2011 Wayne County Athletic League Football

Mr. 300Get used to it Rittman fans. It's going to be a very long season, as well as upcoming seasons. When a line score reads 19 rushes for 2 total yards, it should tell you something. My oldest son was friends with the soph QB, and played peewee football with him. They met up 2 summers ago in Columbus at the OSU football camp. Old dad was spinning the yarn pretty good that weekend. The kid is rather fleet of foot, so I think a spread O like Ashland runs would be better than 5 wide at all times.
Bill is a super nice guy -

well obviously rittmans spread isnt very effective. they dont even have a formation with a running back!! pretty hard to believe! I wasnt going to believe it untill i actually went to the game last friday and saw it. ive never seen anything like itTHE4RINGZ;877891 wrote:Any effective spread offense utilizes a RB from time to time. Screens, short sideline routes, and an occasional draw to slow down the blitz, sounds like someone may have been misinformed. -
Bloody ToothbrushGoFalcs.......
Agreed, you gotta listen to the coach thats basically saved the program. Anyway, its fun to dream up replacements for the Mounties.
Ringz......
Man, I'm having a rough time keeping up with all your internet slang. I eventually figure most of it out, but "O I C" has got me befuddled. I just can't muster the energy to look it up....so, whats it stand for? Remember, I'm just a blue collar, overpaid, union, not terribly bright, railroad worker, who against all odds has managed to keep all my limbs.(not all my co workers can say that)......at any rate, please bare with me.
Miyagi....
Whatever happened to him? Meltdown? Dog safari?....wait, I know....that pesky health inspector has been asking about the origin of your meat again.
Havin' Fun....
Spot on with the WCAL observation. Nobody ever will win it throwing the ball either....just my opinion
Madman & demoralizer.....
Sucks to be you guys....hopefully the Dennis reign will either get better or end...soon! I'm pulling for you guys against Mapleton, hell, I might even wander over to Bugtussle (my name for the Mapleton campus) and watch it.
Old Smithie.....I thought things were changing (aka getting back to normal) over there in Emeraldville, but the loss to Tuslaw seems like an old replay of the last few years. I'm usually not a guy who ever rags on successful coaching tradition....but I must admit...I'm starting to wonder.
Guy from Ridgewood.....thanks, I now know where West Lafayette is. Beautiful country down there.
Luckydog, 1486 & Mompov.......
Lint, Hackett & Blevins (among others) is definately a hard 4 year act to follow. Hopefully the growing pains will pay dividends in the future.
Red Hole.....
Your bastard dog killed some more of the pilgrims(amish) sheep down the road. I hope you get sued and eventually rot in jail. Since I have no faith the Puritans will stand up to you.....I went ahead and called the dog warden....expect a visit....Ahhaaaahaaaaahhaaaaa.........A**hole!!!!
Beast.....
Good luck to da Bears this week.....I think they're gonna need it.
Syd.....
See note to Beast....insert Huskies.
and finally
Paul......

I'm gonna give Waynedale and Smithville some love this week. I think both are going to be better then most people are thinking. As far as thedemoralizer picking against that Cats this week, I think you're just showing where you're from. CVCA should have no chance in that game this week. Utley is gone and my understanding is that CVCA dont throw the ball well. The Cats have to much offensive firepower for CVCA
Hillsdale walks again this week.
Chippewa, Rittman and Dalton.....good luck
It will be interesting to see how Northwestern and BR matchup. My understanding is that Norwayne beat BR easily in a scrimmage this year. It will also be interesting to see how Dalton fares against Tuslaw. This should give us some comparison now that some of the teams will have played common opponents. I know it doesnt always tell you alot but it will give us something to talk about -
Red RumThis weeks predictions--
Hillsdale & Norwayne win
the other 6 fall.
WCAL goes 2-6
A best case scenario would be Waynedale over Ridgewood as both seem to have potential and Northwestern over Black River, since the Huskies have won 5 in a row and probably expect to win. (confidence can make a difference) That would give the WCAL a 4-4 mark
Seldom does the best case scenario ever work out for me, point in case, I'm still posting on the OC instead of drinking Grey Goose on my private island. I guess I'll stick with 2-6. -
Havin FunI too see Norwayne and Hillsdale winning easily. The Bears COULD win but I don't know if they have the size to compete for the entire game. Smithville will give Mogadore a test. With that running game anything can happen.

thedemoralizer7i dont see smithville losing 2 weeks in a row with besancon calling the shots.. and call me crazy but im just waiting for one of these games for norwayne to take one on the chin. also theres no way northwestern beats BR. I saw the BR vs norwayne scrimmage and it was fairly even. i thought BR was pretty tough in my opinion.

Im hoping they wait til week 6 to "take one on the chin...Bears GAVE them the game last year... -
oldsmithieI think this week is going to tell me more about Smithville. Moggy did not have a stellar game last week, they beat Crestwood, but the score was close 14-7. Smithville had a very bad first half against Tuslaw. The Smithies got beat on a couple of long passes. The line for Smithville is very good!! and if Schrock can get the passing game to work it could be a winning season. I hear the Buss (running back) may be back in a couple more weeks and the Smithies could use some more speed in that backfield. Even with a week one loss, this is not the same Smithville team from the last few years.

Huskies are no slouches though. Besides 3 huge runs for scores, they held a very good Crestview team in check most of the night. Even with those big runs by a dominate RB, with 4 minutes left, the Huskies were at the Crestview 30 driving for the tie. Although the offense needs some serious work, this defense has shown good bend but don't break attitude. Like I have said before, they did get beat on 3 50+ yard plays for TDs, take those out and it might have been a different outcome. In the end, we got to get some offense or we lose most of our games.....thedemoralizer7;878490 wrote:i dont see smithville losing 2 weeks in a row with besancon calling the shots.. and call me crazy but im just waiting for one of these games for norwayne to take one on the chin. also theres no way northwestern beats BR. was_that_itLast few posts about Northwestern and Smithville have been good reading (not that the rest of this thread isn't ). I hope all the WCAL teams notch a victory this week! I could be wrong but looking ahead on the Directv guide Hillsdale at Bucyrus is the game of the week on WMFD channel 68. Will be played Friday at Midnight and Saturday morning I believe. Could be the first televised(recorded) game to air for Hillsdale, idk. Hillsdale better come ready to play, Bucyrus is a team/program that wins games year in and out. I hope the boys step up and give a good showing. Show the Richland County viewing area what Wayne County football is all about....well Ashland/Wayne county. haha
-
Red RumAlright!!!.....nice to hear the Falcons are going to play on TV. I think it will also replay Saturday morning.
Beast-- saying Waynedale "gave" Norwayne the game last year is something of an understatement IMO. I happened to catch that one with Miyagi and I would say "snatched defeat from the jaws of victory" is more fitting.
Old Smithie--I hope you're right. The WCAL needs Smithville to beat Moggy.
