Hint for Skank: Not the privates.Al Bundy;922174 wrote:Here is the only rule that is different for publics and privates. Which side does it favor? http://www.ohsaa.org/eligibility/bylaw4-7.htm
Bylaw 4-7-2, EXCEPTION 6 — A student shall be entitled to one transfer back to the public school district within which the student’s parent residence is located regardless of from where the student is transferring. HOWEVER, if the student utilizes this exception, the student will no longer be able to utilize the superintendent’s agreement exception set forth in Exception 5 in Bylaw 4-7-2. -

I didn't attend such an event so I don't know to be specific but why would the teachers attend and athletic event? The atheletic event is extra curricular. It's an offering that above and beyond the academics.skank;922094 wrote:This has me wondering, during the Cleveland area combines, when middle school CHILDREN were trying to decide which parochial school they would attend....for athletic purposes....Was there an announcement that teachers would be attending the combines? I mean, after all, kids don't just base what school they will attend simply on football do they?
Once the academic offerings are evaluated the family then takes into consideration the extras that are available. -

Why would coaches attend an academic event? The coaches had to be on hand so that approximately 30 seconds after the family, of the 6'2" 220 freshman to be, entered the open house, dad could say, "Ok, I like what I see, where are the coaches?" -

the answer is posted above when this was previously asked.skank;922505 wrote:Why would coaches attend an academic event? ...
The coaches didn't "have to be" but it sure would make sense to be on hand to talk to the type of potential player you described.skank;922505 wrote:...The coaches had to be on hand so that approximately 30 seconds after the family, of the 6'2" 220 freshman to be, entered the open house, dad could say, "Ok, I like what I see, where are the coaches?" -

And we've come full circle. -
Con_AlmaI don't think "we" have.
I never left the original point.
It's appropriate, necessary and a responsibility of all private schools to sell their offerings to all interested parties.
I only hope that public schools will continue to increase the manner they do so instead of assuming they have the rights to all the kids who reside in their geographic definitions. -
Thinthickbigredthis topic will rear its ugly head in about 2 months when the catholic schools take 5 out of 6 titles again

I'm quite sure they buy it from the Mooney kids. See, this is where I was going to say they had to sell it to pay for their tuition, but that joke wouldn't have went over too well seeing as how everyone knows they're all on scholarship. -
