Week 13: Marlington vs Dover

How so? He's pointing out what the LV people said. Rest assured if Marlington beat a LV team like that, they probably should be taken seriously.Krugliack;560433 wrote:^^^^^Still sour I see -
KrugliackRead his post regarding Dover. Most opposing fans dislike Dover because of our fans and what they say. This guy hates Dover because the football team was better Saturday night than his and he can't accept that. All his post regarding Dover insinuate we got lucky because of the botched snap, Sheridan was the better team and so on. I looked through the post from Dover - Sheridan and I didn't see anything that shows Dover fans dissing on Sheridan and yet his post say we have big egos. Hence the sour comment.
-
FairwoodKingI'm not saying that Dover doesn't have a good team, but I am saying that they were very lucky to beat Steubenville and Sheridan. The ball just kept bouncing their way. Their luck runs out this week.
-
Go_Fast_SportsI disagree....the ball didn't bounce our way. Annnnnnnd...back to the turnovers topic we go!
-
J-DoverI really try not to be an arrogant Dover fan, but you got to me
Dover beat BIG RED in all phases of the game. Had we not gave them the ball on turn overs we would have beat them by 21 points. I don't care who was hurt or not at 100%, Dover won PERIOD.
Dover dominated Sheridan. What else did you want? We gave you the ball on our first two offensive series, and still were up at the half. The mighty undefeated high scoring physical offense only scored 28, because thats all we let you score. Your stout tough hard hitting smash mouth defense, that only gave up an average 7 points a game, watched us score 34 points. And we gave you 4 turn overs, just gave them to you. And you still couldn't beat us. So go away!
As far as Marlington goes, I too was hoping we got the 8th seed and played them first, LOCO warned me, now I am not sure thats what I really wanted. This game makes my heart hurt just thinking about. I hope we come away with the win, b/c the ball bounced our way or we're just that lucky. Don't really care, a win is a win. However, the Dukes are the number 1 seed for a reason, they are really good.
Good luck to both teams, may they all come away heathy.

IF anything bad bounces have kept the Dover games close.
4th and 1 - down 14-0...steubenville goes for it on their own 30 yard line, QB fumbles snap it bounces up to him and he weaves his way for the first down. If the ball doesn't bounce his way, its a turnover and likely 21-0 see you later.
Dover gets a Sheridan turnover last week, hits a swing pass and 29 is off to the races, forgets to protect the ball and its punched out late in the 4th quarter. Dover would've been 10 yards from field goal range with 3 timeouts left and 2 minutes on the clock. Dover turns it over 4 times and still wins the game.
Bounces smounces, this team is better than anyone including myself gave them credit for all year. I like our chances this week if we don't turn the ball over. Luckily for Dover their last 5 opponents have been ground pounding teams, not teams that have anyone like Marlington does in the back field but that experience will be key. -

That might draw a penalty
This should be one exciting game. Both teams have represented their leagues & Region 11 extremely well. -
GoChiefsDover fans, you aren't going to convince the haters any different. So instead of worrying about them and trying to convince them differently, just keep doing what you've been doing on he field. Win or lose this week, you still have to be respected for making it this far.

4 of the last 5 years...some people are just afraid of change. Its like the media and the SEC. -

Come on Fairwood, you did not like it when we won last year and some came on here with the same posts like yours. I don't like losing at any level either, but Dover is playing at the level it takes to win and they have that confidence it takes to get it done. I posted here before the game with us, "do not underestimate this team". Their passing game has always given us fits in the past.FairwoodKing;561218 wrote:I'm not saying that Dover doesn't have a good team, but I am saying that they were very lucky to beat Steubenville and Sheridan. By the way, since you insist that you are still in the loop, did you know that the head coach at Marlington applied for an assistant's job at Big Red a few years back? I believe it was when Radacovich quit. He was from Boliver, Ohio back then and has a boy that has gone through several serious operations. He is a very nice person and life has certainly thrown him a few curve balls.
On the remark-The ball just kept bouncing their way. That's why the ball is pointed on both ends; you get some and you lose some.

dover2092Article from Dover newspaper about Marlington coach:

J-Dover^^ Nice article.
-
sherm03I'm assuming by the lack of response that thinthick doesn't want to back up his claim that the winner goes on to the state championship with a bet...
-
Go_Fast_Sports^^Agreed to J Dover.

sherm03It figures.

bases_loadedIts always nice to see two teams playing with home town boys. I think thats why so many people have a problem with the church schools and the massillon, steubenville, and glenvilles

34-0....starters sat the 2nd half....not 1 transfer on that team. -

Division I team v Division III team...good job budddd...what was that 5? years ago? I understand why you live in the past, I've driven through Massillon before. -

Again with the transfers? Like I said on an earlier post; once the family moves here, they are our own kids. Are you inferring that Dover never had a kid tranfer in?bases_loaded;561886 wrote:Its always nice to see two teams playing with home town boys. drakehmmmm, wonder what this thread would of looked like had Edison won that game.
It's interesting how one game by a favored team that lost instead of winning in their final regular season game could of had such a profound effect on one team (if not both depending on the matchups) in this Regional Final.
Regardless, both of these teams deserve to be here so I'm glad it worked out that way -
wes_mantoothLooks like I will be making the trip up to fawcett for this one. I am really interested to see if Dover can slow down Marlington's RBs and if Marlington can stop Dovers high powered offense.
