Anyone want to wager on an over/under for how many days it takes before this account gets the gong too.bases_loaded;972768 wrote:Thank you yappi for making this post possible -

We also have less murder and way more pride. But if Dover recruited football players while controlling student numbers, who knows how many state championships we could have bought!sherm03;972801 wrote:Dover has less State Championships than Mooney: -

You should discuss that in the 2012 thread, this thread is for the big boys still playing. -

Mooney started playing football SIXTY years later, in 1956.Dr. Ray Stantz;972798 wrote:Mooney has less wins than Dover.

By my rough count they are 437-147-10 over that time with 7 state titles, all during the playoff era.
That's just under 8 wins a year.
Give them another 60 years of playing football, at an average of 6 wins a year, and they would be on top. -

See, when you say that you show that either 1) you know nothing or 2) you're just making something up because you got nothing elseDr. Ray Stantz;972809 wrote:But if Dover recruited football players while controlling student numbers,
P.S. Believe me, 7 Sate Championships will make you very proud. You haven't even won a Regional Title, and this IS NOT the years -

I hope this isn't the year. Can you imagine a bunch of slow unathletic kids from dover representing the region in week 14? Yuck! Everyone knows only Steubenville or Mooney deserve such an honor. Apologies in advance for wasting 3 hours and $9 for everyone Friday night -
Dr. Ray Stantz
So are you saying that Mooney accepts every single student that has ever applied? Because that's what Dover does. Having an admissions process by definition means your school controls its student population. Give me a break if you honestly believe it's a level playing field, it shows how sophomoric your views really are. And Dover has way more pride than your football factory, because it stems from community, not from tuition checks. Dover has more success with less talent every single season. With your situation, every year you don't win a state title should be a let down.Rocket08;972819 wrote:See, when you say that you show that either 1) you know nothing or 2) you're just making something up because you got nothing else -
Dr. Ray StantzMooney should be a division 1 school. With your fancy private school education you should be able to deduce that within a 30 mile radius of your campus, 550,000 people live there, and if any one of those tens of thousands of families that live there have the means to pay for it and a kid they think can succeed in football, they can just open the checkbook and buy themselves some "tradition."
Seriously, at the game on Friday, look and see how much pride comes from the entire community of students that get to share in the Dover Football experience. Between the team, the band, the cheerleaders, the majorettes, and the student section very few Dover students miss games like this. And then compare that to you, a bunch of sad old men posting on the internet about their greatest accomplishments which happened when they were 17 years old, vehemently defending their only major source of internal pride, all while disregarding the FACT that the odds were completely stacked against your opponent. Enjoy your rings, Dover has something worth much more than that, but I wouldn't expect you to understand, you can't buy or wear what our students get out of our community's program. -
Mooney44CardsAh yes, I see the discussion has degraded to the classic "It means more to us because we have less talent/do it the right way/don't pay tuition" argument.
I love how the "we don't turn down any students" fact is spun to sound like your school does it out of kindness rather than neccessity.
And just to settle that debate....no, its not a level playing field. Just like every other sport in the history of mankind. And if there's one thing we should be teaching our kids, its that if life isn't fair to you, you should complain and make excuses and act all indignant.
Oh and Dover fans.....you're doing it wrong.....you're supposed to do the public/private whining AFTER the game, not before it. -
Dr. Ray StantzHaha he can't even respond to my comment, just builds a strawman.
-
Mooney44CardsGuys seriously, Dover has the most pride, check out how many pride points they have and how many pride championship banners are hanging in the gymnasium! Mooney has like NO pride and they are terrible at being full of pride they should all come to Dover where they have lots and lots of pride. In fact they have a surplus of pride because there is no way they could consume as much pride as they produce. So Mooney could learn a thing or two from Dover by purchasing the excess and surplus pride from the prideful pridey Dover community (did I mention pride?!)
But seriously shame on Dover because there are communities throughout Ohio who don't have enough pride to go around and I feel like Dover has so much pride that they waste it all. Its a shame.
Pride. -
I Am AhabGo win a state title Dover. Other homegrown, community teams do it. You can't. All you can do is talk.

I Am AhabDover is the poor man's Coldwater, to a tee. Only Coldwater fans don't act like azzes b/c they've won titles and don't have this inferiority complex that Diver fans have.
