Competitive Balance fails by close vote

Some schools both public and private think that dumping valuable resources into their extracurricular activities is not only wrong but unwise. Their number one priority is academic, not hiring some hotshot coach that teaches PE. Hey with an unlimited budget any school could create a sporting juggernaut if that's what they wanted to be known for. I am no marking expert but it seems to me that private schools have a huge incentive to excel in either academic or sports or both. This is what attracts parents to send their kids there. It really depends on where your priorities are at.
The Mission of the OHSAA is to create a fair playing field.
Our school is a sports AND academic power (with relatively low taxes). Your "either/or" scenario is simply not true in many if not most cases. Money and success have a lot lower coefficient of correlation than do success and expectation of excellence. Harder to achieve than stomping one's feet and crying about fairness, but a far better lesson for our kids, IMO. -

Yeah, you said I live in a trailer, but you also said that parochial schools don't recruit....So that means I must live in a mansion.
Oh I get it now. A molestation joke. Did a preist molest you is that why you have so much hate for the parochial schools? Or maybe he didn't and that's why you hate them? -

Skank is an expert on feces!
The vote was closer than many experts thought. IMHO, the OHSAA will put forth another proposal that perhaps doesn't include the tradition factor, but does add a division in football. That will be the last attempt to stave off separate playoffs for private and public schools. The OHSAA doesn't want separation, but there will be a huge push for it. Remember, administartors vote rather than coaches. That is why the recent vote was closer than many thought. I thought that it would pass by less than 50 votes. -

No...you thought it would pass. Then tried to save face and say it wouldn't pass. Then changed again and said it would pass again.Viking;775845 wrote:Skank is an expert on feces!

Once again, you have zero credibility on the issue. So don't be offended when nobody takes you seriously. -
Rocket08Zero credibility
Zero chance of separate playoffs/ EVER
The committee overreached, Based on the vote, a simple multiplier would have worked IMO
Bottom line, some are unhappy with the current system. They are obviously a very vocal minority
Ohio still has the best playoff system in the country!! In spite of what some chronic complainers say, the majority agrees -

I know the inside scoop. It almost passed. The private schools are on the ropes. -

Not quite an expert, I only met your mother once. Well, maybe a half dozen times.
Listen, you come off as more "out of the loop" than the parochial 7. QUIT acting like you're in the know, and admit that the crap you have been spewing for the last 8 month's or so has been just that....CRAP. -

Sure they do....If you're a parochial school backer.
They WOULD, if the rules for public and parochial were at least SOMEWHAT even, but nah....NAH. -

Donald Trump? The only way the privates are...."on the ropes", is if there's a recruiting bus....and the bus is named...."on the ropes". -
rmolin73Hahahaha what a joke. Viking you continue to make a blatant fool of yourself. Embrace that!

Why not take some of that impressive knowledge, and use it to somehow help Akron North win a game. I know it's a pretty tough task, but You can do it. Oh wait....Your a Buchtel fan now aren't you? -

Which rule(s) give any advantage to private schools? -
Vikingrmolin73;776109 wrote:Hahahaha what a joke. Viking you continue to make a blatant fool of yourself. Embrace that!
It almost passed. That is a fact. Too many schools felt that the proposal was too weak. Either a stronger version will pass or there will be separate playoffs. -
rmolin73You need to give it up no one takes you serious. Most felt that the proosal was too strong with the tradition factor punishing succesful programs. If there was a simple multiplier it would have passed. There won't be seperate playoffs ever in Ohio thats something you can "embrace".

Ohio's tournament is widely considered one of, if not the best playoff system in in the country. Read a little...it might do you some good.skank;776107 wrote:Sure they do....If you're a parochial school backer.

You're right dong, had a few beers last night and figured, what the hell, the parochial 7 get away with it. -

Agreed, the tournament is one of the best, but, if you included the Green Bay Packers, into the tournament, they would obviously roll everybody, the tournament would still be set up good, but....You see where I'm going here? -
Rocket08Ya, you're frustrated
Your team has never won a championship, and you're jealous You can't admit someone's better than you, even though it's pretty obvious
