You have to live in Washington local school district to attend Whitmer or any other Washington Local School. That has never changed. There was only one TPS school that closed and that was Libbey and the kids from Libbey went to other TPS schools. TPS eliminated all junior high sports and some other non revenue high school sports (cross, wrestling, golf, tennis) but they were brought back this year.
Thanks for the knowledge! I'm unfamiliar wwith the happenings on that side of the state...i only vaguely remember what went on! Again, Thank You!

What facts are you basing this on?

The internet. You can look up most school districts demographics over the years.

Many Ohio districts imports kids for sports, even across state lines. This is an ongoing act in the Upper Ohio Valley. One school is incapable of making the playoffs without the imports. Its on par with the private schools so both public & private are on the same parity.

The vote is 99-98. This will always be a hot topic as long as the vote is basically split down the middle. FYI: I voted NO. Keep playing it like it has always been. Even though they do gain a distinct advantage. However, many public schools recruit kids too, so where do you draw the line? You dont.

I agree that there should be separate playoffs. Schools like Kenton, Glenwood, Coldwater, and Marion Local obviously have an advantage and quite frankly I'm sick of it. It's unbelievable that the hardworking students at these schools get all the accolades while Private school kids get called cheaters for the success that they have.

P.S. After my team won state, leaving the stadium fans from the opposing team yelled things like; recruits, cheaters, and "we'd kick your "butt" if we recruited. All of this with me knowing that every player on my team (except one 6th grade) were classmates of mine since kindergarten.

Please update your post to include Aurora and Chagrin Falls

I'm pretty sure that the players on those 2 teams just ignored all the crap (mostly from frustrated adults) and went out and got the job done

The people that want to rob them of that opportunity, frankly make me sick

    Whatever you say man...

D1: 2 privates (St. Iggy and St X) and 2 publics (Whitmer and Pick Central) in the semis.
D2: 4 publics (Aurora, Avon, Trotwood-Madison, Marion Franklin) in the semis.
D3: 1 private (Mooney) and 3 publics (Chagrin Falls, Elida, Springfield Shawnee) in the semis.
D4: 4 publics (Norwayne, Johnston-Monroe, Kenton, Clinton-Massie) in the semis.
D5: 4 publics (Kirtland, Bucyrus Wynford, Coldwater, Hicksville) in the semis.
D6: 1 private (Delphos St. John's), 3 publics (Berlin Center, New Washington Buckeye Central, Maria Stein Marion Local)

So it looks like you get AT LEAST 50% of the titles this year. D6 State Championship will be decided this coming weekend between Delphos and Marion Local. D1 and D3 still have the possibility of no private schools in the title game.

Good thing everyone wants the playoffs split. It would give the private schools a little better chance to get more titles.

The only thing I can say, is it was nice to see a ton of #1 vs #2 this past week. Thats how it should be. Regardless of pub vs priv
