Orrville Red Rider Football 2012

riders1Should Northwest, 8-2 to 2-8 , and Mooney, State Champs to 3-6 , be looking for new coaches after their seasons? Poor coaching or maybe drop in talent at those schools. Maybe Canton Central Cath from 8-2 to 4-6 should be looking also since Lowell obviously can't coach.
Why don't you guys give it a rest and put your soap boxes away until you have something new and interesting to say instead of the same old , same old. It's like a soap opera , you miss 20 episodes and turn it on and you still have the same storyline weeks later. -

WRONG!! OSU has top 20 talent EVERY year! You say there are kids in our town who aren't playing football...really? Thanks for pointing that out, genius. Kent St. will have 3 or 4 draftees next Spring so, wrong again about them not having talent! Do your homework pal.Red Rider Nation;1324249 wrote:Really???? Ohio St had the same talent last year and a losing record! Don't tell me coaching doesn't matter you can go blow that smoke under another foxhole!!! Your excuses are adding up but no surprise what else would you have to complain about blaming our losses on tough economic times in the ville! That's laughable!!! Talent is in your town and you know it! I told you that already there are kids in your town not even playing for Orrville! Yes I can compare a college program to high school it is still football-do u think Kent st recruited Top 25 talent in the nation or is there just a coach there that Is getting it done??? -
sanitizerNot hating but I thought Ohio State had a guy in the HEISMAN race???? This entire thread is getting "strange". We will have to see what next year brings.... Until then all I want is some damn twinkies!

All 3 of the coaches of those programs have state title rings on their fingers...but should all be fired if you apply Red Rider Nation logic.
I'm sure none of the 3 have had talent drop offs..just terrible coaching, right? -

I saw him on the OCC list, but not the NE inland All-District list.
I looked at the list posted to www.woostersports.com -

Whoa whoa whoa! This would mean we had talent on this team! Impossible according to the naysayers on here!!! Now back to the drawing board since the "no talent" excuse is gone -

LOL. This is almost too easy.
Last year we had the following all district honors:
District 1st Team Offense: Stew Turner
District 1st Team Defense: Trevor White, Dylan Lemon, Mason Monheim
District 1st Team Punter: Drew Brenner
District Hon. Mention: Zook, Summers & Lehtomaki.
District Def. Player of the Year: Monheim
That's 8 guys who made all district, 6 of them seniors, 5 of them first teamers...that team went 8-4.
We has 3 this year, 0 on the 1st team and went 1-9.
See the difference?
Don't tell me there wasn't a talent dropoff from last year to this year. You know nothing about football if this is what you truly believe.
Just wrong...and you know it..but you're trying to pin it ALL on coaching so this is what you have to say to advance your anti-Davault logic. -

And this is even easier: yes talent plays a part no doubt about it-I would argue though that this team had talent! I think your coach himself would and does agree with the fact that HE didn't get it done this year! I call it as I see it RR1 and you call it as you don't!!!! Like I said even easier!!!! -
Red Rider NationOh and really first team punter???? Good one!!!
-
RedRider1I'd agree about him needing to do better too..because he's said as much throughout the season and after the Wooster game. But to say its all coaching as you continue to say isn't an accurate or fair conclusion.
8 all district selections last year..and 3 all Ohioans...to 3 all district selections & probably 0 All Ohioans.
That says it all. You keep throwing out the "we had talent" argument like there was no dropoff at all..and I showed you otherwise. Just the truth...not as I see it or as you see it...but the factual truth. -

Take your pick..first team WR, DB or punter.
He was good at all 3...and was missed at all 3 positions this year. Can't be named first team at multiple positions by rule. Easier route to an all-Ohio selection too...this helped his college stock.
That's the coach you don't care for trying to get his kids some post season honors that colleges will take notice of.
Losing him(WR, DB, P) Monheim (RB, LB) & Turner (WR, DB, PR) lost us 8 positions on the field (offense, defense, spec teams).
That's the impact that losing versatile players at small schools can have. -

Forgive me for not "following along" to your posts weeks ago...besides, you said "kids" and that insinuates several. Great point RR1. It's right there in black and white...not an opinion but concrete fact. Now THIS is doing your homework RRN!RedRider1;1325322 wrote:Take your pick..first team WR, DB or punter.

Not predicting a final 4 run, but the cupboard isn't bare by any means....it never is in Orrville.
That being said, you don't replace Brenner, Monheim & Turner and not miss a beat....like every year, it will be how we start. All of the first 4 are winnnable games...but those middle 3 against home with Senior & WH and at Ashland, will define the season.

A. Almost all of us are completely full of crap and need to realize it.
B. We are rebuilding. Reloading was a fantasy perpetuated by the RTR shills.
C. The so called trolls have been making valid points (not that I agree totally but some things needed said)
D. The County people have every reason to laugh at us. We couldn't win their league, probably not runnerup either.
E. The Levy defeat could make things worse
F. Coach D still has mileage on his tires. He deserves some derision and also deserves a pass on a bad season. -

Thanks a million for posting this. Makes guys like RR1 see that they contradict themselves more times then not. He was also the guy on the Wooster thread pumping his chest after our only win this year against NW! Not bashing you RR1 just pointing out your ability to say one thing one week then something totally different the next. I know another anti-Davault rant right? I am sure in your mind it us but just remember you saying the cupboard wasn't bare so why again were we 1-9???? -
sanitizerI think what I find "amusing" is this, those of you who have made up your minds on the coaches inability to do the job have done so period. Those who feel he has just had a bad year have also seated yourselves firmly on that position. So I don't understand the same venomous posts over and over again about the same argument that neither side is going to convince the other of. My daddy use to say opinions are like "#$% holes".... Everyone has one and sometimes they stink! And I also find the internet, anonymity and keyboards can lend themselves to comments none of use would make in person, we may make the same point but without the "colorful" verbiage and connotation. Perhaps I am old and this is what debate and disagreement look like today, if so, our kids don't stand a chance! Good grief fellas....... We have all been wrong in our lives about sports and the results, thats why they play the game. I know some of us (me included) were doing some wishful thinking when this season started. But if you have been around long enough there is an even flow to high school sports, wins, losses, athletes, great coaches and cool aid!!! Until the Ville decides to move in a different direction as far as coaching goes whoever has put their free time and effort into the position gets my full support. Passion is a thing of beauty but lets not let our passion get in the way of our respect for the Red Rider family! LOL, now I am off my box!

The cupboards are VERY BARE! Just watch this basketball season...I do agree with you RRnation that we need to do a better job of getting the most out of our kids and the discipline stuff needs to be addressed. Only problem is...many of these kids simply do not respond well to discipline and the simple alternative for them is to QUIT. The current group of sophs-jrs-srs have NEVER WON...they didnt in middle school either and its the SAME group of kids. They have not had that TASTE...EVER! Its not a knock on the kids, coaches, or parents...its simply the state of boys athletics in the top three grades at Orrville right now...BARE CUPBOARDS! I hear it first hand from a coach. You can only bark an assignment or play or positioning so many times before you realize the kid just doesn't get it. Not becase he isn't giving effort, but because he just does NOT have FOOTBALL SMARTS. In other cases we have kids that LOOKED like they were good athletes and had football smarts, BUT they were NOT GAMERS.Red Rider Nation;1325925 wrote:Thanks a million for posting this.
