Is it time for private schools to have theyre own playoffs in football

The Yankees, Cardinals, Athletics, and Red Sox have won 50% of all World Series played (thats out of 107 World Series!) and make up only ~13% of the league.
The Lakers, Celtics, and Bulls have won 63% of all NBA Finals played and make up only 10% of the league.
So basically.....all sports are dominated by a few teams, none of them are fair.
Since the guys complaining don't like the pro stats too much, how about this:skank;981316 wrote:Said the guy whose team benefits the most.
McKinley, Hilliard Davidson, Steubenville, Buchtel, Versailles, Germantown Valley View, Kenton, Coldwater, St. Henry, and Marion Local make up 1.39% of all the schools. Yet, they have won 16.83% of all the football state titles (33 titles among them). Should they be thrown out and forced to play in their own playoffs as well? -

Dean WormerWhy are you guys still at this. Skank said I am right and I have no problem with the current set up. Case closed.

Rocket08I do know one fact:
Since championships have been decided on the field, you got nuthin!!
Now that's a fact!! -
Mortgagestar1Maybe when public schools stop getting talent across state lines, then private schools can come into question.
-
sherm03
You're telling me that 1% of the teams winning 17% of the championships is fair? OK then...1_beast;981460 wrote:LOL so overwelming...
St. X, St. Ed, Mooney, Ursuline, Benedictine, Watterson, DeSales, Alter, Newark Catholic, and Delphos St. John (also 1.39% of the total number of schools) have won 41 titles, which is 20.91%.
So maybe people (meaning you, skank, and thinthick) shouldn't be so upset about a handful of privates winning about the same number of titles as a handful of publics. -
sherm03Also, combining those numbers...that means that 2.79% of the teams have won 37.75% of all the titles. All 20 of those teams need kicked out to play in their own tournament! It's just not fair!

rmolin73I think the problem stems from Massillon putting all their eggs into one basket. They are a football only school but have squat to show for it. Maybe if they focused on other athletics then they wouldn't be so bitter about it. Living in McKinley's shadow is making skank crazy.

Make it "Maybe if the focused on academics" some of their graduates would have a life. :huh:rmolin73;981534 wrote:I think the problem stems from Massillon putting all their eggs into one basket. LOL I really dont give a crap. My sons wrestle...we wrestle anyone...public/private (even during sectional/districts/state)...small schools/large schools.....(until tournament time).
I dont care if football splits or not....I do find it hilarious watching you get you panties bunched up.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! -

Translation: I am clearly outmatched in this argument, so I'm going to make it seem like I actually don't care, in an attempt to save face.1_beast;981719 wrote:LOL I really dont give a crap. Clever plan. But you can just admit that I made you look stupid and move on. I won't think any less of you. -

No plan at all....your statistics show simply what has been stated. The percentages that you posted, albeit a small differential...still favors privates! Clever! 20% > 16%...or 21% > 17% (if you want to round up)......None the less...I am in fact a huge football fan...but there are plenty of folks on here that have met me in real life and will in fact vouch that I have NO personal ties to football....Nor any of the "powerhouses" mentioned...public or private!sherm03;981738 wrote:Translation: I am clearly outmatched in this argument, so I'm going to make it seem like I actually don't care, in an attempt to save face.

Swell your head and think your wits were superior, when in fact...I honestly DO NOT CARE. I will still keep popping in and posting jabs....! -

ahh... this explains why you were pulling for Leipsic over on the D6 thread... It had nothing to do with me, you just don't like the private schools. Usually when someone is strongly passionate about something (you're hatred of private schools) they are blinded by anything but their own uneducated biased opinions.1_beast;981748 wrote:No plan at all....your statistics show simply what has been stated. It's amazing how stats show the truth, good schools regardless of private or public produce good football. Yet I am amazed that there are people with power in this state that want to screw with the system we have now. Punish schools for success ... what a message that sends.sherm03;981443 wrote:Since the guys complaining don't like the pro stats too much, how about this:

P.S. I'm sure some schools recruit, both pubic and private, but to punish JUST the PRIVATES is not only discrimination but also unfair to the private schools that don't do any kind of "recruiting". Also, good luck stopping Marion Local and Coldwater in DV and DVI if you take out the private schools, might as well just hand them the trophy every year... then you'll probably just kick them out too...lol -

#2 speaking of uneducated biased opinions....your private school education failed you in reading comprehension!

Let's see your QB is from WV. The other big whiner on here has a QB from OR. Where would your players actually come from if you did recruit?Thinthickbigred;982078 wrote:If Ohio state had Mooney's recruiting capabilities they would be contending every year no problems -
Mortgagestar1Several of Big Reds QBs have been from West Virginia. Branko Busic " The Loanshark " is from West Virginia and will spend the next 20 in West Virginia prison. Big Red gets talent from OUTSIDE the district & unable to play just Steubenville kids nor capable of playing in Mooney's Conference.
