Red RumBobcatmom-
Lets cut to the chase here, many posts have talked about poor fan behavior, and I agree, most of it's pathetic. The thing I'm not sure you're grasping is the same social misfits you're calling out from Smithville also exist in Creston and every other town as well. Don't forget that.
It seems a little ironic that you never got excited about it until it was happening to your team. Where were you during the countless other times when it was happening to others? A little hypocracy perhaps?
I think your anger goes a little deeper, I noticed the comment on missed calls. It seems to me you're still pretty upset over Norwaynes defeat and you're now lashing out in a misguided attempt to justify the results of last Fridays game. It's okay. Even people with masters degrees that sit in the reserved section lose sometimes. You'll feel better in a few weeks.
My normal rate is $200 an hour, instead of mailing me a check, go ahead and make a donation to the charity of your choice.
sincerely, Dr. Red Rum
BRF-
You'll get your chance to "man up" and take on the loudmouths (again). Miyagi has assigned you to the "troublemaker" section next year.
Me, I'll be running the scoreboard and Bloodys doing the 50/50.....cha-ching!!!! I smell a 50/50 win in my future. -
beverboy1this has been a entertaining day !! alot of these people won't be able too handle a mass/mck gm ! cheers

I can't tell you how much I agree. Discipline, as I said earlier, is paramount to a successful team. Good kids though they may be, their actual play on the field showed a lack of it, and that is at LEAST as much the responsibility of the coaches as it is the players ... if not more.bobcatmom;947121 wrote:I will agree with the posters who are calling for more discipline for poor behavior, though. Nothing worse than sitting in the stands and watching a player throw temper tantrums on the field while the coaches pat him on the back.
Every year I played, we went 9-1.bobcatmom;947121 wrote:Shame on any adults who post here and judge the character of these boys, without knowing them. These are the same kids who sit next to you in church, organize fund raisers for families in need, support eachother with the loss of a classmate, etc. To those of you who take shots at them on a personal level, grow up. You aren't in high school any more. Would your favorite team have an "ego" if they had our record?
Every week, our coaches knocked us down a peg and would have kicked our butts for feeling our oats.
Sure, and I remember deserving consequences. What he did was very stupid, and had someone done that on my team, I'm pretty sure the seniors would have conducted a vote for whether or not he should be kicked off the team.bobcatmom;947121 wrote:As far as #22, what he did was stupid. Do any of you remember doing anything you regret in high school?
bobcatmom;947121 wrote:Ever talk smack about your opponents before a game? I do not condone his behavior, but i am not stupid enough to say "My kid would never do that!" None of you should, either.
Not at all. Kids do dumb things, but they should also not be protected from the ramifications of their actions.
I don't think ANYONE is calling for his crucifixion. I think many see that, at least twice in one week (video and then unsportsmanlike conduct within minutes of being in),he has exhibited bad behavior ... which not only reflects poorly on the team, but also can be detrimental to the team itself. That kind of hot-shot player would have been a cancer in our locker room, and I guarantee the team would have put the kibosh on that REALLY quickly (and if they hadn't, the coaches would have).bobcatmom;947148 wrote:Point taken. I may be a "newbie" here, but I have been a mom for a loooong time. I take issue with all of the shots at #22 while people in glass houses are throwing stones. As i have said, i do not condone this boy's behavior, but do not think he should be imprisoned for life, either.
I think many just can't fathom why that wasn't done. I don't blame them for thinking that way. I think the people here have, for the most part, been judging his actions ... not his character.
I wouldn't DARE have talked trash. My own teammates would have taken that seriously. Talking was done in the form of hits ... in the language called football. Running your mouth got you in trouble.bobcatmom;947148 wrote:Had it not been for social media, would we even be discussing this? Any of you former high school players ever talk trash?
I initiated the conversation about the poor sportsmanship by some of the kids and fans who attended the game (yes, a Smithville fan brought up criticism of his own team's fans). I haven't minced words about how childish and immature they are (I believe I referred to them as "village idiots"). Those who openly criticized the DB have, for the most part, criticized these people too.bobcatmom;947148 wrote:I see Smithville parents calling for his head while their children openly hurl curses and insults at our kids. The parents, too! ( In all fairness, a select few social misfits who need to get lives- not all the Smithville parents).
The play on the field and the actions of any of the players do say something about how the team runs. Beyond that, I haven't seen too much of what you're mentioning.bobcatmom;947148 wrote:I also take offense to the personal shots at our coaches, players, etc. To make personal assumptions about their character without even knowing them constitutes a cheap shot in my book.
thedemoralizer7;947316 wrote:do everyone a favor and quit posting.. if these posts offend you so much then dont come on here! its simple! also very typical that a norwayne parent would come on here and defend their son's team like they never did anything wrong and then brag about their education! do you know anything about football or are you just on here because you think you have to be the hero in your family.. Schools talk crap to eachother whether they like it or not! Its WCAL football and thats all this county has is its football! Schools hate eachother and a little trash talking is part of it! if you cant handle it dont go to the games!
Though crudely put, I agree with the overall point.
I was okay with him putting it out, and I am okay with the ramifications he sees for putting it out, including many on here saying it was a stupid thing to do.bobcatmom;947373 wrote:Sounds like you are OK with the video #22 put out, then? It was just "trash talk". -

