mompovI find myself wishing this site had a "like" button. I don't really want to comment on most of these posts, but I am certainly amused!
I wouldn't say Dalton's team is the worst they have had, my alumni dad remembers some pretty bad ones. But certainly inexperienced. The only remedy for inexperience is experience so I believe my dawgs will improve as the season goes on! I think we will not the bottom dweller this year. -
Red RumNorthwestern will have its hands full again this week. Friday nights game at Black River will feature no surprises, the Pirates are going to line up and bang the ball off tackle all night. They have a pretty big line that busted up Western Reserve last week. #10(Sexton) and #23(Vaughan) will be the main RBs.
Defensively the Pirates are led by #68(Terry Sas) who seems to be an exceptionally nasty defender. They got burned a few times but did a pretty good job against Western Reserve star RB Willie Roth.
The Huskies D is going to need its "A" game.
The Huskies O needs to somehow bring a game. -

Nice recap...even on Paul and his dating abilitiesGo Falcons;876825 wrote:Mapleton stopped Hillsdale on the first series at the ten. After that the Falcons ran over, around and through the Mounties. Five runners scored and we had 307 yards on the ground before the half.
Bloody: I have too agree with you, Mapleton needs to go. However I am not going to argue to much with the first coach to have back to back winning seasons (let alone 4 and a WCAL) in school history.
From the sound of it Rittman may have trouble with the Mounties.
Paul: I can see you Creston boys really know how to show a girl a good time.
Nothing Funny about The Beast...so I knew that was not directed at me...Im a NO BULL$#@^ kinda guy...Paul;876985 wrote:That's funny ... Before you ask, No I'm not referring to the Beast.

I was pretty sure Paul was a 15 or 16 year old kid, I'm now leaning towards 13, or possibly a sheltered 14. His inability to acquire a cereal box decoder ring for deciphering purposes was a dead giveaway.
On to Football-
The Ridgewood fans observation on region 17 & 19 harbin points was very interesting and true. I'm kind of at a loss to explain it and my cereal box decoder ring isn't helping me on this one. Is it the size of the region? or do the R19-D5 schools play more D3/D4 competition? Anybody (besides Paul) have a take on why it's so hard to make the playoffs out of region 19?
Even though we all pretty much realize Hillsdale & Norwayne are the cream of the crop this year, its going to be pretty interesting to see how the rest of the league shakes out. For the first time in quite a while, I genuinely don't know who's going to finish last. Chippewa? Rittman? Northwestern? Dalton? All are young and therefore capable of totally falling apart. Time will tell. -

its hard for me to say this being a rittman fan but it is true. they do have some talent but this offense they are running is totally off the wall! i know some alumni the last 2 years from rittman that worked hard to get the indians program back on track! i know it is killing everyone at rittman to watch the program take steps backwards again after a turnaround the past 2 seasons.Havin Fun;876431 wrote:The only change I have after week 1 is I think Chippewa will beat Rittman in thier big clash for last place this year. Not so much progress on Chippewa part but Rittman is going backwards fast. A new coach playing his son off the bat and redesigning the entire offense is bad news. You cannot win in the WCAL if you can't run the football and Rittman can't run the football. Sorry. -
THE4RINGZHow long will the administration at Rittman allow this guy to coach if this continues?
-
PaulKinda fun but no wisdom here, I go now.
-
THE4RINGZThere is a lot of wisdom around here, you just have to be wise enough to understand it.

Go FalconsYou can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions.

Rittman was doomed when they hired Dennis...the program was making strides, I cannot see, with his track record....why ANYONE would give him a head coaching position...Add in the fact he has an all star son QB. Not taking anything from the young man....but dad needs to takes off his daddy glasses and let his son play ball. He may be better suited to be a RB or WR.....just saying -

Just ask the folks from London High School and West Holmes High School how they feel about Bill Dennis!!1_beast;877643 wrote:If a tree falls in the woods...and no man is present, is there a noise???

Soon (if not already it sounds) the fans from Rittman will be feeling the same. -

Havin FunOthers have tried but you cannot win in the WCAL if you can't run the ball effectively. There are so many factors that make the WCAL unique ranging from enrollment to later starting time which means more moisture on the turf than even a 7pm start. No school will ever have a significant speed advantage due to numbers and if you are not faster, a spread offense is useless. Oh well, time will prove Dennis right or wrong.

thedemoralizer7west holmes fans??? are you out there!? please give us your insight of coach dennis! what should us rittman fans expect? rittman even had one of its best players not even come out for the team because he was a RB and they didnt even have one in their offense

Any effective spread offense utilizes a RB from time to time. Screens, short sideline routes, and an occasional draw to slow down the blitz, sounds like someone may have been misinformed.
