http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Boarding-House-Monday-Edition-29883**Next In Line … With Ejuan Price asking for and receiving his release from Ohio State and then enrolling at Pitt, the Buckeyes could be in the market to take an additional linebacker in their 2012 recruiting class than they originally planned for. The Ohio State staff was looking at two in-state candidates at their Senior Advanced Camp on Saturday: Mason Monheim (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) and Luke Roberts (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster).The 6-foot-1 and 215-pound Monheim has scholarship offers from almost every school in the MAC plus Illinois. The 6-foot-2 and 225-pound Roberts has offers from Purdue, Indiana, Cincinnati and a few MAC schools.
The OSU staff has let Monheim and Roberts know they are in the process of evaluating the two. They could let them know in the next couple of weeks if they will offer a scholarship or not, or could let them know they are going to wait to watch them play their first few games of their senior seasons before making a decision. Right now Roberts is the bigger of the two but Monheim has the edge in speed and agility. Since there is no hurry, the staff will most likely wait for the 2011 season to unfold so they can re-evaluate the duo.

footballnutAlright riders, is there any truth to the rumor that there is a WR/OLB moving in from one of the county schools?
-
5knotsNot that I know of.
-
BRFFor those who don't live here there is some sad news. A fire destroyed Jerry's early this morning.
-
footballnutAdding another threat with Turner and Brenner would be outstanding. I heard some people talking about it at the District track meet. I understand he's a basketball player also. Supposedly 6'1" or 6'2" around 190 lbs. If anyone has heard anything let us know

Rider77It's not the boards responsibility to nominate deserving candidates for nomination to the Orrville Sports HOF. It's always been the goal of the committee to involve the community in the nomination process. For several years the committee sponsored a full page nomination form inside the fall sports program. We never recieved a single nomination from that media so we stopped sponsoring it. Nomination forms are readily available at all HOF functions and to anyone who genuinely wants to nominate someone. Once nominated they are nominated for life. There is an old timers committee (or was one when I was a member) that considers for nomination anyone that has been a graduate for at least 40 years (i believe) or retired for 5 (coaches) that have not previously been nominated just prior to the election process. There is a great deal more work involved preparing for inductions than most people realize.

5knotsThanks for the insight and your past and present efforts

ridernationI hear there is a family with triplet sons wanting to move to Orrville, they range between 6'3" and 6'6" weight about 250-280, heard we had several college recruits and wanted to be noticed.
Just kidding people but would be nice. -

wow.
I assume it burned to the ground? What about the adjacent buildings?

Scores of firefighters from eight departments responded at 4:20 a.m. Thursday to a huge blaze in the heart of Orrville’s downtown.
The fire started in Jerry’s Cafe & Bar, 226 W. Market St., and spread into Runion’s Furniture at 220 W. Market St.
Lt. Jeff Lorson, public information officer for the Orrville Fire Department, said city firefighters were on the scene within four minutes from the station two blocks away, but by the time they arrived flames at Jerry’s were through the roof.
According to Lorson, the cause of the fire at Jerry’s is not considered to be suspicious in nature, although it does remain under investigation.

RedRider1Per a memo from the chamber of commerce they're saying damage at jerry's was contained to the back of the place. It will take some extensive work but it's not as if it no longer exists.

I think the reason the board doesn't nominate or "hand pick" inductees is to avoid being called biased. Funny how even in the face of facts & truth, it's still easier to imply just the opposite.Rider77;818699 wrote:It's not the boards responsibility to nominate deserving candidates for nomination to the Orrville Sports HOF. BRFI guess me using the term "destroyed" WOULD infer burned to the ground. Regardless, it will be a long time to recover, ala Senor' Panchos.

Is that any relation to the 7 footer that was coming to Orrville back in December?ridernation;818791 wrote:I hear there is a family with triplet sons wanting to move to Orrville, they range between 6'3" and 6'6" weight about 250-280, heard we had several college recruits and wanted to be noticed.

riders1Apparently he left your contact info at Jerry's.

Expectations are good...."pressure is a privilege" when an Orrville Red Rider I don't care what the sport. Tough schedule out of the gate. NW has one of their better teams in a while, Copley has all their skill back, Lex has three D I recruits and transfer Deon Bellamy the speedster from Clear Fork. we get a couple wins from that group and we are on a good start.
Luke Roberts got offered an OSU Scholarship. Hopefully Mason gets one soon too. -
5knotsMason beat him in every category at MSU and OSU except Roberts is about an inch taller and about 6-8 lbs heavier. If it was a this guy or that guy choice I struggle a bit with this one. He is a great kid as is OSU commit Josh Perry. That is the good news if you are a buckeye fan.

Right, I hope it wasn't a one or the other type decision. From all reports Josh Perry will be a DE by the time he gets the Columbus. I think we need 2 linebackers in this class and there are no other realistic targets. They may just sit on the scholarship a little longer I guess. -
5knotsWe will learn something today. It is kind of a bizarre situation
-
OneBuckeyeSweet. Only other thing I could gather is they may be waiting for Mason to get more Big10 offers first?
-
coyotes22I think Massillon Schools is hiring.
If you hear of any players parents that need work, contact me.