oldsmithieGood Morning!! This is oldsmithie with 5:45 wake up report! I was gone a few hours and missed alot of conversation!
First off, prayers to Momma Beast.
Lets not be too hard on Bobcatmom, she is just defending the den! (saw that on animal planet!)
Like any social media outlet, we all get to state our opinions, we get to argue and we get to disagree. The one thing we all have in common is we LOVE high school football! This is week ten and I hope for the sake of the senior players, we all get out to a game and support our players!
I want to thank all the young men who are suiting up for the last time, and to the teams that will be playing for a few more weeks, make the WCAL proud! -
chippblueWow a 545 report posted at 602 that is a blazing 8 words a minute! Lol:laugh:

bobcat14I will man up......Last week Norwayne got beat fair and square!!!!...the refs didnt lose it for us...the "video" from #22 didnt lose it for us...we just did not excute and did not make adjustments.....PERIOD!!!!! The better team won that night....not to take anything away from Smithville, we did not play very well and we were not prepared for last week, Smithville is a good team, they wanted it more and they got it....I am a die hard Bobcat Fan, and I hope we wake up for tonights game its going to be more physical then last week.......
As far as all the "talking" before, during, and after the game.........WELCOME TO FOOTBALL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! it happens everywhere.....
Freedom of speach.......yes you do have it....but control it!!!!!...these are children out there playing their azz's off and working hard....trust me they felt bad after the game....they didnt need a 52 year old "arm chair quarterback"...rubbing it in their faces...but it happens.......EVERYWHERE!!!!!
Let the kids play the game.....and let the adults hash it out on OHIO CHATTER!!!!!!!
Enough said!!!!!....Good luck all WCAL teams and stay safe!!!!!!!!! -
Havin Fun#22 may be the only bad egg on the entire Bobcat team as mom told us. The fact he was not punished (1 quarter is not a punishment) by the principal or coach has many hoping his "punishment" comes on the field. His video was a distraction to the Bobcats and fired up the Smithies. What better way to finish up the discipline process by sending the Bobcats to their second defeat in a row and a third place finish in the WCAL. Who would have thought 8 days ago that was possible? Actions have consequences.
GO FALCONS!! -

Go FalconsMan this day will take forever!
GO FALCONS! -
THE4RINGZGonna be an epic one in Creston tonight. I will be elsewhere attending my son's last high school football game (QQ) however, next season I am planning a tour of all WCAL stadiums to watch a game.
Anyway, IMO Hillsdale comes out and tries to establish a lead through the air, they know they can throw on the bobcats. After gaining a lead, they go into full Smithville mode. Norwayne has to be able to get their defense off the field and let Wallace and Company work their magic.
My score prediction Hillsdale 17 Norwayne 14. -
Go FalconsI believe it will be a whole new play book(or a least the majority of the one they have not used) for the Falcons in Creston tonight. Execution will be the key for Hillsdale, no coughing up the ball, no penalties.
Is it 7:30 yet? -

chippblueO trap it was a joke and old smithie laughed. I was reading back and came across one post that made me laugh... while discussing who the culprit was at smithville yelling at the kids the question was asked "was he wearing a carhart j GO CHIPPSacket?" Thanks for narrowing it down that describes over half of the people in Wayne county. Not calling anyone out it just made me laugh. NINE HOURS TIL KICKOFF!!!
