I believe that Norwayne will play inspired tomorrow, they are too talented to allow the game to "be over quick".....although I will be hoping for just that outcome! I expect a very hard hitting game, both teams have athletes to spare and TOUGH defenses. Falcons will need to control the ball on offense and eat up clock...but finish with points. The Smithville/Hillsdale game was a excellent game to watch(minus poor officating) and I expect tomorrow will be the same.dontcare;947131 wrote:We shall see if Norwayne did some soul searching and we shall see if Harbour can make the adjustments needed to close up the weaknesses that were exposed last week. I think Norwayne better come out focused and ready to play or it might be over quick. Good luck to all teams, fields will probably be muddy and its going to be brisk so please, lets all stay safe. -

Awesome post!jzi3151;947182 wrote:I have been following this thread since spring, a lurker I guess. Some pretty funny and entertaining stuff on here from some of the long time posters. I have a son at Smithville that plays and thats why I dont post. Football is an emotional and passionate game. It should be and has to be, thats how you are competative, thats how you win. As a parent its very easy to get caught up in the emotion especially if you are an alum of the school your boy plays for, again why I dont post. The extent of the Norwayne/Smithville hoop-la would not have happened a few short years ago, social-media put it out there and spread it to students, fans and the general community and fueled the fires of what was already going to be an emotional game. I know from my son that there are some fine young men playing for Norwayne and that the videographer did not represent the vast majority of the team. It makes me mad that after a hard fought game on the field that there was verbal abuse, thats not right, period.
A refocused group of Bobcats may be a dangerous thing come Friday. I played for Schrock on his first WCL championship team and hope that my son and his teammates get to experience a piece of this years WCAL championship, which may (or may not) be Schrocks last. -

You go through that torture of watching an "offense" on the field for over 40 minutes and not score a td, what a soccer team, lol .OQB;946932 wrote:At least we can watch our team play....the Bengals have blackouts every single week cause noone will go to the games
I see any Bengals game at BW'S or Roosters, no blackouts or overly drunken morons there -

A quiet, boring week without Paul LOL
Bobcatmom, chill out it's not a life imprisonment anyone is talking about, just a current happening. It's a slow week and by next week there will be games played and this will all be behind us.
Good luck, and hope to be talking playoffs with more than 2 or 3 Wayne county teams next week. -

do everyone a favor and quit posting.. if these posts offend you so much then dont come on here! its simple! also very typical that a norwayne parent would come on here and defend their son's team like they never did anything wrong and then brag about their education! do you know anything about football or are you just on here because you think you have to be the hero in your family.. Schools talk crap to eachother whether they like it or not! Its WCAL football and thats all this county has is its football! Schools hate eachother and a little trash talking is part of it! if you cant handle it dont go to the games!bobcatmom;946621 wrote:If you knew the boys, you could rule out the "cocky" part of that comment. The majority of them are actually quite humble. Being "pumped up" is actually quite different than being cocky. As for fair calls, take a look at the large photo on the front page of the sports section from last Saturday. Looks like a block in the back on Wallace and Maibach is actually being physically restrained on the ground... No flag on that one. As for expecting to beat Smithville, it was quite the opposite. They expected one of their toughest games of the season and never underestimated the Smithville team. I would like to make a comment on the people who posted about Smithville staying classy- i sat directly across the field from a sign that said, "HATE RED". Found that to be quite distasteful. And adults taunting players? And to the derrogatory references regarding Creston- ("Crest Virginia", "Crestucky") I reside in Creston. My husband and I both have Masters' degrees. Likely a higher level of education than some of the individuals who posted the comments. I am actually looking forward to the Hillsdale game, and may the best team win. Good luck to both. I found the Hillsdale players and fans humble and welcoming last year. I wish them much success in the remainder of their season and will welcome them to Creston Friday night. Go Bobcats, disregard the haters!! -
Go FalconsNo matter what gets said on here, I will guaranty that some of the same people will be in Creston next Saturday cheering the Bobcats. They are one of us and we support our own.
As to Whispering Eye using the term "Egos". I believe, and he can correct me if I am wrong, he was indicating a level of over confidence. This is a real danger to any athlete, team, or anyone in a competition that causes them to take a more lax approach to up coming competition. -

