I also agree that this could be the week to get that first home win.

A win going into Wooster week would be a big deal for our kids. A home win for the seniors and a win would, IMO, be a 3rd straight week of positive momentum.

Hope we can bring the same energy from the 2nd half into the 1st half of this week's game.

Not to mention that a coach walks a fine line when it comes to disciplining...some kids can take a good old butt chewing and play better because they view that as motivation to get better. Other kids get a butt chewing and they tuck their tails or pout and then level of play drops. (I think more kids are like this now than ever before)
This is an interesting point, I watched an interview with Rick Patino from Kentucky, Louisville (even some time at Boston), he said that most of the kids today come from single parent homes. More specifically single mother homes, he said in the old days he could challenge a player and that player would stand up to that challenge and play better. He said kids today that are raised by single mothers just don't respond to that kind of motivation. He said the kids were just "softer" due to the lack of a strong male role model in the home? He said he had to come up with alternative ways to motivate that he just wasnt use to?

Now I am not saying this is or has ANYTHING to do with the Riders but your post made me think of the interview.

I will also say that these coaches are doing something right to keep these kids motivated and passionate about what they have left to do on the football field as Red Riders (seniors). What an awesome second half defensively! I will be in the house this Friday and hope to bring some good "mojo" to the team!!!! Like old Irvin said in his induction speech, LOOK UP....GET UP.... AND NEVER GIVE UP!!!! That is what I'm talking about!

    Go RED!!!!

How is the health of the team this week? I know some guys were out last week. Are any of them back this week?
  • BRF
Talked to Dyson today and he is listed as probable.
  • rrfan
Not much talk on here this week. Is that good or bad?
  • Series62
Might that be what rr-1 calls "apathy"?

Dyson is not only a good athlete but also a good kid in general. Wish he was back in Wooster.
