Northwest VS Orrville
-
riders1Nice game for #25, but he's got to learn he can get more yards if he wasn't always dragging 3 or 4 others along for the ride
-
5knotsbiggest smile for me was when they knew we were going to run it out of the eye 100% for sure..they couldn't stop us. Nice job o-line and RBs.

Brutusnice job to orrville. yes you smacked us right in the mouth. 5 nots very well said. good luck and hopefully we turn it around and bring you some points this year. good luck riders

Brutusnw soph. back up linebacker had a pretty darn good game jackson schultz #37

Red Rider Nationi really missed that NW Noseguard - did they even have one? Orrville was the much better ta=eam and will be all year long. Hype is hype, talk is talk, but tonight the walk was the walk. Minus turnovers this game wasnt even close!!!
-
INDIANS FANYou dominated the game. Actually enjoyed watching Monhiem, what a player. NW better make some MAJOR changes or we will be 0-10. That would suck for us and your computer points. Good Luck the rest of the season!
-
oh yeah!!did you miss him? maybe you werent watching the game but he was out there? well played NW def did not have it tonight very disappointing
-
you think you knowCongratulations Riders!!!!
-
Old RiderWhat all the hype about a noseguard for NW?? He got manhandled all night by a soph that has never played on the offensive line in all his years of football..Summers took it to him!!
-
Red Rider NationOh and about Brenners non 4.5 speed? He ran that cat down and put a club on him. If that wasnt speed I dont know what is. Brenner was great last night. Also that block he put on that kid from NW was one of the best I have ever seen. Great job Riders!

Coach 08I just want to say that Orrville looked very solid last night on both sides of the ball even with the youth in some positions. I thought after a shaky start we settled in and put it together. Hats off to the players for not letting down after going down 14-0 early, and hats off to the coaches for keeping the team focused as well. Also IMO when Monhiem broke about 5 tackles going down the Orrville sideline early in the game when we were down I think a touchdown was a huge momentum swing, great run kid. On a side note happened to be over by where the players walk thru the fence and onto the field at the start of the game and Orrville parents and fans form a tunnel. I happen to catch Matt Davis walking in after the team ran thru and you could see on his face he was upset he was not going to get to be playing last night, and for a senior with his talent, I am sure it has to kill him not to be out there. But I was able to witness a senior Orrville dad go up to Matt and give him a hand shake and a huge and others as well giving him high fives as he went by. Hats off to Rider Nation for showing and I am sure will continue to show him love and support the whole season. Lets go Riders time to beat up the purple!

1_beastFunny thing...or is it ironic that I predicted Turner take the opening kick off to the house.....Instead, NW recieves and Beers take it to paydirt!!! lol
-
RedRider1400 yards of team offense for the Riders....again, it was a sloppy 41 points, but there's not style points in football. Just hope our bad moments were mistakes and not habits. Thought the old scoreboard did a good job for her swansong.

OQBGreat game last night, its always nice when you can get that first game out of the way and get a win against a good team. I always applauded Kent Smith for not scheduling cupcake teams the first three weeks...
Now, as I wasn't at the game, could someone please explain to me the fieldgoal team? What was the problem...the line, the holder, the kicker?? I thought this was going to be a weapon for us this year? Not being negative in any way...just would like to know what happened. Thanks for any insight.
One more thing, 11 penalties for 90+ yards, can't have that, it is going to kill is in those close games. -
RedRider1Couple of high snaps....Tanner didn't even get to kick. One EP he pulled. Special teams in general need some extra attention.
-
OQBThanks, RR1. I was at the Cleveland Indians game last night...almost got in the paper too with that picture of Thome...had great seats, but sure did miss Orrville football.
-
5knotsDownside of having your kicker play soccer as they had a busy week and no practice for him. Doesn't explain the snaps, but we will get better...that stuff is easy to fix. Poor choice imo kicking down the middle of the field to one of the best players in Stark County. We learned quick though. Plenty of chances for momentum to swing last night.....we just did not let that happen. We don't fold here.....we are all in every play! Just like those that came before us.

RedRider1Photo slideshow from The Daily Record.... http://bit.ly/n4RWcL Very surprised there was NO coverage from the Massillon or the Canton paper. Usually the Massillon paper sends someone. Too bad really.

OQB
Good point! I forgot he was on the soccer team...it does help when your kicker is at the entire practice working on his game, but good for him being involved and helping two Orrville teams with his kicking skills. He did a great job for us last year, and he will get it together.5knots;875109 wrote:Downside of having your kicker play soccer as they had a busy week and no practice for him. On a side note, I talked to a guy from Genoa last night (they won big, surprise surprise) but He said the haters are going to come out again...they tried to kick fieldgoals on 1st down 4 times last night! Will Vicars ever learn! -

With Northwest an independent now, both papers will not cover them as in the past, until they put some wins on the board.RedRider1;875110 wrote:Photo slideshow from The Daily Record.... http://bit.ly/n4RWcL Very surprised there was NO coverage from the Massillon or the Canton paper. Remember when WTIG carried delayed broadcasts of Red Riders basketball in the mid-nineties, times have changed and papers and radio have really cut back on staff and on coverage. -
Old Rider
Boy, thats too bad we didn't see you in the paper!OQB;875105 wrote:Thanks, RR1. I was at the Cleveland Indians game last night...almost got in the paper too with that picture of Thome...had great seats, but sure did miss Orrville football. -
ridernationI was told they were suppose to kick away from Beers but we all know what happened.