I am sorry, i didn't catch the name of the middle school you attend. Sounds like you are OK with the video #22 put out, then? It was just "trash talk". The majority (that means "most of them") of the posts here are in good taste and actually address football. And maybe, if you have kids some day, you will understand why i came on here to defend these boys. And, btw, I don't need to post to be a family "hero". A mom is a family hero every day. My job here is done. Good luck to all tomorrow night. And demoralizer, go hug your mom.thedemoralizer7;947316 wrote:do everyone a favor and quit posting.. if these posts offend you so much then dont come on here! its simple! also very typical that a norwayne parent would come on here and defend their son's team like they never did anything wrong and then brag about their education! do you know anything about football or are you just on here because you think you have to be the hero in your family.. BRFInteresting reading today.
One thing I will say is that if "fans" are doing this insulting and obscene behavior around you, don't be silent....unless you agree with them. If you are right there, say something. Man up. (or woman up, too )
I look forward to oldsmithie's 5:30 am report. -

to me the video he put out was just an insult to himself and made himself look bad especially since they lost. if he wanted to make himself look like an idiot then he acomplished that. i have been posting on this site for over a year and half so i think i know more whats going on here then you do. and how would you know anything about me to say things about raising a family to me!? worry about your own life lady! I appreciate your interpretation. Sounds better from your point of view. No matter what is said about our community, we are gracious hosts and i hope we extend the same warm welcome to the Falcons and their fans as they extended to us last year. Best of luck.Go Falcons;947371 wrote:No matter what gets said on here, I will guaranty that some of the same people will be in Creston next Saturday cheering the Bobcats. I have read all of your posts, and you claim to be this voice of reason and have this great bubbly outlook on the whole high school football scene. But along comes this line, "Just because they are " BLOWING" other teams out". Talk about a closet procrastinator. I have not had the pleasure of witnessing this cockiness, but I have spoken with quite a few who have. I believe these people I speak of, but I will get to witness it first hand tomorrow night. I will respond and let everyone know my opinion after the game tomorrow. Safe play everyone.bobcatmom;947121 wrote:Interesting that you assume these boys have an ego problem. You have heard what can happen when you "ass"ume, right?... My son plays on this team and is quite humble. I can tell you that the Zimmerly and Wilson boys are as nice as they come. As are MANY others. Just because they are blowing other teams out, you attribute the wins to the development of an ego? What happened to the belief that winning gets these kids "pumped up"? These boys didn't even get the opportunity to play a full game until week 9! One or two kids with an attitude do not constitute a team with an ego problem. I will agree with the posters who are calling for more discipline for poor behavior, though. Nothing worse than sitting in the stands and watching a player throw temper tantrums on the field while the coaches pat him on the back. Shame on any adults who post here and judge the character of these boys, without knowing them. These are the same kids who sit next to you in church, organize fund raisers for families in need, support eachother with the loss of a classmate, etc. To those of you who take shots at them on a personal level, grow up. You aren't in high school any more. Would your favorite team have an "ego" if they had our record? As far as #22, what he did was stupid. Do any of you remember doing anything you regret in high school? Ever talk smack about your opponents before a game? I do not condone his behavior, but i am not stupid enough to say "My kid would never do that!" None of you should, either. -
Go FalconsI miss Paul!

Some of us Bobcat fans have thick skin and like to play along, some are clueless and don't. Also, safe play and travels to Hillsdale players and fans, and the band too.....Falcon;947453 wrote:I have read all of your posts, and you claim to be this voice of reason and have this great bubbly outlook on the whole high school football scene.
