Northwest VS Orrville

  • NWIndianNation01
What are Brenner and Turner's 40 times?
  • 1_beast
Im not an Orrville guy....but If you kick to Turner...you better be disciplined in your coverage lanes....or you'll be down 6-0 :10 seconds into the game

edit: unless of course NW gets the ball 1st :)
  • OQB
    4.1 and 3.9 :D

ok ok honestly they are probably 4.4's Turner is a little faster though....I would ask 5knots for sure, I don't know exactly just going off of the speed I saw last year.
  • NWIndianNation01
If you are right, that will cover our two 4.4 guys...but does Orrville have another three guys with 4.6 speed or better? Because that is what they will need if they want to cover all of our guys if we spread it out.

Schweeeeet!!!! I'll let the Orrville guys tell ya about their team...im just a troll!!!

But Riley better have a quick release on short routes....or get used to picking himself up off the ground! lol

I understand you aren't an Orrville guy...however, you talk just like them.

If we do kick the ball to Turner, I feel comfortable that our five guys with 4.6 speed or better will be able to catch him and take him down.

Oh, and before people start spouting off about 40 times versus football speed with pads, from what I understand, our guys' speed DOES translate into great football speed. haha

NW got an up close look at Turner's speed last year (remember the punt return that won the game for us?) They know all about him....and will show how much they respect him when they kick away from him all night.

So NW has 5 kids (all WR's) with 4.6 speed or better? That's a receiving corps that most colleges would die for.

Again, I feel pretty confident with our O-line this year that Riley will have enough time to do what he needs to.

On another note, if I don't get a ride, can someone post some good directions for me (obviously coming from Orrville rd.). Thanks ahead of time.

I agree that we will probably kick away from him anyways. However, that doesn't mean he won't end up with the ball...with his speed he will be just a second from backward toss.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the great talent that Orrville has this year, I am just trying to let everyone know that NW has some good talent too. Should be one heck of a game. The game will be won by a touchdown or less.

I can appreciate the team speed NW has.....but if there is one thing we usually can match it is team speed. Our MLB went 4.50 end of July. What Brenner and Turner add to the speed equation is the "hops" that RR1 eluded to earlier. Both guys are leapers and with Brenner's 6'3"- 6'4" frame already his athleticism can pose a problem for most DBs. I can't wait for Friday. Always a well prepared team by Vic. always good fan support from NW. That all makes for a fun night
  • NWIndianNation01
I would say height is where the Red Riders will have some advantage. I know our guys are fast, but they aren't tall by all means.

Can't wait for Friday to see how both teams do!

    GO INDIANS!!!

Follow Orrville st , which becomes Back Massillon rd all the way to 57, turn left and follow 57 south into Orrville, turn right on Mineral Springs ( which is the next street after Taco Bell )
and good luck finding parking straight ahead on Mineral Springs, with the stadium on the left hand side.

NWIndianNation: Orrville is 1_beast's second favorite team!
    ;-)

Been a while since I have been on here, cannot wait for Friday night, the start of high school football baby! Go Riders!
  • RED_CLOUD
I would like to say that there is alot of cockieness on both sides of this thread. The team with the fewest mistakes when the clock hits "0" will be the winner. The other will need to regroup & get things turned around and get that win in week 2. I know NW is playing a few sophmores as probably the Riders are as well. Just remember, there is alot of youth on the field. we'll just have to see what happens. Good luck to both teams, and just hoping NW is the one who comes out on top!
  • Old Rider
Red_Cloud...why will NW be playing sophs? I thought they returned a bunch of upper classmen? Are there some suspensions?

    Interesting point!

Wow! Never thought about that! Great point! ;-)
  • Mr. Russell
As someone who has seen both teams this summer, I think this game is Orrville's to lose. Also, Northwest doesn't have two guys with 4.4 speed and Brenner is very fast and a grat athlete but he is not 4.4 either. That would have been good for the 4th fastest time in the NFL combine this year.
  • Brutus
wow where did you see both teams mr. russell, give us some of your insight please why do you pick orrville. just curious
  • RED_CLOUD
Old Rider...... they did return alot of letterman, but a few are filling in from the you know. one kid is the center, which he earned and another is a d-back. plus some rotation.
  • BRF
Mr. Russell should change his name to "Mr. Woodcock"! That would be cool because he wants to be a coach/gym teacher/history teacher. ;-)

Oh, BRF loves the banter and now it's starting to heat up.

We want that locker room material, so keep it up.
  • Mr. Russell
Well Brutus, I have a lot of respect for both schools, especially Orrville. I think Riley is a great quarterback and was very impressed with your passing game this summer. I also think that Orrville will be ready for it and has some athletes to not shut it down but contain it. It seems like since Coach Davault has been there, the Riders make a big play on defense or special teams late in the game to beat you guys. I think that Turner could be that guy again this year. He is just electric. My greatest concern for the Riders would be the offensive line, if they are really as inexperienced as I have heard. Lichti is a pocket passer and needs ample time, if he gets it there could be recievers running downfield all night for Orrville. I am sure it will be close Brutus, but I am going with the Riders.

BRF, if you come watch your nephew at a game this year make sure to holler a couple days in advance so I can meet up with you at the stadium.

lets hope for an off night. but I think our defense is real good and could cause that off night. the game is gonna come down to who has the better o-line. it doesn't matter how fast turner is or how good beers is, you gotta block
