So are you saying not being able to move the ball and giving up multiple 60-80yard TD runs is not bad?
Sure, the Huskies are young......but the O looked bad, and the D still needs work and "Most of the time" doesn't win games.

Next week Black River brings a large, hostile, mobile line. The D is really gonna have its hands full. I fear a repeat of tonight next Friday.

The bad news......Even with significant improvement each week, I see an 0-4 start on the way to a 3-7 or 4-6 campaign. The defense will wear down late in games if the offense can't get it rolling.

The Good news is......after some growing pains this season, the Huskies are gonna be tough in 2012 & 2013.
Maybe I should have said 'besides the huge holes on the weak side of the line', the D did not look bad....lol. I agree totally with the O statement. They got to get it to the right kids to move the ball. What they were doing tonight just did not get it.

All in all, Smithville played a good game. Mistakes cost them this game. The line play was outstanding. Too many penalties in the first half and dropped passes. I think when Buss returns, it will give Smithville more options in the backfield. I loved the fact that the team never quit and gave it there all right up to the end. Smithville is certainly much better than they have been and I look for them to make some noise in the league.

Looks like the WCAL goes 3-5 in week 1.
Not exactly a league record condusive for big computer points. Hopefully, things get better next week although I doubt it. I have a feeling the same result or worse will occur next week.
Hillsdale & Norwayne will most likely win. Chippewa will definately get hammered.
Everybody else has a fighting chance but none will be favored and most if not all will get beat. I hate to be negative Red but I project another 3-5 or 2-6 week. I would love to be wrong on this.

On a positive note, I went 8-0 picking winners last week. Anybody else run the table?

and finally, can't say enough good things about Crestviews Mason Minnich. The absolute best thing is that he is now finished torturing the Huskies.
  • Mr Miyagi
Miyagi would have met up with Beast to see Apple Creek play but his pm box was full and couldnt get a message to him.
there once was a man from the east
he went by the name of Beast
    his in box is full
    he was full of bull
you would think he would empty it at least

honestly if rittman had a offense with a running threat and didnt pass 99 out of 100 plays then the score would of been like 21 to 7 danville. the coach neeeds to give another kid a shot at qb becuase his son doesnt have what it takes and is hurting the team more than helping it!! please start hooser next week!!
  • 1_beast
I feel for Rittman...They should have known better than to hire Dennis with a son pllaying QB...(ask West Holmes)

Miyagi....damn...i just emptied my inbox...sorry but its hard to keep empty, so many people message me to talk bad about you....

Red Rum... I think you are right with your prediction....Bears are in for a slobberknocker against Ridgewood!!!
  • madman11
demoralizer- agree 100%....Kid looked to run first even if he had guys wide open. Hooser already has some experience backing up WCAL MVP Brandon Bauman last season. Gotta feeling that Dennis won't wanna run around once he gets hit a few times during league games

Tough night in Bulldog country. We have some talent and good fundamentals, just need experience, explosiveness, encouragement and cohesiveness. Some glue on the gloves wouldn't hurt either. A great, but sobering, experience for the sophomores and freshman who got their first taste of varsity ball.
Garaway having one of their best years in the 8 I've been watching them, could take their league this year. Kudos to them, though they had some turnover issues too, they played a great game.
Hang in there, pups, better times ahead!
  • THE4RINGZ
I talked with some Ridgewood folks last week, they say it won't be a slobberknocker it will be a bloodbath. But I will try to get the Karma back and take the bears.
  • THE4RINGZ
Ah, Dalton will be OK after last night. I know you play two teams that won last night, and one of them is pretty solid (not Timken). Some times you have to take a punch to the face to realize you are in a fight.

It may be...but I will say they are counting on the 2-8 Bears of last year.....This team is maturing still and playing "decent".....The Wood may not know what a WCAL team brings....8 years in the playoffs in arow or something like that is impressive....but they are also not in the NE region....we could possibly see them twice this year, as the Bears have moved into the same region as The Wood....

Thank Bobcats need to play Orrville to get Computer points so can make playoff. Step it up Wayne Co Leg. Bobcats Stalk!

2 or 3 losses could get a WCAL team into the playoffs, but the league needs to win a majority of these nonleague games to help out down the road when they start playing each other.

I believe Paul is on to something here. Yes Norwayne would need to play (and beat) a solid DIV or higher team, playing in the WCAL doesn't benefit a DIV team come play off time. See the top seeds in Region 13 play D2 and D3 schools every week and routinely beat them, they do not play D5 and D6 schools and beat them. Kudos to Paul for coming around.

I ran upon a Beast once in the woods and that dude didn't understand english eather. When I said Get he didn't get so I did the Bobcat Stalk on that dude and until this day all I have to do is look at that dude and he gets.

yea, that was the best Garaway team I have seen - excellent qb, good reciver in troyer and a solid D. i actually think the dawgs will fare much better defensively against a running team - they have good experienced LB's and a good (but inexperienced) d-line. Two words describe their db's - young and inexperienced. Most of the time, the majority of them were 9th or 10th graders there is some talent there as you saw several great pass break ups, but they physically are not ready for varsity ball, i guess they will learn on the fly this season. The offense has a long way to go. They have a pretty good line, but unless they can at least show the potential to throw, everyone will put 9 in the box like garaway did last night - and they don't have the burners this year to outrun defenses. I have to wonder if they would be better served to run moyer at tailback and throw one of the youngsters in at qb. Moyer is a great athlete but doesnt look comfortable at qb, i realize he has never played there. He has always run well out of the backfield, but I wonder if his lack of seasoning at qb, hurts his running there as well. That being said, they probably need to give it a try before changing.

    Priceless dude.

    On the subject of Paul.

It's almost like the skies parted and out came a short bus that gifted us with Paul.

He doesn't really talk about the Bobcats, other than constantly telling us they "stalk". He can't spell. His grammar is atrocious. His little stories (Beast in the woods) are bizarre.

And now he's attempting multi-line posts and poking Beast (too funny!!)

    This little sidebar has potential.

I, for one, hopes Paul sticks around.

    Bobcats stalk brah
